A three year old wants what a three year old wants-- Alexander Family Trip to Walt Disney World 2010 - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sorry about the delay, but I worked all weekend and did not get a chance to post.
So contining on with our trip.
After spending a few minutes taking pictures of the room and unpacking a few things we decided it was time to head down to Beaches and Cream for dinner. This has become one of DH and my favorite places to eat at WDW. I told DH to take DS and head down so that "Mickey" could leave his second gift in DS treasure chest. I followed behind them in about 2-4 minutes.
We got to Beaches and Cream around 5:00 pm and there were several open tables, so we were seated immediately at a table. DS made a beeline to the juke box and wanted to pick out a song. So I held him up so we could pick out a couple songs. I love that the juke box actually has old 45's and it is free.
After picking out our songs it was time to order dinner.
DS ordered an apple juice, hot dog, grapes and carrots.
I would love that the kid's meals come out on Mickey plates, but I think that it is unfair that the adults just get boring old round plates for their food . DS was to busy playing at the juke box to eat much food. All of the stimulation at WDW really decreases his appetite so he just picks and takes a few bites of his food. DH ate what hot dog DS didn' and said that it was very good. I was not offered a bite, so I have to take his word for it.
DH ordered a diet coke, cheeseburger and fries.
As normal DH loved his cheeseburger and fries. I think his favorite part of staying at the Beach Club for him was the fact that he could get this same cheeseburger at Hurricane Hanna's.
I ordered a chocolate coke, cheeseburger, and onion rings.
I have to agree with DH that the cheeseburger was very yummy. I love the onion rings here. They are so big and not to greasey for me. I could not finish all of my food, so DH decided he would finish it so that it would not go to waste ( do notice a theme about food not going to waste ).
Now that the burgers were gone it was time to order desert. I know that I said I couldn't finish my cheeseburger and onion rings, but that was because I had to save room for desert. DS meal came with a Mickey sundae. He ate a few bites and then started to feed to DH and me.
DH and I decided to share a No Way Jose. DS decided that he wanted a bite of the No Way Jose and then decided that he wanted to eat it. I refused to let him take it away, but I did let him share. So the three of us finished it off and were completely stuffed.
I will say that this is one of my favorite deserts anywhere, not just at WDW. Desert is truly my favorite part of any meal, and people joke that I have a second stomach just for desert. So with all the deserts that I have tried this is truly the best. What could be better than "a Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge Delight with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream and a Cherry" per all ears.
After we finished eating we packed up the left over carrots and grapes and headed to the Marketplace for a little shopping.
I thought that I would add a few pictures from the inside and outside of Beaches and Cream. for anyone who has not made it over for a bite.

The soda fountain
DS at the Juke Box.
I was looking for the receipt for our meal and I can't find it, but I think with with trip and everything it was around $60.00. Even though we were on the dining plan, we decided to pay out of pocket for this meal. We had a sit down dinner every night, so we had to decide what meals would be best to use our TS credits.
I'll try to let you know the total of your meals for anyone who is wondering if the meal plan is worth it for them. Just to let you know that we got our money's worth easily. I know a lot of people say it is a lot of food, but I think for the most part we would have ordered the same whether or not on the dining plan.
I took a lot of pictures on this trip. I was playing with differnt features, light and angles. I will post as many as you guys would like. If you want more or less pictures let me know.
Up next a little shopping, some unpacking, and what will DS think of the pool.

I never knew that the jukebox at beaches and Cream was free! Thanks for including that tidbit. I LOVE Beaches and Cream I completely agree that the cheeseburgers there are to die for!
Thanks for posting all the pictures. I'm sure others will agree with me that the more pictures the better.
What a great time @ B&C!!! I love all the pictures....keep them coming!!! During our next trip in Feb, we are planning to try B&C for the first time! Thanks for the tip on the jukebox & the food reviews!! More please!
More photos please! Great so far, I love your DS's reactions, so fun, and innocent. I can't wait to hear what he thought of the next treasure chest surprise.
Great start... We have plans to eat at Beaches and Cream the day we leave to come home. We may split a couple of cheeseburgers or a few orders of fries, but we are actually going for The Kitchen Sink. We may all be sick in the car on the way home, but we can't risk being sick on one of our park days. LOL.
Just catching up again. Sounds like your trip is off to a great start! Is it wrong that I want a cheeseburger right now and it's only just past 10 a.m.?

DH would eat one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I would let him.

Lunch has the exact same menu and portions. We have done both and it has been the same. Can also be used as a TS credit.
I'm caught up now. Love the pics (especially the food pics) and I may have to make a trip to B&C on another trip (NOT the trip down I'll be making next month, not enough time to get that one in, sadly ).
Definitely am interested in hearing more in any event.
