As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Yes, I am sure that they would say that as their official statement to discourage people from doing it, even if they will still allow you to use the passes . I know my in-laws were able to take a bunch of passes they had bought for a family vacation to WDW, which had all different family member names on them, and at the WDW ticket booth, someone consolidated them all onto two passes for them - Even though the official line is they are non-transferable and for the named party only.
But they 'traded' WDW tickets for other WDW tickets. They, Disney, will not trade WDE for DLR tickets or DLR for WDW. That is what I was told. Not sure about trading older WDW tickets for newer WDW tickets. Also, would you really want to risk taking a change on them tell you NO WAY?

Oh, I definitely wouldn't risk it. That's why I wanted to see if anyone on here was able to actually do it.
Also, the point I was making is that if you called WDW and asked them if you could take 5 old passes with the names of 5 different people on them and consolidate them onto a pass for one person, they would probably tell you no because the tickets state they are non-transferable, however, the person at the window still did it.

I do not think that Disneyland sells tickets that have what is called "no expiration date" connected with them. I believe that those kind of tickets can only be purchased at WDW. I think the tickets sold at Disneyland are good for 14 days from first useage. This only applys to 2 or more day admittance tickets. Of course I could be wrong as it has been YEARS since I have purchased anything but premium annual passes.

It's true. I had one day left on WDW passes, and didn't have a FL trip planned. I was able to exchange them and pay a 1 day fee for 2 day hoppers at DLR.

I also had heard you could use WDW days at DLR but not the other way around because the tix were cheaper.
I wonder if they stopped doing it when they came out with the two park pass?
It is the same as the DLR California passes are. 12 months beginning the month of purchase, not Jan thru Dec. Also it is a one-time purchase not as DLR California is, pay by the month. In other words, $700 up front, plus either California sales tax or Flordia sales tax. They can not be purchased on line but rather in person at one of the stateside Disney Parks.
They are also only go at the stateside parks. Such as Disneyland California, California Adventure, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Disney Quest, ESPN Sports Center and Oak Trails Golf Course. Not included is Disney Paris, Disney Hong Kong or Disney Tokyo.

It's referred to as an "Annual Pass" which I would assume is for 12 months (if you buy in June, it is good through then following June, etc.), like all other annual passes.
