As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So excited to see another Jillybean TR!! Great first day that you planned for the family and it was so special that you were able to get the rooms at BLT! Can't wait to hear more.
Yay! Another Jillybean and family trip report.
The girls are so cute. I love their first day of school pic.
Those PPpics of Maddie are just adorable.
Glad you were able to snag a 2-bdrm at BLT for your family!
Great start. I can't believe how big the girls are. Can't wait to hear more about BLT since we'll be staying there for the first time next August. Do you think we should make an adr for The Wave?
By the time that I woke up, showered and went out to the kitchen to start a pot of , I noticed that half of the sleeping spots in the living room were empty - - including Maddie’s . I peeked around the corner of the second bedroom and asked Chuck if he had seen her and he informed me that Amy had taken Jack and Maddie to look around since they had all been the first ones up. Okey dokey then.
Once everyone was ready (and the others had returned), we went back to the Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. After about a ten minutes wait, we were lead to the elevated room in the back and had a great time eating and greeting characters. It was fun to watch the older kids (and Chuck ) get into the action. Donald was taking his sweet time so we left before we had a chance to see him.
Continued in next post . . .

Since this was Maddie's birthday weekend, she was thrilled to receive a cupcake!
After breakfast, we headed downstairs to the bus stop and hopped right on a waiting bus to AK. It was standing room only so I had to hold on to Mary Devall and keep myself upright also.
Once through the gates, we headed to EE first for FP’s and then over to the safari where we only waited about 15 minutes. After a great (and accident free ) safari ride, we went back over to EE (poor park planning on my part ) where Thom sat out with Maddie and I grabbed a rider switch pass for him. It was Jack and Amy’s first time and they both it. Between the extra FP that we had for Maddie and the rider switch pass everyone was able to ride again with Thom while Maddie and I hung out together.
After their ride, we headed over to Dino Land where Amy, Maddie and I rode TTS and the more adventurous ones rode Primeval Whirl. Once they came off, the kids were dying to go again. Thom had to go to the bathroom and Chuck didn’t want to ride again, so Amy took one for the team and went with them.
Since Maddie couldn’t ride PW, I told her that she could play one of the games that she was dying to play. She immediately decided on Whack-a-Packy since she and Karen had played that this summer.
I decided to play with her to give her a better chance of winning, but I had no idea how the game worked so it took me a few seconds to realize what I was supposed to do. A few other children were playing, so I knew it would be neck-and-neck. It seemed that the game was over before it even began and a girl of about twelve was declared the winner . Maddie’s bottom lip quickly turned down when she realized that she didn’t win. How did I know this would be the outcome?
I picked her up, walked away from the game and talked to her while she cried, but she was just devastated. In another fine parenting move, I asked her if she wanted to play again. She looked at me in disbelief, dried those tears and nodded her head.
We went back for a second round and this time we were just playing against another little girl. I whacked that packy with all of my might when the game suddenly stopped. I looked up trying to figure out what had happened when I noticed that the light above my machine was red. Yeah!!! I had beat two little pre-schoolers. Yay me!
The CM running the game was top notch because she immediately handed the red dinosaur (we could never figure out if he was a dragon, dinosaur or alligator ) to Maddie. That one moment was the trip for Maddie because she told us the story multiple times: “I played this game and then I lost and then I cried and then Mommy told me that I could play again. And then I won.” She asked me multiple times why I let her play again. I never gave her the real reason - - because your mommy is a big putz.
Everyone was getting hungry again and Chuck had mentioned pizza, so off we went to Pizzafari. It was a nice break and the pizza was yummy. We then headed back over to Dinosaur. Morgan did not like this ride a few years ago, so she volunteered to take Maddie, the other non-Dinosaur fan , to ride TTS again. This was a first for Amy and Jack once again and they it . . . once again.
We ran right into Morgan and Maddie in the gift shop, so we all did a little shopping. Thom got our two dogs each a dog tag and also one for Morgan and Jack’s dog. After our shopping spree, we decided to see ITTBAB, but the parade was blocking our way which caused us to take an ice cream break. None of the ice cream selections really float my boat (since they took away the Toll House ice cream sandwich ), so Mary Devall and I split a frozen lemonade instead (with help from Maddie once she finished her ice cream. )
Once our snacks were gone and the parade had cleared, we headed straight for ITTBAB. Everyone really got a kick out of it. Since we weren’t too far from EE upon our exit, we headed in that direction again while Thom took Maddie to the Boneyard. We walked right on!
When we went to ride again, we discovered that it was EMH so we were able to whip out our room keys and walk right on for a second time. Everyone wanted to ride a third time, but Chuck and I decided to sit it out. We pulled up a rock and rested while Amy took the kids. Amy probably should have sat out with us because she declared that she had ridden one too many times when she came off. She had sat in the back row and it had made her feel a little puny.
We headed out of the park, picking up Thom and Maddie at the Boneyard on the way. We were soon back at BLT and getting ready for MNSSHP.
