As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

- join everyone else on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
- take a long-overdue return voyage on 20,000 Leagues
- go back to 1982 and somehow convince my grandparents that we could spend a day at MK and a day at Epcot Center (which they'd already seen without me) instead of just going to MK...so I wouldn't have to wait until my next visit (23 years later) to see Epcot for the first time

Seven trips to WDW (1975, 1982, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2014)! Next trip: Soon, I hope!
I've been jingled! Thanks Sandy!
I didn't go between 1976 and 2002, so there's sooo much I missed.
But I would definately go back for Mr. Toad (it was my fave) and 20,000 Leagues.
I certainly don't miss the circlevision thing that was across from Space Mountain in 1976. All I remember about that trip was my dad forcing me on SM first thing, then going to that silly circle thing. I got about three minutes into it (if that!) and got so sick it ruined the rest of the day. Maybe I should go back in time and stay in bed that morning!

I think one of the admins should create a poll so that everyone could vote and rank these attractions. I too was disappointed when 20,000 leagues was closed. How about it admins Is it possible.. Just a thought
My first visit wasnt until the year 2000!!! So i never got to see most of those things. However the first thing i remember seeing was the electrical parade and prince charming stepped out of the coach with cinderella and kissed my hand and asked for my phone number. It was GREAT! so of course i miss that parade. I miss alien encounter!! And i miss Tarzan Rocks!!!! i wish they'd bring it back!
No question -Tapestry of Dreams Parade (DH and I saw it in 2000) in EPCOT and Skyway in MK
I just got my scrapbook out from our 1987 trip to look at my pictures from the Treehouse Villas and I'm very pleased to see that I recorded the actual rides we enjoyed. Of course there was only MK and EPCOT so we were able to get a lot done in just a few days.
Another vote for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! I think I miss that the most. That is the ride that sticks out in my memory from my childhood trips! I also fondly remember 20,000 Leagues, Discovery Island & River Country!
i vot for mr toads wild ride and the electrical parade...but what i want back most is the epcot outfits that the characters had on in the late 1980s, they were the silver with the little rainbows on them....haha...i still remember when i was about 5 and i was eating breakfast and minnie came over in her little siler suit with the rainbow and sat down next to me and started playing with my pigtails..i was like the happiest person on earth at that moment so those costumes were of course my favorite!
I really miss Alien Encounter! I'm glad that DH had a chance to experience that one on our honeymoon in 2003. I also miss Horizons and the original Figment ride.
Okay, I miss some other things that haven't all popped up. Does anyone else remember the Mike Fink Keel Boats?
I also miss the circlevisions 360 theater in MK as well as Timekeeper.
Miss the original Imagination, Horizons, and the Wonders of Life Pavilion (It's been closed the last 4 trips we took.)
I also miss the Kitchen Cabaret and the looks on my kids faces while the saw it-they also sang veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit for a long time.
hmmmn... I would love to start out the morning in Epcot, and hit the original Journey into Imagination and Horizons. Then shoot over to MK, where I would probably ride the Skyway and Alien Encounter and 20,000 leagues. And I can't forget Tarzan at AK, then i'd round it all off with Epcot (again!) for the Tapestry of Dreams parade. (at least, I think that was where it was at.) I've never experienced any of the things I mentioned except for Tarzan Rocks! and the Tapestry of Dreams, so I feel like i've totally missed out.

I miss the old rides of Fantasy land...but thats more for my kids.
I really liked the Tapestry of Dreams parade. I thought that was so cool.
Does anyone know of any plans for any new Epcot parade?????
If you need a fix which I do often I have found that someone was nice enough to post really good movies of the rides long gone but not forgotten. This helps me because I sometimes break out an old book I got on my first trip that discusses the parks and attractions.
It also makes me miss the old EPCOT. The movement to more characters is sad to me, but I guess progress in some form has to continue.
