rain or no rain-we are headed back to Disney trip report!! **Updated 12/3** - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hey all!! When I last left u-we were on the bus to Epcot-according to the pics we took, the time said 10:33 am!! Not bad since I thought we would be leaving the (horrible ) Motel 6 around that time .
By the time we got off the bus, made it thru security and inside the park it was 11:06 am, again not bad huh? Here is that big beautiful Spaceship Earth...... It still looks so different to me since the last time I was there it had Mickey's hand and the wand on it-but it was still soooooo good to see it again!! We found our 1st photopass person and had our pics taken to get that card-we went ahead and got 2 since we knew the kids would leave us every now and then.
We were kind of hungry already since all we had was a pop tart that morning in the van-so we decided to hit whatever was 1st I guess. We headed towards World Showcase and the way we went in-Mexico was 1st, about the time we were trying to decide what to eat-the smell of mexican food hit us all and we went straight to Cantina de San Angel!! Now, apparently I wasn't in the mode yet since just getting there of taking pics of all our food-plus the fact that I was STARVING , so all I have is this one pic...... Sorry-what were u expecting of me people-I AM SOOOOOO SORRY , I will do better along the rest of the trip-I PROMISE . That was Zachary drinking his drink of course (duh) . It may have had something to do with me playing and feeding (I know I am not supposed to) the birds...., believe me-after the 1st couple of times they got kind of crazy-so I was told to stop by everyone in my party , so I did. What we had though was Wet Burrito - soft flour tortillas filled with beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, black refried beans, sour cream and Adobo Sauce and Ensalada Mexicana - tortilla shell filled with grilled chicken, black refried beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese and Mexican salsa and Churros - fried dough rolled in cinnamon sugar. That was between the 5 of us, we pretty much ordered the same things . Everything was yummy and nothing was left to give to those CRAZY birds !!
So, after that as we were leaving-we saw our 1st character-DONALD!! So, of course we HAD to have pics made and the photopass people were there was well. So, here are a couple of the shots that I took..... (that is actually me so I guess u know that I didn't take that one of myself right , my daughter took that one-but I did really take this one)...... Donald was a lot of fun, but it was time to move on.
We decided after Donald since we were in Mexico-that we would go into the Mexican Pavillion-kind of made sense huh? It was so cool in there-u could feel the air conditioner from outside !! We got on the "ride" and of course we had fun-it is cute, here are a couple of pics..... and my FOREVER posing Sarah....., what a mess she is . My kids have gotten used to a camera being SHOVED in their faces since the day they were born, so when I say to "smile" they are more than ready . As u can tell in this pic of them on the "ride" in Mexico .
We ventured on into Norway and was enjoying the beautiful weather along with some very low crowds-it was wonderful so far!! and , as u can tell we were having fun and being silly!! We made it over to China when all of the sudden my (19 year old mind u) yelled "MULAN"!!!!! So, needless to say we got pictures made with her as well, the photopass people were there with her so they got some really good poses for us-here is one that I was able to take of my Zach and Mulan, she was showing him how to stand like a warrior..... We made it thru China, and a few other countries as well, got some pics-was gonna get some made in France with Belle and Beast but they were just leaving-so we figured we would catch them again. It was now about 2:30, so I called the # to see if the rooms were ready yet and we were told that they were , so we decided at that point to go ahead and leave for the rooms. We had a 5:45 adr at Whispering Canyon Cafe', we would want to freshen up for that.
So, that is where I will leave u for now...hang tight with me and I will fill u in on some more of our 1st day at THE WORLD!!! As I leave, I wanted to put in here a picture of one of the quotes from the great man himself....... I just love that and wanted to share it with you all.

GReat day. Love the pics. Two of my DGDs duck and cover every time a camera is pointed at them. You are lucky that your kids are so fun. Keep up the fun and snd more.
Great start. I love your TR and your pics. Your kids are great at posing. You are bringing back such great memories for me. I loved Pop. Can't wait to read more. Love the quote. It is beautiful.
Hi all-I'm back . Where was I in the last report? That's right, we were getting ready to leave Epcot and go back to Pop since they said our rooms were ready. Here are some more pics of Epcot though to keep u entertained before the next section starts ....and and the singers that are in the American Pavilion? They were WONDERFUL!! . It was an absolutely gorgeous day as u can tell in the pics-look at that sky!!
We got on the bus for Pop, didn't have to wait too long thank goodness . We had left everything in the van, they gave us our rooms #'s when we called-so the kids went to find the rooms, Bossy and I went for the van-to move it closer to where we would be for the week.
The kids found the rooms easily and called to tell us they were cool and we had a great view-I told them to not say anymore-I wanted to be surprised and to get down there and help us with the luggage . We got all we could get in the 1st trip-there wasn't anyone around to help us and no luggage thingy to put anything on-so we made 2 trips .
The kids were right-the rooms were great and we had a great view and !! SWEET!!!!! Isn't that GORGEOUS!!!! The kids had already picked out their room-so Bossy and I settled into ours . I wanted to unpack right away and get everything in the drawers, then I took a shower, I felt icky , so while Bossy was finishing up and the kids were doing their "thang"-I showered!! I wanted to be all nice and fresh for our adr at Whispering Canyon . I told them all they needed to be getting ready while I was in the shower and also to try and rest some since we had the EMH at MK that night-it was gonna be a looooooooooooong day!!!!
I didn't really get any pics of the room-I guess I was too excited, but it was nice and clean-everything we needed was there, but I did make a mental note to leave the mousekeepers to please leave both rooms extra towels-which they did every day.
The 1st impression of our room was: it was nice.
The best thing was: it was neat, clean and plenty of room.
The worst thing was: can't think of anything .
The amenities were: hair dryer, iron and board, the basics.
We tried: getting everything unpacked and the result was-we did it .
The most magical moment was: knowing that the kids had their own room and we had a view of the lake!!
We had an adr for 5:45 at Whispering Canyon Cafe', so when I got out of the shower and changed-everyone was ready so we decided to leave. We wanted to get a view of the resort if we could since none of us had been there before. When we were leaving the room-the ONE BAD THING about our location hit us SMACK in the face-our next door neighbor was a SMOKER !! I have nothing against people smoking -if that is what they want to do ok-but PLEASE don't subject me to it, ESPECIALLY when it is CLEARLY noted that it is a NON SMOKING area and they have areas for u when u feel the need to have a smoke!! I was so shocked by it that I said, "wow-I wasn't prepared for that at all!!!", she politely said she was sorry and put the thing down until we all walked by-but still.
We went on to get on the bus, we were told that the best bus to get on was for MK then get on the bus there to Wilderness Lodge...again hardly no wait-I later found out that we could have got on the ferry to Wilderness Lodge but no big deal. There was a little wait for the Wilderness Lodge bus but really no more than 25 minutes I guess. We got there about 5:20 and checked in, there was a little line to check in but while I was doing that the kids were looking around. We were told they were running a little behind but they would get to us soon and gave us our pager. Bossy and I went around and did some exploring of our own and of course-I have pics ..., totem pole near the store at the resort and and . It was a nice resort and I would love to see it all lit up at Christmas time!! We had just got back from being outside when the pager lit up . It was time to go eat . We gathered everyone up and was seated in a corner with a perfect view of everything that may go on during our dinner. Our waitress-her name was HALF PINT, yep, it said that on her tag and on the bill . She was little bitty too so the name was perfect for her. She came and got our drink order after she introduced herself. I could tell right away she was going to be fun and with it being our 1st time here-that is what I wanted. Zach and Sarah both got a smoothie (and water on the side), Alex and Bossy got sweet tea and I ordered a coke. She was only gone a few minutes when she came back with our drinks and all I can say is WOW about mine!!! Here is a pic....-it was the BIGGEST drink I had ever seen!!! Even with Sarah helping me drink it-we only got about 1/2 of it gone . When one of them asked for straws-she threw them at the table -it was too funny. We all placed our orders now, and we all ordered the Canyon (all u can eat) Skillet. It came with: Mixed greens salad with Apple Vinaigrette and fresh baked cornbread (that was sooooo good) . Also, mashed potatoes, cole slaw (which Sarah did not care for at all-but then again, she is a cole slaw snob ), cowboy beans and seasonal veggies. Smoked pork ribs, pulled pork, oven roasted chicken and peel-n-eat shrimp. Zach ate more shrimp than he did anything, I ate shrimp, corn on the cobb and the pulled pork-I do not eat ribs , and most everything else, as did everyone else. We all had our favorite items I think, but funny enough-we all stayed away from the chicken?? We all tried it but none of us really cared for it-not sure why? Here is a pic of the food after I put it on my plate-sorry I didn't get it while it was still on the skillet...
Here is a pic of HALF PINT.... She is with Sarah in the pic and a big ear of corn on the cobb. Her and Sarah were really going at each other the whole time, way to funny!! She even got on to Sarah when she wasn't passing the plates around the right way . She was one of the BEST servers we had the WHOLE trip and she was tipped NICELY by both Bossy and myself!! All the "hollerin' for the ketchup and the horse racing was fun-it was a great experience from the time we got there to the time we left. I would say to anyone GO!!!!
It was time to leave and head over to the MK for the EMH-so I will leave it here for now, I need to get in the bed , very tired. Hope u all enjoyed......
