Wow! Is he really 10 years old? Let's go to Disney! - The TR - COMPLETE!! 5/28 - Page 28 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great pictures from DHS!! Dinner at Cape May sounds like a way to end your day.
Thanks, CMC was a great way to end our day!

My DH and I both grew up in Florida and every time we go down there seafood is a must. There are some good places here in GA but for fresh seafood you have to pay a premium price here. Seafood is just not the same if it is not fresh. So we take every chance we can to eat at a fabulous seafood buffet!

You will really like CMC! The Great Movie Ride is just so fun, you will really like it.

Glad we are not the only ones who make it a must do!
We didn't stick around in Darth's Mall very long. DW was getting a little nervous with me pointing everything out.
The only thing we bought was a double sided lightsaber for DS2. It was his one big purchase. We sent it back to the room because we were eating at Via Napoli later and didn't need him using it on anyone. He was amazed how it was at the resort the next day.
We walked around Beach Club a bit too. We liked it, but not enough to stay there I don't think. We may change our minds.
Cape May is one of our ADRs for our upcoming trip! We both love seafood and can't wait to try this! a Looking forward to your next update!
You will love Cape May!

I can imagine how nervous she was, there was so much there! It is pretty cool how you can have your purchases sent to your resort. We have always liked that although it was a bit nicer when they delivered directly to your room instead of having to pick it up at the gift shop.
We really like the Beach Club, especially how close it is to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Some day we hope to stay there.
This morning was supposed to be our 2nd day at Animal Kingdom but since our first day ended so abruptly this was really our only day there. So we needed to make the most of it. I was able to get us a late breakfast ADR at Tusker House as one or the make up TS restaurants that we lost from the beginning of the trip. So we had a small breakfast when we got up this morning just to tide us over.
We got to the Animal Kingdom shortly after opening and had enough time to ride KS before our ADR at Tusker House.
You have to look closely here and you will see the Lioness.
I was a bit disappointed that the zebras were not on the safari at this time. I had heard that there were issues and they were not doing to well so they were moved. I am happy to see that they are back on the safari now. So hopefully we will catch them next time we are there.
After our safari was over we made our way over to the Tusker House for breakfast with Donald and the gang!
So we checked into Tusker House and we had to wait just a bit to get our picture with Donald.
Then we were taken to our table. We got our fabulous Jungle Juice and waited for the Chef to come and walk me through the buffet for our allergy issues. With that done I got us food and we enjoyed our breakfast and the characters.
Goofy came back around.
I look so tired in this photo but I really wasn't. LOL
After our late breakfast we went shopping in Asia. I know I found a hat that I liked a lot. I needed a new one as mine was getting a bit worn after so many trips.
We then decided to see the Flights of Wonder show since I don't think we had seen it before. I only managed a couple of shots of the stage. Our seats were not that great and the birds were too fast for anything to come out.
We did enjoy the show and thought it was funny and the birds were amazing.
We then decided to head to Dinoland and do some shopping there. I picked up a few shirts for Jonathon and a Mickey watch for myself. I have to say here I was a bit nervous about this day considering what happened on our first day at this park. I kept checking Jonathon to make sure he was not overheated and drank plenty of fluids. He was just fine though.
Glad there were no issues at AK on this visit! You got some amazing animal shots on the safari. The hippos were so much more active than I've seen. I usually see them when they're lined up like huge logs sleeping half-submerged.

We did have a good safari. Breakfast was lots of fun.

I forgot about gettting some photopass shots before we made it over to Dinoland.
After our shopping in Dinoland, we made our way over to the Finding Nemo show. We did not have to wait long and we were soon inside. We were seated not too far from where we were seated at the last show, but this time we were able to stick around and watch the show!
Warning lots of photos here:
Sorry this is blurry!
The bubbles in the show were a huge hit with Jonathon! He loved that part!
We left that show and made our way across the park. The parade had started and we were trying to get to Pizzafari for a mid afternoon snack. We slowly skirted the parade and navigated the crowds and finally got there and sat down for some pizza and salad.
After our snack we wandered around and then headed over to see ITTBAB. This was a first for all of us!
The result: We liked it. I was not sure how it would go. Jonathon was fine with it and I think he enjoyed it. Mike was not expecting the part at the end where the bugs leave the show and you feel it in your seat. Oops! Did I forget to mention that Honey? He thought it was weird. I knew it was coming and I thought it was weird too. LOL
I think this is the point where we headed out of the park. At some point during this day we did think about going on KRR. We have never been on it either and we did talk to a CM about it near the ride. We decided not to do it that day because we just were not sure about the wheelchair and what to do with our stuff. I have since learned that there are lockers near the entrance and that Jonathon's backpack would have to be stored there as it will not fit in the cubby on the ride float. Also I would like to be prepared and bring our aquasocks with us so we don't have soggy shoes and socks. So it is on the list for the next visit!
We left AK and headed over to GF for dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
Totally forgot that we got some PP pics with the Tree of Life on our way out!
We got over to GF with plenty of time. We checked in and then waited out in the lobby until we were called.
We were finally called in and we got our picture taken. This must be new because I do not remember getting a picture the last time we were there. But it was some time ago so I can not be sure. Any way it was included with our PP+!
We were seated in the little room towards the back, which was fine. I had to wait for the Chef to come and talk to me about the buffet. The Prince Stopped by.
Jonathon being silly and you can see me walking with the Chef in the background.
Cinderella came by while I was gone.
Then one of the step sisters.
Jonathon actually seemed to like the Stepmother the most. I am not sure what to make of that.
I think all Jonathon really wanted was some food. Which I did bring. The Chef even made some separate stuff for me that would work better with my dairy issues and I got some dairy free ice cream as well. Yummy. The food was great and Mike really enjoyed as the last time he was here he was ill and could not eat anything.
A few food pics:
For some reason on this trip we did not take a lot of food pics at the buffets. Not sure why. Perhaps we were just too hungry.
After dinner we took a potty break and then headed to MK. We rode the yellow monorail this time. But I got a picture of the IronMan monorail.
Once we arrived we did some shopping on Main Street. and then headed over to Fantasyland and rode IASW. ( Warning, lots of pics of this ride.)
We did enjoy our ride on IASW. I do have to admit that, after having read the Kingdom Keepers books, I have a different view of this ride. I kept looking at the figures and wondering. Hmmmm......LOL.
