Amy's Fabulous Split StayTrip Report!!!! (Finally)... - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ooooh- and it wasn't just ONE ride on Buzz to cheer us up..... it was more like EIGHT!!!.....this is our absolute favorite ride in the World, aside from TSMM, which unfortunately takes much longer to get through the queue line - no matter how fast you can run when there's no wait time at all! Buzz had a 5 minute wait time nearly the entire week, and the longest wait we saw I think was 15 minutes one day, most of the time it was 5-10 minutes, if that! It was mostly walk-on all week. Actually most of MK was like that.....It was great. I mean, the parks still had a lot of people in them, but you weren't bumping into anyone, and it didn't feel crowded. It was just pleasant. Wait times in general at all the parks were terrific all week. We walked on pretty much every ride. The max waits we saw for the "big stuff" were...
Buzz - 15 min.
Pirates - was 5-10 min all week.
Splash Mountain - peak was 20 minutes, posted as 30 minutes, but definitely took only 20 according to some people we spoke to on the bus.
BTMRR- 20 minutes.
RNRC- 20-30min, but the lines seemed to move faster than that and that was peak, most days it was only about 15 min at peak times.
ToT- 15-20 min max.
TSMM- one day max 90 but more like 60, most days was 40 min wait but lines moved faster than that, and a lot of the time we saw wait times well under 30 minutes for it, but FP's still went before noon for the entire day. (since we utilize a GAC, we would always get FP's when we got there, and then give them to a family of 4 a little later in the day as we passed by - just a "good deed" we like to do)
Everest - max wait we saw was 20 min.
Safari - walk on, it posted as 10 min, but it was really the amount of time it took to walk through the queue and get in the vehicle.
Nemo Show - we walked in to the 11:30 show on Sunday at 11:20 and got seats in the 6th row to the left of the stage! It did get pretty full by the time the show started, but we didn't have to use our GAC, or wait in line either.
Soarin- max wait was 40 min during EMH Friday night. Rest of the time was about 20 min.
Test Track - seemed to be 20-30 min every time we passed by or saw the update board.
Mission Space - 10 min for Green & Orange every time we passed by, saw the update board or rode it! EMH Friday night we rode 4x in a row on Green side, and it was dead.
Maelstrom- was 10 min wait both days we were there.
So, it really was a perfect week to go to WDW! I highly recommend it.... lower crowds, beautiful weather mid 80's, very low humidity, a nice breeze and not a single drop of rain. And, to quote my DS15 - the "scenery was breathtaking". (that's his way of saying he was grateful that there was a cheerleading competition that week, and the girls happened to be staying at CBR for a few days when we first got there)

Ok, so where were we? We finished up riding Buzz 2.479 Million times in a row, and then we headed to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Let me just tell you, my DH has wanted so desperately to be "THAT GUY" .... it just not even funny anymore. We will get in to the queue line and listen to Roz yell at everyone with her raspy annoying voice, and he says "okay, I think I've got it this time, let a bunch of people go ahead of us, we need to sit in a row that has lamps, probably the second or third row on the right side of the stage, and I have to sit there very somber and unassuming"..... Yeah Right! My DH is anything but! And, this is DS7's most favorite attraction at MK, he laughs (probably too much and too loudly) at the entire show, and Buddy Boyle is his favorite in the show. Anyway, we saw Laugh Floor I think 6 times total this trip, sitting in different areas near the front, and DH never got to be "THAT GUY". It was always someone in the front area, but there was no rhyme or reason to where they were sitting or anything of that nature....just that they were usually bigger guys with ugly shirts and overgrown facial hair! Well, my DH is about a Metrosexual as they come - I told him, he just doesn't fit the bill!
I told him next year he should wear one of his ugly Hawaiian shirts that he only wears to crazy parties, and maybe a hat of some sort, then maybe he will get noticed!

We saw the new Move It Shake it Celebrate It Party/Parade thing at MK! It pleasantly surprised me! When I first saw the information about this new attraction, I was leary, mainly because I thought it sounded way too much like the Block Party Bash at DHS, which I am not terribly fond of - I really miss the old, normal parades there! But, because they still kept a normal traditional 3:00 parade at MK, and they do the Move It Shake It 4 times a day, it is much better, and this has a whole different feel and energy to it! After it makes its way down Main Street, the Floats stop in the circle around the Castle and there's a big celebration with dancing and singing, and then the floats move on through Liberty Square. It had a nice energy to it, the music was great, and the character's costumes were very festive.

Great updates, but I can't see a bunch of your pics!! I don't think they are fully uploaded to the board (it looks like you are uploading them and not linking them from Shutterfly). There is a sticky at the top of the forum to explain how to upload......and you can only upload 5 per post (which might be part of the problem)!

Great updates. We didn't see Laugh Floor our last trip so it is on our TO DO List this year.
I can't see some of your pics. I don't know if it is just me or if everyone can't see them. Just thought I would let you know.
More please.

ah- that's what the problem is - thanks! I will work on it. It's funny, because when I pull up the PP site I can see all of the pics just fine, so I can't tell what you guys can or can't see.
Great updates Amy! Thanks for the tip about TSMM. I can't see a bunch of the pics either. I'm not sure about anyone else, but for me it starts in post #5.
ok, I am following the procedure to a "T" in this forum about how to post pics, I am uploading them directly to PP and then getting the URL through properties and then using the "mountain" picture to paste it into the post. I didn't know that I could only do 5 per post before though, hopefully you'll be able to see all pics going forward. Here goes.... Oh, and I also noticed that if I happened to be posting pics at the same time someone else was replying to the thread, it seemed to throw a monkey wrench in to things, so maybe that caused an issue with the pics? Who knows!

I too am having problems seeing some of the pics...couldn't see the ones about the pirate room where you were describing the shelf, fridge, dressers etc. then the TSMM pics came up in the next post but after that most of them didnt' like the ones with the pixar characters didn't come up at all.
keep the trip repot coming though!! It helps keep me going until our trip in July/Aug.
