Can't Enter Early for MNSSHP Either.. - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I hope to see you there!!! Love your pics!
I agree with what you said, I bet you can still get in at 4pm. I understand where the change would make people upset, but for me I am just happy to be going to Disney! The MNSSHP is just an added bonus!! I have wanted to do it for years so it will be a highlight for us no matter what!!
We are still trying to pick costumes!! Any ideas? Something comfy & easy.
If anyone else is going on Sept 30 let us know!
This'll be our 3rd MNSSHP and I it. The last two parties, we all wore matching halloween tshirts...I'm trying to talk DH into doing it this year, so far no luck ...I may just bring some tees and hope he changes his mind
I think what will make me mad is if we arrive for 6:30 or 7:00 and we get in after 7:00 or closer to 8:00 then that's a waste of an hour that Ive paid extra for waiting in line. I will have something to say about that to any CM I could get my hands on. But we'll see how it goes for the first MNSSHP. We will be relying on the first to let us know how it goes.
We will have annual passes so it doesn't impact us personally but I am curious as it will certainly cause congestion for all. It will mean we need to go over earlier to avoid the crowds. I guess I will go try to find earlier ADRs inside the park instead of outside, LOL. I think I saw CP for 3:30.
We are not going until October 9 - 18 but I got our DD a snow white dress. I plan to just have DH wear one of his many Grumpy T-shirts and I need to see if I can hunt down a happy or sleep t--shirt for myself. I don't want to be dopey, LOL
We will be attending MNSSHP on Sept 18th. We live here so we only plan on going to the party and then going back home. I did want to get there at 4pm to get more time in.
SOOOOO PLEASE REPORT BACK ASAP ON THIS!!!! (for those of you going to the first night of MNSSHP)
We're going on the night of the 1st party. However, we have PHs, so I don't think I could give you an answer. I was planning on having dd take a later nap, so she could stay up later at the party. I wonder what time we need to arrive to avoid the craziness at the entrance. Any tips? I guess it's good we're staying at BLT so we can just walk to MK.
We have dinner ressies at 505pm for our party night. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when the parties start.
I do remember when we were there last year, the CM's checked the wrist bands at 7pm, We were in line for our pics with Cinderella's carriage and a CM turned a family away for not having the bands, they tried to talk them into letting them go ahead, but the CM was firm.
Well I decided to make a reservation for that night at The Crystal Palace. I just got a 6:30 reservation so that we can go around 5:30 and tell them that we have reservations. That fixes that problem....lol. Thanks for the info so that I could change our plans. That's why I love this place. Now Im excited to be having dinner with Winnie the Pooh!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the party afterwards to boot....

I love the t-shirt idea!! I have been looking up Mickey tie dye ideas! I am going to give it a try & see how they turn out. Halloween colors will look neat. I hope your hubby wears the shirt it will be fun!!
I booked CP for 3:25 (since we have APs) ... there was nothing later for a party of 3 (a and an infant) but I did see plenty for a party of two on the date we are going.
They've done this the past few years -- in the rose garden by the castle, near COP in Tomorrowland, and by the riverboat in Liberty Square. CMs with card readers swiped your party ticket and placed a wristband on the guest. The places may change, but I'd say they'll continue with this procedure for those guests already in the park when the party starts.
Oh, good. Thanks so much for clearing that up for me. I'd never had to exchange in the park before so I didn't know. Thanks Eileen!!
I'm wondering if this is something that'll actual be enforced or just something that's being told to everyone to discourage trying to enter before 7pm? I'm sure every CM you ask will tell you entry is at 7pm or after...but will they actually turn people away at the gates??
I wonder why they would do that though (tell everyone they weren't able to get in till 7 then let them in anyway), when they have always been honest and forthcoming about people being allowed in at 4 if you asked them? I don't want to go over early since I don't have a regular ticket (or AP) for that day, but I will be upset if I wait in all the huge crowds at 7 and find out that they did in fact let people in at 4 when they said they wouldn't.

MNSSHP 2015: DH (Bane), Me (Batgirl), Genie, and our friends
This rumor viciously circles the internet message boards for weeks leading up to the firs MNSSHP when man ywill arrive at 4pm and ............. be let in with no issues. I wouldn't put any stock into at all. Over the phone CM's are not known for being the most accurate source of info.
I had my TA call and she verified with 3 different CM's that if you have a dining ressie you will be allowed in with your MNSSHP ticket with no problems. I would go and check with online dining for ADR's before I would actually call Disney dining because they are more than likely going to say that there is nothing available to discourage those from booking. But that is just my opinion. We have had our ADR since we bought our tickets for the party so we will be arriving between 4 & 4:30 for our 5:00 ADR.
I just hope people don't make ADR's just to gain entry and then cancel when they had no intention of patronizing those restaurants in the first place. It wouldn't be a very nice thing to do because you might take a spot from someone who wants to genuinely eat there. Next thing you know, we won't be allowed ADR's.

I agree. Check out this thread from DISboards, in particular posts 16 and 19:
bummer I was hoping to get in around 6pm to avoid the crowded mess of people all trying to get in at 7pm. I guess we will just get there at 6pm and be at the beginning of the line. I don't want to use one of TS credits that first night.
