As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm 5'4" with just above the shoulders auburn highlighted hair. I have green eyes and I'm somewhat of an athletic build - not skinny, not pooh sized. I am 47 years old - a proud, 'older' mom.
I will be wearing comfy clothes (Disney, Patriots, or Red Sox more than likely)in the park, and 100% of my attention will be focused on the two most beautiful children in the world and the most perfect husband and father The child in me would be having fun - laughing, dancing, singing - and not caring one bit what others think!

I am painfully shy when I first meet people. So much so that I could hyperventilate thinking about it. Seriously. Like Cam, as a child I reading and swimming were much easier. Playing my flute was my form of communication.
I am 5'2 and a quarter (that quarter is very important!). I am 42 going on 13 (I teach middle school so I don't have to grow up!) I just had my dark blond hair darkened a little more yesterday because I am tired of the uneven sun-damaged hair. I also had a few grays to cover up. I straighten my hair, but that lasts about 15 minutes in the humidity.
I will be in shorts and some sort of t-shirt from Eddie Bauer. I will be wearing glasses or presscription sun glasses. I either carry a small messenger style bag, or wear my PassPort holder. I do not own a real purse. I wear no jewerly and I have no tatoos because I am afraid of needles.
Hi! I am 5 feet even, mid thirties. Short to my chin blond hair. I am very fair skinned. 45 pounds heavier than I should be.... I will have a camera around my neck and be with 3 beautiful children, a 5 year old tall light blond girl, a 3 year old tiny dark blond girl, and an adorable light blond 19 month old baby boy who will probably be waving at you! Also, my dh and my daddy will be with me. They are cute too! Also, I will have my blue PassPorter Passholder Pouch around my neck, too and my khaki Happiest Celebration sun visor on my head. (see photo of me below)
If I see you in the park, I will probably not approach you as I can be very shy. Though, if I am feeling good and friendly, I might approach. Who knows!? People who know me will say that I am not shy because I talk A LOT! So if you see me, please speak to me - I will be waaaaay excited to meet you!!!
This is a fun thread to read!

Reason: added to description
I'm 5 ft 3in working on not being overweight, blond hair down past my waist, my son who is 14 is taller than me (he was so happy when it happened) I would have my other son and my daughter with me my second son is shorter than his younger sister and my husband (can't forget him) I would be taking everything in because it would be my first time visiting disney.
Soon to be 38 (but the mental age got stuck at about 8)
Pooh sized
Shoulder length brown hair
For the parks, will be wearing shorts and t-shirts with white pale limbs on show.
Depending on what time I get up whether i'll be wearing contacts or glasses.
Definitely a hat will be worn usuallly a battered old cricket hat.
I usually sport a pooh bum bag
I'm just about 38 but retain the mentality of a 15 yr old-I never want to grow up!!
5' 7 inches.......I'm not fat but I'm also not in tip-top athletic shape;
I'm growing out a bad haircut and actually getting it fixed today; it'll probably be trimmed to shoulder-length and my blonde highlights will be back;
I've got green eyes with just a hint of yellow near the center;
You'll find me running around the parks from ride to ride with my kiddos right beside me; I even have skipped down Main Street humming "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" and couldn't care less who was staring at me-we're there to have FUN!!
80% of the time I will have some kind of Pittsburgh Steelers article of something on-I was born and raised a Steelers fan and will die that way-I bleed black & gold;
The OCD RN side of me is always thinking of the best ways to tour in the shortest/quickest time, but through extreme personal experiences I have learned life is too short & we must stop to smell the roses. I'm a no-holds barred kind of woman and will call a spade a spade. Some think I'm outspoken but I just tell it like it is. I am fiercely loyal to everyone special in my life and a very devoted mother to my cubs.....anyone tries to mess with them and they've got ME to deal with!
Below should-length dark hair that can show some coppery highlights in the sun; blue eyes and 5' 1 3/4" (at this height, you gotta add every little bit you can!)
If I wanted to get back into that bikini I'd have to lose a few pounds, but basically I'm in good shape.
If you saw me in the parks, I'd be leading my family along, pointing out all the things not to be missed, and embarrassing my kids by singing or dancing or just being crazy.
If it was warm, I'd be in shorts and a tee or tank top; if it was even the least bit cool, I'd be wearing my hoodie.
I'd be the strange woman who comes up to your adorable baby to engage them in a conversation or who makes faces at a sobbing toddler to make them laugh. I'm the one whose head turns in the crowd if a little voice yells out, "Mom!"
I'm not shy about approaching strangers, so if I saw you at WDW and thought I recognized you, I'd come right on up.
On a warm day I'd be wearing a denim skirt and flip flops (I own more than I care to admit ) with a t-shirt or tank top. I'd probably have a small bag that I wear cross body with my Passporter pin on it. I have shortish brown hair with highlights (all of them "natural" of course only my hairdresser Carla knows how much grey is hidden ) and glasses. If it's bright they'd be prescription sunglasses, if not cute bifocals .
I'm probably travelling solo, but as Terri (DrDolphin) tells me - I have no strangers - only friends I haven't met yet. I'm the one who can start a conversation with anyone any where. If you're standing near me in line or sitting next to me on the bus we'll probably have a conversation before we get where we're going. I love to meet new people!
I'm 5'3"
40ish
my hair is brownish - changes from reddish-brown to blond depending on what mood my hair dresser and I are in! It's about shoulder length. At disney it'll be in either a ponytail or 2 pigtails.
My eyes are grey/green/blue depending on my mood and what I wear.
I'm usually the one walking into people 'cause I'm too busy looking around - but I always say excuse me with a smile!
At disney, I'm usually in shorts and either a tshirt or golf shirt. I'll have my sunglasses on and my little blue backpack purse.
I'm not one for starting a conversation with strangers, but if you talk to me I promise not to ignore you!
Here's a of me on my last trip - did I do a good job describing me? Would you recognize me? Oh I forgot my Minney ears that my friend bought me! Love those things!

I am 59, going to be 60 next year, but I liked being 10 so my mental age stopped there.
5'4", weigh 150 lbs. ick!! (I still can't believe that is me in the mirror, I was always really underweight until I got into my 30's and then my metabolism changed and so did my shape.) My hair is dark blond- it's real color for the first time in years! I used to wear it fairly long but finally had to admit that I was too old for hair like that any longer and I got it cut shorter.
I have three boys, all taller than me. The youngest is 15.
At the parks I usually have on capri's (possibly Disney) , a Disney t-shirt of some sort, and one of my 10 (!) pairs of crocs. I will be carrying a Disney bag of some sort or no bag at all depending on my mood.
Suzie

I am 41 yrs old (that actually physically hurt to type)
I am 5'7"
My hair is whatever shade of light brown the store has in a box the day I go in. It's short now but I'm thinking about letting it grow out to shoulder length and long enough to pull at least parts of it up.
I'm overweight and really need to work on that, I was doing really good but stopped for a week in WDW and never got back to it.
In the park you will find me in denim cargo shorts and a tshirt - sleevless if it's hot and I don't care what my arms look like. I'll have a camera sometimes but that's all I carry as I put my tickets in my pocket and go.
At home I'm a jeans and polo shirt kinda person and on weekends you would find me at a sporting event of my dd's (softball, basketball, ice hockey - depends on the season)

The picture of me in my signature is a current pic of me.
I am 38 yrs old
I am 5' 6" tall and am working on getting back to my Weight Watcher's goal.
My hair is brown and was long, but now is cut into a cute bob. I have brown eyes.
In the parks, I dress casual and comfortable. In the summer you can find me wearing either tank tops or t-shirts with shorts or capris. And in the fall/winter you can find me wearing jeans with a t-shirt or tanks with a zipped up hoodie. And of course sunglasses!
You can spot me by looking for my diva daughter (9 yrs) walking next to me with my hubby following behind us. I am very outgoing (so is DD) and if I recognize you, I'd have no problem going up to you to say hi. I love meeting new people!
I'm 5'7, shoulder length brown hair. I am a 28yr. old Librarian (Academic - I work at a college) . About 95% of the time I wear headbands in my hair. When we go to the parks I wear jean shorts or a skort (and I only wear the skorts that look like a skirt- not the skirt in front and shorts in back style- I hate those) I always travel w/ my PP pouch and my DH. It's just us two no children yet. I always wear glasses, never contacts. I am afraid of inserting anything into my eyes (or placing anthing near them). It's a small phobia, I won't even wear eyeliner...seriously. I smile a lot and love to laugh. If you see me in the parks feel free to say "Hi".

Well, I'm 48, 5'7" and pooh-sized. (Gotta work in that)
Curly, short brown and gray hair, cause I hate to fuss with my hair, but I will be getting a new perm and color it auburn before we leave for WDW.
I will be wearing shorts and t-shirts, so don't be blinded by the pasty legs.
I am planning to have a fanny pack for my camera, cigs(I know, no comments please), and cell phone.
I wear a visor hat that right now has my PP pin attached.
I will talk to almost anyone, so be warned!
You will know me immediately, cause the three goofs will be with me all on scooters!
