Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: What is with the eggs???

Here's my theory.

Kids are weirdos.

That's basically the entire theory.. although, I sometimes add on the 'and aliens broadcast orders directly into their brains,' clause, just for good measure.

At about 2 years old my daughter decided that her left hand is Pocahontas and her right hand is John Smith. She still talks to them sometimes (2 years later), and still gets VERY upset if you get them mixed up.. This is also the same child who once drank half a bottle of syrup for breakfast.

ROTFLMAO!!!! I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard! Thanks for the smile.

I am trying to imagine my 3 year old doing something like that and I can easily picture it.

You could always get back at him later in life by printing out what you wrote here, and giving copies to all his potential girlfriends

As eggsasperating (sorry, couldn't help myself) as this must be for you-think how funny it is to all of us

Re: What is with the eggs???

I think I am gonna go with Beaners idea and let danny create his own special eggies and give him a little nest in the fridge....and keep the good eggs in a tightly sealed tupperware container!.....incase he remembers that it really wasnt the eggy swearing and making a mess.

We try our best around her, but I guess we let them slip. Oh, and she'll use them in quotes.

"The guy on the movie was driving his car, and he hit another car, and he said #@^%$."

The only time she'll say one 'on her own' (without it being something she's repeating) is when she stubs her toe.. and then she says Darn it- but not quite..

She does take quite a bit of delight in the little bit of cursing she gets to do, though. Especially when she gets to chide us while doing it.

Re: What is with the eggs???

Might I make a suggestion of switching to using "Egg Beaters" in your house?! Somehow, I just don't think he would find a paper carton as "entertaining" as the little, breakable, white guys...

Re: What is with the eggs???

Oh my gosh! This is just too funny! Arent kids the best! Hmmmm ever thought about investing some money into having your own chickens around the house? Might be easier than going to the store every 2 days and getting more eggs! Pretty soon youre going to have to go to different stores to buy your eggs, people are going to wonder why you are buying them all the time!

Re: What is with the eggs???

This is about the funnist thing I've ever read! This is the first time I've read the off topic chat. I can see I'm going to have to do it more often. At about 2 1/2 years old, my son developed a love (fetish?) for stop signs. When were were driving, he'd go ballistic and yell, "top, top, top" (he didn't have the s sound) every time he saw one. He'd just get calmed down and sure enough, he'd see another one. When we went for walks, he'd have to hug the pole that was attached to the stopsign. I'd about have to tear him off. I thought my son was "eggstreme", but your story "beats" mine.

Re: What is with the eggs???

My oldest DD would FREAK OUT every time she saw a fly. I mean, screaming, crying, sobbing! It made life interesting for awhile.

As for the swearing...my coworker, (who is about the sweetest, nicest gal in the world) has a 2 year old. Molly is angelic with curly hair and the appearence of a pixie. Imagine my coworkers surprise when Molly came running in from the patio, pointing over her shoulder with her little thumb and announcing in her little pixie voice, "Mommy! There's a F------ Bee Outside!" Now, my coworker and her DH would never use this word, so, where she got it is a mystery, but they said that while they certainly did not approve, and let Molly know right away, they said it was pretty hilarious coming out of that angelic little mouth! Molly now knows this is not a "good Word", but it has been an entertaining story for us grownups!

Re: What is with the eggs???

Kruggie,
Forgot to mention, during the stop sign fetish, we moved into a new house. He could actually see a stop sign out his window. He was in heaven! We decorated his room in a "vechicle" theme. As you can guess, there were many stop sign decorations in there. Any ideas for an "egg" theme? Serioulsy, he did get over his love of stop signs. Just go with the flow (no pun intended this time) and don't worry about him. My son is 10 now, and very intelligent. (He was reading by age 4 1/2. I did not teach him.) Still to this day, when a subject interests him, he finds out all he can about it and we've always encouraged his love of learning and creativity. (I, by the way, do not have a creative bone in my body, so imagine me trying to raise a kid like this I can't tell you how many books parenting books I've read over the years!) I think intelligent children dance to the beat of a different drummer. It's that whole left brain/right brain thing. Write down all these funny stories. I didn't and wish I would have. I haven't thought about the stop sign thing for years. Thanks for your post. I've has so much fun reading all of the comments!
