As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hmph, there's words for women like her... I literally couldn't get dressed without wearing a Disney shirt anymore - other than my Hard Rock t-shirt, my Billy Joel/Elton John concert t-shirt and my Saskatchewan: Hard to spell, Easy to draw hoodie, that's all I own. I am wearing my Where Dreams Come True hoodie right now. Went to the grocery store and the clerk who was at the checkout counter mentioned how nice it is. And that's not the first time I've had people comment about how they like my shirt (regardless of which one it is). And I have the sketch D & B tote and wristlet too - if I'm not carrying one, I'm carrying the other.
People just don't think before they talk. Tinker Bell clothes for adults are very easy to find and people wear them often. I wear Disney clothes whenever I can. I wish I had more with princess stuff on it. I have one zip up that I wear to school that all the kids think is so neat and the other teachers who like Disney always want tell me how they want it too.
It's fun to wear Disney stuff. My DH and I were at the zoo yesterday and saw several families with Disney stuff on and mostly the parents. It is nice to see a little Disney everyday!
I am always wearing Disney Tshirts and also see lots of people wearing Disney around here. I think it is rather odd she made that comment. Like everyone has said, rude.
Sadly, my shirts are getting worn out and I must start replacing them, however I'm not finding any that I like as much as I used to!
I agree, Wendy.
There's hardly any clothing for adults but t-shirts, hoodies and some nightwear anymore.
I still have a couple of dressy tees with small embroidered characters on them, and we each have about four longsleeved denim shirts. We don't wear those very often, because we know when they wear out we'll never be able to replace them with anything the least bit like them. We've each gotten so many "WHERE did you get those shirts? I want one!" when we wear the matching denim ones.

She was being rude. You should have told her no it's not my daughter's shirt but I am wearing my husbands underwear. Giver her something to yak about. lol
Nothing is wierd about it. I wear a few Disney items . Besides that I don't know about where you live , but here they sell Disney stuff everywhere.
however I'm not finding any that I like as much as I used to!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I can't tell you how many of the gift shops I went into and then walked out with nothing because I didn't like what I saw. I've been limiting myself to 2 t-shirts on vacation (3 absolute tops). In the past, it's been hard to decide what I wanted, not this year though

I feel sorry for people who make comments like that. And it was a little rude. I often wonder where people get the guts to comment on someone else's choices in life.
I'm sitting here in my peach/coral colored shirt with Mad Hatter in one corner and Alice at a tea party in the other. A girl at the grocery store just this morning was disappointed that I hadn't gotten it here at our Disney Store.
Recently, I'd felt that Disney wasn't doing so good with the plus sizes (everything got long and narrow), but this year, I found MANY shirts that I wanted, but limited myself to 2. I'm pleased enough that Disney has changed their sizing that I've considered writing Disney in the hopes that they'll continue this trend.
Regarding Tink - while I'm not a fan of her, she is the type of character who, like Betty Boop, appeals to adults.

Sigh...I still kick myself for not getting that shirt!! I know exactly the one you are talking about and it's awesome!!
As for other Disney shirts...I wear them for the same reason I wear shirts/jerseys of my favorite football team. I'm a fan, and I'm proud of it, so there! What that lady said to the OP was just rude.

Regardless of what you were wearing, it is rude for a complete stranger, or anyone actually, to make a comment like that about your attire. People need to learn to keep their mouths shut...."if you can't say something nice....don't say anything at all."
Daily I wear my polar fleece vest that has Eeyore stitched on it with my name. DS and DH have their too (with Stitch and Grumpy), though they don't wear them as often. I am going to have to order a new one soon, cause this one is getting a little worn. I've had it for almost two years (got it for Christmas in 2008) and as much as I've worn it, I'm surprised it is still holding together!

DS (he's 13) and I went on a glacier cruise last weekend that was sponsered by the local Boy Scout Council. Okay....that means that everyone of the 173 people on board were tied to scouting in some fashion! Saw one guy with a t-shirt that said...."Alaska, p****** o** Texas since 1959." Didn't think it was really all that appropriate for a BOY SCOUT related trip!! And yes, my son saw it and even pointed it out to me! So I have to agree whole heartedly with this!!
