Our Last Hurrah As 3 TR - COMPLETED 7/29 (MNSSHP Included) - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love your costumes! You all are going to look great! Sounds like you all are ready! Have a super vacation! I can't wait to see all the little girl things you all pick up at WDW.
We're back home. Why do vacations have to end?? Our flight landed last night around 9:10pm, and by 9:25pm we had our luggage and were leaving the long term parking lot at the airport. I picked up the furrty babies this morning from the doggie hotel and they are fast asleep around my desk (they are always exhausted when they get home- I suspect they don't rest a lot when they are there because of all of the other dogs.) Miss Wendy Darling did fine they said, I think she got a lot of extra attention so that helps. She's assumed her normal spot on the chair next to my desk and is sleeping soundly. I will say though that all 3 of them STINK?? This is the first time they've come home smelling so I'm not sure what kind of shenanigans they got into but they will each be getting a bath tonight.
Although it was a pretty quick trip, we had a really great time! I'm right at around 1000 photos from my camera and about 115 from photopass (this is really low for us but Tyler wasn't into doing many character meets and that seems to be where we usually get a lot of pictures from.) I'm going to try to upload them all tonight to photobucket so I can start the TR with some pictures. Hopefully I get the enhancements made to our Photopass pictures and get it ordered within the next few days too. Until then, here's a picture of us with Captain Hook at the Villians Mix and Mingle (it's a little blurry and I was hoping to use this one as our Christmas card picture, but I use manual settings on my camera and didn't think to switch it to an auto setting so that CM wouldn't need to hold it so steady. I'm going to try and sharpen the image up and see how it looks when I print a 4x6 so I can use it on our card.)
I'll try to get the TR started tonight! Lots to share.
What great costumes! Congrats on the girl! I hope you guys have a magical trip!
Thank you! We had a very magical trip!

Thank you! The costumes were a hit- I have a few fixes to make before our Halloween party on mine (the fabric I got for mine just wants to fray like crazy so some of my stitches are lose or open and I need to redo them.)

Cam, you are going to be disappointed in my shopping this trip- I didn't by a single thing for her! I think a lot of this was due to the short duration of the trip, but I didn't spend a lot of time shopping and when I did, I couldn't find sizes I needed (they had the cutest sleeper but the only sizes they had were like 2T and 3T.) I was trying not to make a big deal about her too since this trip was for DS. They had the most beautiful and soft plush Minnie that I saw the day we arrived in the POR General Store on our way out to catch a bus to Epcot and then I totally spaced going back to get it...I'll be doing some online shopping to make up for it!

Thank you! We got some funny looks from people on our way to MK for the party, I think there are a lot of people who don't know about the party or who don't know you can dress up. It was interesting!

That picture is ADORABLE, can't wait to see the rest!
Have you ever used www.Shutterfly.com for your pictures? I didn't feel like printing all of ours into 4x6s (cheaper than buying ink) and I got 500 pictures for $43. Plus if you download them to their site they will be there forever, you can pick them up at Target or have them mailed-I usually have them mailed. Also, they are constantly e-mailing promotion codes for big bargains.
I have also ordered several photo books from them.
glad you had a wonderful trip Mel. I was thinking about you guys, being right next door to us last week. How did you find the heat. I must confess, I had to take some mid day naps.
Too bad you didn't find what you needed shopping for your little girl. All I could find was PINK everywhere and as luck would have it we're having a boy.

Yes! I use both photobucket (mostly so I can post pictures in my TR since I've about maxed out on the space provided by PP to attach pictures) but I use Shutterfly for my personal use and to share pictures with our family. It's a great hosting site- love their deals!

I was thinking about you too! I think we arrived right after the heat subsided a bit so I was doing pretty good. I did nap one day but we were at MK the night before until midnight and then up early for breakfast at AK. My feet were so swollen after the flight down (and then I wore flip flops which made it worse) so I strictly wore my running shoes the rest of the time and my feet did great. Then last night flying home the swelled again- darn flights!
OK, that's hysterical about seeing pink stuff because all I noticed was cute baby boy stuff- lol! I found a lot of cute girl stuff but the ages were off older than what I need right now. We should have shopped for each other, ha ha ha!
I'm going to PM you, I have a great coupon code to get a free nursing cover (you just pay S&H, which was $10) and then after I ordered mine, I got an offer for a free sling (again, just pay S&H, which came to $15.) Yeah, 2 things purchased!
