Live 13 Day Land & Sea GRADventure! - UPDATED 2/19 - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Rode TT, and just got off RRC. DW forgot that there were loops on RRC! How can you forget that! Now its tim to pick up DF & DM, then head to Beauty and the Beast show. I did find some locations for pretzels and frozen bananas so we should be good for today. Question, why do people run into the back of you when the line stops? I don't stop abruptly, just walk normal and the person behind me has to hit my butt the whole time! Looks like it may rain today!

Currently waiting for LMA stunt show. picked ip DF & DM. Went to B&B musical. We all liked it and DM is very impressed at Disney quality. Afterwards we just missed Indiana Jones show so we got FP's for Star Tours, then watched Muplets 3-D. Of course I had to point out the key, the net, and the Jim Hensen "memorial". We rode Star Tours (not DM), and then ate lunch at backlot express. We got hot dogs and sloppy joe's (nothing special) and a southwest salad, and grilled turkey sandwich (pretty good). On the way tp the shoe we bought two packs of glazed nuts for a snack. Weather is looking pretty good. Not too hot, nice breeze, and no rain yet. Well shows starting! One interesting thing I noticed was that Power Rangers were still very popular.

LMA was really good, but the past two times somethin wasn't working. Last time it was the burningmotorcyclist, this time it was the small jump in the first scene. DM was getting tired so we sat on a bench and waited for the shuttle launch. All except for me had never seem one. Unfortunately, it was cloudy so we only saw it for about 2 seconds but it still pretty neat! The we did the animation "show", wasn't that great but still better than the drew show. Know its time for Indiana Jones. What a surprise! They picked a guy with a hawaii shirt. Amazing. Oh and DF finally got his frozen banana. That makes it 4 so far.

Indy was as good as usual, but I hope they update it for the new movie. Then it was off to the Backlot tour. Boy, there's not much left to see, but DW and I got picked for the water fight. I was captain and she was the deck hand. It was a lot of fun, and DF got it on video. Afterwards we decided to ride where I worked, The Great Movie Ride! After will be Little Mermaid then Chef Mickeys for dinner. Well, trams moving so see you later.

DM thought GMR was such a good ride, but she could have just been being nice. We then headed over to The Little Mermaid Show. It’s short, but really good. DF finally said he didn’t mind a show. We were exhausted so we took a taxi home. We had reservations at Chef Mickey’s at 7:55 but we got back at 7:10 so we tried to get a seat early. Luckily we only had to wait about two minutes. We got our buzzer and walked right over and had our picture taken and the buzzer went off before we were finished.
I do think the picture is a rip off. The backdrop is so plain! It just this big silver thing that says Chef Mickey's. No characters at all. It cost somewhere around $31 with tax for an 8x10 and a few (maybe 4) smaller ones. Oh and they mentioned that if you buy the package, then you could at it to photopass, but only if you purchase the package. I'd rather save up the money and get the Photopass CD and get tons of pictures!
Originally we were going to eat at a different restaurant, but we thought we would be somewhere else so we cancelled that reservation, and Chef Mickey’s was the only thing available at our hotel. It is a character dinner, and we were literally the only group in the entire restaurant without kids. A little embarassing but it's disney, so who cares. The food was very good, but the variety wasn't as great as Tusker House. The Salmon was excellent and so were the honey mustard potatoes. Some of the best around. Prime Rib was very high quality tonight, with very little joints, knuckles, veins, tendons, and ligaments. Honestly though, it was very good and lean. The mickey/oreo/mousse dessert was very good, I think I had four. Everything was good, I am glad we tried it. DM, DW, and I had two plates of dinner each. DF had one plate of dinner, and two plates of dessert. I also had two, and DM & DW had only one each.
So after being so tired from walking all day, and having a huge dinner/dessert, we took the elevator to our floor and went to…......the dessert bar!!! I grabbed a plate full, DM grabbed two PB&J sandwiches for breakfast, DW grabbed some herbal tea, and DF said his tummy hurt too much. It’s really nice to see DW doing so much and being so happy. I have never seen her eat so much. She is constantly eating. It’s nice to have competition for once! We have had so much fun and have been laughing the whole time. She averages 7 days a week, and 80 hours a week. She lives in California but spends over 75% of the time in an apartment in Japan with my youngest sister (Her Dog). it's nice seeing her relaxed and keeping her mind free from business. It didn't take much for her to get a lot of Disney Magic!
Tomorrow it’s our last full day and we will go to Epcot. We’re teasing her about going to the Japan section and eating dinner there. She snapped back right away and said noooo way.
I forgot to add that I do have a blog if you want to see pictures and some videos. The text is almost exactly the same, but there are some good pictures, and some funny videos. It is at www.rayblog.com (My previous cruise is there as well).

We woke up and did the usual. We got to Epcot 5 minutes before park opening. There was a huge mob, so we used the secret pathway through electric umbrella, so we beat everyone and were one of the first on TT. We rode it twice in a row, and it still only has a 5 minute line. TT was missing, as in no trace of it being there, the video of the lock/abs brakes. Not that they ever were fully functioning. The robot on the right side didnt "spray" do I see a rehab in the near future? The second ride was very rough. It kept slamming to a stop, and broke down for a few minutes. The worst is right when we went on the outside track and it slammed on the breaks at the beginning I also wish they would still crash the other car oh well, it was still great. DF & DM got up at 9:30! So we will ride space a few times. Weather is over cast and cold but that's how I like it. Tonight is EMH so I DW & I will tray to stay at Epcot from 9 am until midnight! Tomorrow is the cruise!!!
