We were inspired by Samantha Brown's Carnival cruise so away we go! - Page 29 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

And you both look lovely as ever for your pre-dinner pics
Excited to hear about you day at sea................those are the best!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this update!
I thought so too! I told Eric it looked like the South Pacific...
I'm not sure what the story is exactly. I'm sure my boyfriend would know if I asked him about it!
I just thought it was almost like a hidden gem...very magical!
Days at sea are so relaxing

I KNOW that makes me want to take a trip there sans cruise ship so that we can explore the caves with no issues!

The caves are really cool and yes, that rock DOES look like a face, totally! LOL!
The rocks reminded me of Easter Island faces
YAY! I'm glad you are getting excited for the cruise! ask away with planning questions! Eric is already trying to plan the next cruise LOL
Great updates, Crissy! Sorry about the crowds and that you got stuck in the sun waiting for latecomers, but it sounds like a great day. What a beautiful island!

I just wanted to thank everyone who has stuck with me and continues to read on
I will do another update this week which is my day at sea and at the first of next week I hope to finish this TR up so I can start my PTR for Disney in the fall I think I will start at the first of August
Again thanks for reading along and sticking with me!
Okay...so if you feel bad for not finishing an April TR...I'm really in the dog house And right now I'm supposed to be working (home with a sick 5 year old). But I'm catching up on TRs. I'll be working all night at this rate.
Tortola just sounds so pirate-y.
I can't believe how clear the water is at the Baths. Those pictures are absolutely amazing. One thing I LOVE LOVE is clear water. Just gorgeous. Jumping off rocks, huh? Boys And what an amazing view from the pool. That island is beautiful and you got some amazing pictures.
How cool to just go back to the room and order room service whenever. I think I'd get used to that quick. LOVE the orange t-shirt!!! And I don't think there are enough lights in the lobby. Geez!!!
so glad you are posting again - I thought maybe you forgot about us - funny how life just gets in the way . I can't believe how absolutely beautiful and crystal clear the water is - amazing.

Okay, so I am back again with another update, believe it or not.
I do really want to tell the rest of the trip because I need to get this done for the patient readers
Friday, April 2nd, Fun Day at Sea and 2nd formal night!
We decided to sleep in today. It had been many mornings of getting up way too early!
We slept until about 930-10am. I'm pretty sure we ordered room service because we only ate breakfast one time at the buffet. Only because if I can get room service for free I'm going to take heavy advantage of this!
We decided that we would go our own ways today. His parents decided to wander around and do their own thing today. This was a nice break from each other and from trying to appease the whole
I am a avid sun bather so I begged Eric to come with me and lay out in the sun for a little while.
We got ready and headed out to the top deck around noon. We found two chairs on the upper deck with no issues. It was actually really nice where our chairs were because the Carribbean band was playing on that deck and you could walk right down the stairs and be at the bar and the bathroom. It was really perfect!
Eric took a picture of my head while we were laying out
Here is to the left of me
I really liked these chairs. They didnt have slats that leave lines on you! Despite the large amount of passengers it was fairly easy to find chairs on the upper deck. They were impossible to find by the pool but these were just as good to me!
We laid in the sun for nearly an hour and a half. At this point we decided we had enough of that and decided to run to the room to put our things in there and go play putt putt.
There were alot of people with the same idea so we had to wait on the hole a few times. However it was fine with us....I will say that day in particular that ship was going at top speed.
Which is unreal because its a sea day and they know we will be out on the decks. It was so breezy here, I dont know if you can tell from these pics but my dress blew up several times! Glad I had my bathing suit underneath it all LOL
We had such a great time playing putt putt. We always do! We are both very competitive so its always hilarious!
When we played the 9 holes we decided we were done! The wind had nearly blown our skin off
We decided to head back down and soak in pool games. These are always so funny!
But first there is always the ice carvings
At this point we had found his parents with a table they had scored by the pool in the shade. So we joined them and ordered some FAB's and watched the games. Then they played horse races played by people which was funny
After this they played this game on the big screen and it was famous big screen kisses!
But they had to first fix a pixel that was messed up so we saw this
We this game!! I got them all but four out of 25!! You can tell I watch wayyyy too many movies after that
At this point I felt I had enough of the sun. I told Eric I was going to take a shower and it was nearing 5pm at this point. We went ahead and decided to get dressed for the night.
We were all ready by 630 and our dinner was for 830. We wandered around the ship for the next few hours. We had drinks at a few bars and walked around the stores and browsed for items for souvies.
We then took a picture of this weird light fixture
We had read all these crusie reviews talking about how these light fixtures creeped everyone out LOL they were a little creepy!
Eric took a picture of pictures around the boat
It was nearing our formal dinner time at 830! It was Baked Alaska night!!
Oh...I nearly forgot to tell you guys this!
When you stay on a Carnival ship and probably other cruiselines as well...you can access many things on your TV.
Each day they would put up a Dinner menu that you could look through with your TV remote. You could also check your check card balance as well to see how much money you had spent!
It was a wonderful feature!
So here is before dinner in our finery...which I have worn this dress before on my 1st or 2nd cruise
We walked in and sat at our usual four top table. We had the same waiters throughout our cruise and I will have to say that at times the service was slow. It would take nearly 1.5 hours each night to eat. In fact, one night it took two hours
I cannot remember what we ordered but the food was always very good!
Here we are with our usual dinner shot
Eric's parents
We ordered dessert that night and it was the presentation of the baked alaska!! How wonderful is this great little dessert! i got to choose the chocolate portion!
After this they sang a good bye song We were a bit confused because we still had one more n ight. Remember this was a seven night 8 day cruise??? Well the only thing we could figure is that they didn't expect a big turn out for dinner the last night and wanted to say goodbye before that happened??? Which was fine just weird!
We headed out and the show tonight was the much anticipated Beatles Tribute show!
We were so excited about this! I The Beatles! My mom used to sing and play their music while they played cards when I was little. So it reminds me of fun times and its just such upbeat music!
Eric's dad is a big beatles fan as well so he was just so excited about it too!
The show was FANTASTIC!! The band was so great and they gave us little glow in the dark sticks and had us sing and get up and dance! It was just wonderful and so much fun! We all really enjoyed this show!
After the show it was nearing midnight. I decided to call it a night but they went on to the piano bar and the cigar bar.
I think they must have stayed out until nearly 2am but I was fast alseep
Days at sea are a great way to relax and really enjoy what the ship has to offer. You can explore and put to use all the rooms on the ship!
This little guy was waiting for us before bed
We had never seen a seal before!
Up next: Now I know why everyone loves Atlantis Resort!!!???!!! WOWSERS!
Just read your ENTIRE trip report in one sitting and I was addicted!!! Your pictures are just gorgeous and I your cute little dresses!! Sorry to hear that Eric was sick but thank goodness you took him to the little medical center. More please! I am hooked.....

OK!! I just goota ask! How in the world do you get the golf balls to go in the right direction when the ship is swayin' in the sea?? Huh? I just can't figure it out!!
