As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ok, so I have to vent about something and I thought who better to vent to than my Red Sox buds.....
So the other day while I was in class I thought - how could I spend my class time more productively? Buy Sox tickets of course! My best friend and I went to Stub Hub (awful I know, but we were desperate) and bought 4 tickets for April 21st! WOOHOO!!!
I was SO excited and as soon as I had a chance I got in touch with Craig - come to find out he has a final that day AND a final the next morning at 8:00 am! Needless to say I now have an extra ticket that I have to sell to someone (which I'm sure won't be too hard to get off my hands), but I really wanted us to have a fun day at the Fenway without having to wait in the game day line. Grrr....well that's my rant - thanks for listening
I have been so horrible about posting in this thread lately. Too much of life getting in the way. Will do my best to come back later this evening to catch up. (I'm on lunch & managed to get onto a wireless connection nearby for a minute)
Breaking news....A-Rod to Have Hip Surgery, Out 10 Weeks Or More It would be interesting to find out if that's the hip, his cousin was injecting that foreign substance into. You know, when they didn't know what they were doing.
ding dong the a-rod is gone the yankees spent millions like last year and it will be another dissappointed year . the only one i feel bad for is joe gairrhdi he is the one to feel hanks wrath LOL like i said they spend the money but always lose someone to an injury and this one was one in the making .
Hi Fellow Red Sox Nation members on the boards. I'm Becki from Virginia and I am new to Passporter. I did live in Mass for 10 years and absolutely love the Red Sox and can't get enough of them. Fenway Park holds a very special place to my hubby Erick and I since that is where he asked me to Marry him (or at least outside of the Green Monster on Yawkey Way). More special they won the 2007 WS when our son was 3 months old. I thought I'd introduce myself. Thank you Dyan for letting me know this thread is here!
Who else besides me has been able to catch the Spring Training games that have been televised? We havne't gotten many here in VA, but I do watch whenever a game is on I look foward to chatting with you all and being able to talk Red Sox on here too besides Disney Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.
Hi Becki! Welcome to the club I haven't been able to catch many Spring Training games, unfortunately. But my eyes will be glued when the games start rolling around.
On another note, Craig and I walked to Fenway yesterday to get my J. Bay shirt (which by the way has a logo on the front of it and I am NOT thrilled about it - since you only see the back before you purchase it) - I digress. So we walked into the ticket booth area and bought tickets! And the best part is, they are great seats and Craig can actually go to this game! I'm so excited, I didn't realize they still had tickets for sale, especially on a "hot" weekend. We're going to the July 5th game
Thanks for the welcome Karyn. We tried to catch a game last summer in Boston when we were there for my Sister's Wedding and planned to stay a few extra days to see them play Minnesotta. Nobody got back to us on how many tix to buy, so we treated my kid bro to an Autographed Jon Lester picture from his no hitter May 19th. I can't wait for them to come to DC to play the Nats. We're trying to see them then. If not hopefully catch them at Camden Yard vs. Baltimore.
For anyone who doesn't know this, on MASN the Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Game is on right now. If you have Verizon FiOS, you should get the channel, even on the basic pacakge. We have it on and I'm thinking of all my Red Sox buds on here right now (no Youk or Pedroia though).
Youk and Pedroia are playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. They were on Letterman the other night helping with the Top Ten. I still crack up when I see how little Pedroia looks standing next to the rest of the guys! I just saw Ortiz hit a great double for the Domenican Republic, but we're really looking forward to seeing them all together as a team!!

I know what you mean, Karyn! That Majestic logo on the front is just annoying. I purchased a Lowrie shirt last year and noticed the logo when I got home. I felt like it was glaring up at me! We happened to be going to a game that day or the next day (Jason Bay's 2nd game), so I figured I'd get one at the Yawkey Way Store (We were hoping to find Bay shirts anyway) and then return the annoying shirt. DS & I found all of the new shirts were like that. The red shirts with the logos look even worse! We asked them at the counter and they said that was how all of the red and blue player shirts were going to be from now on. Once the current stock of the 'old' shirt (without the logo) were gone, they would be replaced by the 'new' and unimproved models. I don't notice it so much anymore when I'm wearing my newer shirts, but I still think it looks better without the thing on there!
I forgot the Baseball Classic was going on. I still need to hunt for a Navy Ortiz Jersey All but one of my Red Sox shirts are here with me, one became a car rag when I found out Johnny Damon was going to the Yankees. His book "Idiot" was great however now every time I look at it, I wished he stayed with the Red Sox.
I found a navy Ortiz jersey at YawkeyWayStore.com, but it's a bit on the pricey side at $250 They only have the authentic jerseys listed, a replica would probably be about $150

Thank you Dyan. That does seem a bit pricey. DH thinks we should all get white jerseys since they're easier to find, but I'm the queen of missing my mouth when eating. I know we're defanitely getting the jerseys or player shirts before our Trip to Disney so we can get a shot of the 3 of us, and one of DH and I in our Sox Jerseys! If not I'll walk around Disney with a shirt saying "Ortiz Gal, enough said." I know Bobs Stores used to have that shirt there. I know we forgot to hit one of the 2 Bobs Stores last July when we were in Mass, if not we'll defanitely hit up the ones in Saugus or Middleton on our next trip this November They'll more than likely have them.

I'm just glad he didn't come to Boston and the same thing happening. He belongs in NY anyway.
On a side note for anyone who didn't catch the game last night, Mike Lowell had his first at Bat. He was DH last night in Big Papi's absence. I only saw him strike out, but it was nice to see him back at the plate in uniform. Reminds me I still need to finish my Mike Lowell book DH bought me as a gift. Everytime I pick it up, I can't make it through a couple of pages w/o getting interrupted.
If not I'll walk around Disney with a shirt saying "Ortiz Gal, enough said." .
I have the one that says "Red Sox Girl. Enough Said." I love that shirt and it always makes people laugh!
I am trying to design a Mickey head with a Sox cap on it for us all to wear one day down in the parks(I'm making shirts for each day!). I'll post it if I can get a good design! (Trying to ge it done before my BFF goes the end of March since they are going to the Spring Training game at WWofSp. (So jealous!!)
