We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 28 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I have to say Tabitha, your TR has brought me to tears so many times. You write very well. You make me feel like I know Selah and Asher, and have felt Selah's joy and excitement..along with Asher's disappointment and brotherly love. What a great kid, I know I have said it before...but I can't help myself.
I love the pic at CM as well. I hadn't even seen your comment below it and was thinking the very same thing. Yay! A family pic where Selah has a great big smile and looking at the camera! I am glad you all enjoyed it so much!
Wanda me up!!
Great pics as always! Can't wait to hear about your day, from the teaser it sounds like a good one.
Thanks Sparky! I have never considered myself much of a writer but I have enjoyed writing this TR.
I was so excited to see the pic with her looking at and smiling at the camera. It is MUCH better than her class picture that they did last week at school. 7 kids in her class. 5 boys and 2 girls. The girls were at opposite ends of the picture in teachers laps. Both of them screaming. They did not want their picture taken. I was standing behind the camera man and the teacher that was holding Selah mouthed to me, "Yay! She stopped crying!" I said, "nope it's just silent screams now." We all laughed about it. Better that then be upset about it. Her class picture from last year looks exactly the same because her and the other little girl were in class together last year too. Oh well, maybe one day they will not be screaming in their class picture.
Hopefully I can get the next update done tomorrow. Yes, it was a good day.

What a great breakfast and character interaction. The group photo is wonderful of everyone and the ones of Selah looking into the characters' faces are beautiful. And the one of her kissing Pluto's nose! I loved your detour into Asher's backstory. He's a fantastic and compassionate boy. VERY smart, too.
Thanks! I hadn't planned on doing the background story but as I was typing up the update I wanted to explain what I was saw during our trip. Yes, I have seen him growing and maturing but it just really hit me on this trip and I didn't know any other way to explain it other than to give that little bit of history. I sometimes feel like Asher gets overlooked by people because so much is centered around Selah. I always try to make sure he never feels like that.

Sounds like a great breakfast! And what a nice brother Asher is turning out to be! Not that he was ever a bad brother, but it's so nice that he "gets it" and that he has a nice time with his sister. It's always amazing what kids understand and how they react to things.

Ok I had tears in my eyes. As a parent you always try to insure that your children get along well and love each other. The love I see between your kids is just beautiful! What a tolerant and understanding boy you have and what a spunky and lovely daughter you have. I only hope my 3 "babies" ( 8 yr old son and 5 year old twins...son and daughter) will love each other through thick and thin like your babies. I have really enjoyed reading your TR and hope for more very soon.
Thanks so much!

It was a great breakfast! Thanks so much! They do love each other some kinda good! I almost didn't tell that Wanda story because I wasn't sure if I would explain the whole Contemporary floor thing good enough. It was so funny though I decided to try anyway.
Sounds like everyone had a wonderful breakfast at Che Mickey's!!!
We sure did!

I will try not to make you cry any more but I am not making any promises. I wouldn't want to have to break it. I don't think I will though. Jamie is a great big brother, I guess that is where Asher gets it from. Sorry I couldn't resist teasing you a little for using the wrong name. I know I've used the wrong name plenty of times on peoples TR's. Seriously though, thank you so much for the compliment!

Chef Mickey's sounds yummy! I'm so glad Asher was being so sweet! I know, havine two boys myself, that it's not always easy to have them get along. Being 4 years apart presents it's challenges by itself, but my boys have thier own special issues too, and that can complicate things. It shows what a wonderful family you have that they get along so well.
What a great meal at Chef Mickey's. Love the stories about Asher and Selah, Asher is a wonderful big brother and he is definitely adored by his little sister.
Photopass Pictures, Lots of Spinning and Jamie Has a Close Encounter With a Certain Mermaid. MK Part 1 2/3
The ride on the monorail was fun as always. We were all excited we got to leave from the Contemporary on it since we had never done that before. When we got to MK there was a very large group of Cheerleaders there just after going through the turnstiles. They were taking picture after picture in front of the train station. We had wanted to get a picture there together but it was not going to happen. They were not leaving any time soon. We decided to skip it and maybe try for a picture later. I was pretty certain that was not going to happen. I know Jamie and I and we are not walking under that train station again until we are ready to exit. Then it will be late and we will not remember the picture. Oh well. Once on Main Street Wanda says she wants to do some shopping. She is still looking for a watch and she wants to see what else there is to see in the shops on Main Street. We tell her we will meet back up with her later and we head Tomorrow Land. We made a quick pit stop in Baby Care for a diaper change and then we were off to beat Emperor Zurg. On our way, Jamie mentions that we have not had very many photopass pictures taken. We have never purchased the photopass CD before and are just not used to stopping for those pictures. We see a couple of photographers on the bridge to Tomorrow Land so we stop for some pictures.
After a while Selah lets us know she is over this photo session and it is time to get to some rides. Our first ride of the day is Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger. Riding partners were me and Selah, Asher and Jamie. Selah's favorite part of this ride is spinning around in circles. She loves spinning!
After defeating Emperor Zurg Wanda calls to see where we are. She found her watch and is now ready to do some rides. We tell her to meet us in Tomorrow Land. Jamie and I went and got FP's for Space Mountain and by the time she met up with us is should be about time for us to ride. It was just going to be the two of us for this ride. I had wanted Asher to go on this with us when planning the trip but I knew after EE and ToT there was no way he was going on that. It was kind of nice to have a ride with just Jamie. We had not done that since before kids. So something like 10 or 11 years. When Wanda got there Asher asked if they could go on the People Mover. He loves that ride. We all do really. I don't know what it is about that ride. Something so simple, yet so fun. Wanda, Asher and Selah head off to the People Mover and Jamie and I go to see about a ride into space. We get over there and have about 5 minutes to wait. We patiently wait for the CM to let us in and then we walk quickly to the ride. We were a little excited. At least I was. Jamie was too, he was just hiding his excitement.
This is first time we have been on this ride in years. The refurb is really cool. We had heard it was completely dark but you don't quite get it until you experience it for yourself. After we got off we both agreed on 2 things. Asher would NOT have liked that ride and there was no way we will ever let Selah on that ride. I know she would love it but if one of us can't sit with her and hold her then she can't ride it. We both felt like there was way too much wiggle room between the seat and restraint bar. We think if she wanted to she could get out. No way she is going on that. We check out the penny presses and found DIME presses! Well, we had to get those for each of the kids because we had never seen dime presses before. We thought that was pretty . Once dimes were pressed we went to find Wanda and the kids. They had just got off the People Mover. Next up was Fantasy Land and what is the first thing you come to in Fantasy Land when coming from Tomorrow Land? The Tea Cups! Time for more spinning. Jamie and Wanda wanted to sit this one out so it was just me and the kids. Jamie took some pics of us on the ride while Wanda took a little break and just sat and rested.
We had another great time on the Tea Cups. Spinning, spinning and more spinning! Selah loves spinning! It doesn't even have to be her spinning. She likes to spin objects too and watch ceiling fans. She just loves all spinning. While on the subject of spinning I have a funny video of the kids with my brother, nieces and his SIL with her son. We went to the St. Patricks day festival here and my brother and his clan were already in line at the spinning strawberries so we let the kids ride with him. He videoed the ride. It is mostly Selah and his SIL because they were the funniest but he scans around the strawberry so you will see Landon (his SIL little boy) and his two youngest, Piper and Berlyn. Here is a link to that video. They were spinning really fast and the reactions in the strawberry from Selah and Michelle (SIL) is pretty funny.
In the video you have Selah, Michelle, Asher, Landon, Piper and Berlyn. In that order. The video should work when you click on it and it is not blurry like the link shows. At least I hope not.
After we finished spinning around and around we headed over to see if we could take a ride with Pooh. On the way Jamie found a certain Mermaid he wanted to get a picture with.
