As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Saturday morning I have a meeting at the Disney store from 7am-10am. Then it is home and time to clean. Sunday I work at the Disney store 12-5. My aunt and uncle are coming over Sunday night to play cards.

I have no exciting weekend plans & I [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/love.gif[/img]it.. I plan on spending it catching up on some much needed housework, Ebay listing & maybe even a luxuious BUBBLE BATH!!!
I bought a bunch of cool things for dinner this weekend & I plan to cook away.. tomorrow is Alton Browns country Ham & Sunday is Paula Deens crock pot roast.
Jamie is sitting next to me at his computer MEGA Excited.. he is a HUGE HUGE Star Wars fan & tonight his Star Wars RP board is holding an online party in honor of the showing of 24 hours of Star Wars on Cinemax tonight... He also plans on staying up all night to watch all 6 episodes.. He created the entire board himself & runs the entire thing & is so dedicated to it.. it's pretty cool to see.
Bren is joining the Star Wars party & will be Jamies TV partner tonight.. Jim is also thinking of joining them.. I, on the other hand will be in bed [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/snore.gif[/img]

Tonight...hanging out with the 2 DS's. Wondering when wife will get home from school (as she is a teacher - it's after 6 pm now!) [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/whistling2.gif[/img] Have to upgrade virus protection on PC.
Saturday...go to work at 7 am, Claudine takes boys to bowling from noon till 4pm. I'll get out of work at 3pm and go probably go to bowling alley.
Sunday...go to work from 7 am till 3pm. Then start getting ready for the upcoming week... [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

I'm studying all weekend, except today when I went out to lunch with my friends like I do every Friday, then I visited with another friend (grandson's REAL grandmother - I'm just an HONORARY one) and then out to dinner with her, ALL 3 of my DDs, DD Samantha's BF, and Grandson.
Then, on Sunday is Grandson's 2nd birthday party - he's 2 on Monday.

We've been working on our bathroom. Put in a Jacuzzi tub, new shower surround and hardware all around. Tomorrow DH is going to paint it and then I'm putting up a new wallpaper border and it'll be done! Can't wait! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Saturday I 'm cleaning house and doing laundry and later on taking my mom to 5:00 mass. On Sunday DD and I are driving down to the outlet mall south of here to do some Christmas shopping. We may stop in Chargin Falls so she can take some pictures of the falls with her new camera.

I should be painting the kitchen but I just can't get motivated. We took the wallpaper down and found that someone had painted a tree on the wall beind the china cabinet. DD and DN want to try and save it. As a result, that wall still isn't painted.

Well, we went fishing today at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral (it's right on the inlet where the cruise ships depart/return), we didn't catch much but I got to see the Magic for the first time! Afterwards we heading to the Magic Kingdom and got there just in time to see the new parade. I thought it was pretty cool. We took lots of pics I will have to upload later and see how they come out. After the parade I went to get a Fast Pass for Space Mountain (I was using my and DH's ticket - in case I wanted to ride twice - since he doesn't do most coasters), and would you believe the machine spit out like 5 Fast Passes? That's never happened to me before. After the Fast Pass surprise we went and got a bite to eat at Pinochio's and did Philharmagic. When it was time to come back and ride I took one and gave DH the other 4 and he found a family that wanted to ride and gave the Fast Passes to them. I'm sure they were thankful being as the wait was 60 minutes! After that we started heading out and I bought a new shirt - it's really cool - it has Mickey and Walt standing together on Main Street. Also, the CM in the store said that this particular shirt is only sold in that store.
Well, geez, this is turning into a mini-trip report for our visit today, so I better stop! Anyway, as for the rest of my weekend plans I'll be around the house tomorrow because DH has to work at Animal Kingdom.

Friday took Tigger_Lizard (my DD17) to visit a college.
Saturday (Today) lunch with DMIL and some errands.
Sunday church and do stuff around the house - and put some stuff up on ebay.
