As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

OK..I just spent the first hour of my day getting caught up on your shenigans with your mom! I it! Between the clucking of "Ghost Riders in the Sky", the partaking of sweet treats, the Yeti, and your photo captions, I've had quite a few giggling episodes.
I absolutely love your new sig pic. . . . . Today's Sweet Tip was my favorite one so far, I think. . . . . Sounds like a blast with the Strobe Lit Yeti . . . . . . Also, when/if you start a PTR for DL - would you post a link? I usually don't look down there Thanks - and can't wait for more!!
There will be a PTR for the DL trip, but I've got to finish this one first. I've got the next update ready, and hope to be able to finish this TR tomorrow (Wednesday the latest), so look for it Wednesday or Thursday (I'll post a link).

Those gorillas especially were just sitting there watching us. And that one that I got the really good shots of, he was actually posing! He made a big production of sitting down like that, then he would sit for a minute and then turn his head the other direction. It was quite funny!

Day Four, Part Two F&WF Round 3, a Mini PassPorter Meet and Mom Likes Me Best!
Mable’s Sweet Tip: Ice cream for dinner is perfectly acceptable.
When we got to WS, I sent Crissy2 a text to find out where she and Crissy1 were. I was hoping to hook up with them at MNSSHP the night before, but my cellphone was dead. DM and I headed to the Wellington, New Zealand kiosk, since we both had the same thing on our minds.
Lamb Slider in a brioche roll $5.00
We both really liked that. When we got to Japan, I couldn’t resist getting another kaki gori. I had fun watching the CM make them (this is the CM who’s there 99% of the time I get a kaki gori).
I got my usual, strawberry.
My DM was concerned I might spill it on my white t-shirt, but I’m a pro. She made me sit down near the American Adventure to finish it.
No spills!
I couldn’t pass Italy without getting the fabulous cream puffs again. And being the sucker that I am for Italian food, I also got the ziti.
Baked Ziti $4.50
Cream Puff with Mascarpone and Gianduja Chocolate $3.50
DM and I shared the ziti, which was pretty good. Unfortunately, DM also wanted one of the cream puffs.
We strolled our way around WS and stopped at the Munich, Germany kiosk for an old favorite.
Regensburger Sausage with sauerkraut in a pretzel roll $3.75
This is a F&WF staple, but it was DM’s first time trying it. She liked it as much as I did. I got a text back from Crissy that they were in Epcot too, so I told her we’d be wandering around WS for a while longer.
We got an FB to share at the Outpost.
I also got a bottle of Sprite. There weren’t any in the cooler, so I asked the CM there if he had any. The second CM (who may have been related to the dumb butt I met at MNSSHP) said that there weren’t any in the cooler when he came in, but there were some in the back. The first (smart) CM looks at him (but doesn’t say “well why didn’t you bring any out?” ) The smart CM goes in the back and brings out a bunch of Sprites. They weren’t very cold, but I didn’t mind. I don’t drink soda much, and warm soda is actually easier on me.
We continued our stroll…
Look what we didn’t ride.
I got a text from Crissy that they were going to watch the British Invasion. I’d never seen a full show of the BI, so I thought that was perfect! We walked over, but DM needed a bathroom break. She wasn’t sure she could find me at the show, so we designated a bench in case she couldn’t find it.
I had no trouble spotting the Crissys. We had some time to gab before the show started, and I was able to find out how they did in the EE 5K Challenge. I really enjoyed meeting them and they were just as I imagined them to be (but with cute Southern accents ). We talked and talked until the show began.
After the show, Crissy1 took a picture, which I’m sure they’ll post over in their TR. DM hadn’t shown up so we said our goodbyes and I went off in search of DM. I’m happy to say she’s good at following directions… she was on the designated bench.
She wanted to get something she’d been eyeing up while she waited for me, so I parked on the bench while she headed to the Puerto Rico kiosk. As I sat there, a man (I think he looked familiar ) looked at me as he passed. That’s not really what happened, but I can’t explain it any better. Anyway, a woman walking behind him said to me “He was checking you out!!” It was actually kind of weird. I think it was one of the BI guys (the one who plays Paul) without the wig and in street clothes, and he'd recognized me from seeing me at the show. At least I hope that’s who it was. Otherwise, I’ve got a stalker.
DM came back with her treat, which was probably the largest offering at the F&WF.
Pastelon de Amarillo (beef and yellow plantain casserole) $2.75
It was ok. A bit mushy, but it tasted pretty good. But it was definitely not one of our favorites. We still had some time before my brother (the one who is not my DM’s favorite) and my DN Brooke were due to arrive from Tampa, so we decided to head to FW for a bit.
We knew we pretty much had no shot at Soarin’, and I didn’t feel like riding TT or M:S (DM doesn’t ride either of those) so we settled on the Universe of Energy. Once that was over, we decided we ought to start making our way back to the BWI.
We did a little shopping. DM wanted to buy an apron, but the one she liked she thought was too expensive (she didn’t want to spend $40 and then get it dirty). She also wanted to stop for something else.
Yeah, McDonalds fries. But I must admit, they were good. When we got to the IG, a boat was waiting (I don’t think we waited more than 2 or 3 times for any form of transportation the whole trip).
We had perfect timing, because just as we were docking at the Boardwalk, Eric was calling to say they were here. Since they only live just over an hour’s drive away, he and Brooke decided to come have dinner with us (DSIL was working and DN Erica was at college).
We had a lot of fun catching up (and laughing – Brooke totally cracks me up). DM was thinking we should head to DTD, but I reminded her the BC was right across the way, and she agreed that we should eat there.
We arrived at Beaches and Cream at a good time, because we only had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated at a booth. As soon as we sat down, I got a call from DN Erica. She interrupted her studies to find out if we were going to tackle a Kitchen Sink. (Erica’s been dying to take on the KS, so we might have to give it a shot in December).
I knew I wanted ice cream, so I tried to find something light for dinner. I settled on the chicken soup, which was tasty.
I didn’t even have to decide on my dessert. No Way Jose.
And being the sweet, considerate aunt that I am, I texted a picture of it to Erica, who was in Tallahassee studying and probably eating Ramen noodles.
DM took a picture of me and my dessert.
Gah! I look awful. I was suffering from allergies (to my shower gel – ack!! Good thing I figured it out after using it for 2 days) and it shows, particularly in my eyes. Brooke had a banana split (she is probably the only person I know who likes bananas more than I do).
Eric (again, not Mom’s favorite – that’s me ) didn’t get any ice cream because he was full from his burger. DM shared my NWJ, but we still couldn’t finish that thing. And Brooke couldn’t finish hers either.
After dinner, we strolled around on the Boardwalk for a while, checking out the entertainment and stuff. My brother isn’t the Disney person the rest of us are, but this is the kind of stuff that will reel him in.
He didn’t want to stay too late since they had an hour’s drive home, so we bid them farewell (after checking out DB’s new gas guzzler) and then we headed back to the room. I’d forgotten to pick up our packages, so I headed down and took care of that. Even though we’d sent two packages back to our resort, only one had made it over. Our MNSSHP purchases would get there the next day (I guess that’s why they don’t want you to do it the day before you check out).
When I got out of the gift shop, Illuminations was going off, so I watched that for a few minutes. Back at the room, I realized that I’d forgotten to check us in for the flight and it was more than 3 hours after check in had opened! We ended up with… A32 and A33. Obviously our flight wasn’t going to be full.
Since we had an early night, and we both wanted to hit the FW attractions at morning EMH the next day, we turned in early after setting the wakeup call.

Ohhh...I am starved for lunch and those pics are making me drool...particularly the cream puffs and No Way Jose. I think I may be Mabels long lost relative because those sweets are high on my list!
