As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Looked like a good meal at Al Forno and glad all of you enjoyed it there and were able to meet up! This looks like a must do on my next WDW trip!

The Butterfingers cupcake looks amazing. I keep telling myself I need to try one, but I'm never hungry enough for Disney's big treats. I think I need to plan a meal free day and just snack my way through. Great report.
All caught up again - great updates! I'm glad you were able to meet up with the family, after getting stuck like that on the Great Movie Ride. I don't think I know of anyone else getting stuck on that....
It was definitely a unique experience!

I think it was just a misjudgment on my part to order the risotto!

I tell myself that as well, but I love ADRs!

As the Italian food is so good where I live and so many eateries to chose from, I hope Al Forno matches up to these standards! I've dined at Tutto Italia on a couple of occasions and found it quite good, but not nearly to what I'm used to living just outside of NYC! It's a tough act to follow in this area.

Ellie had her 5am wake up call and was out the door. It was so great to get to spend this time with her after all those years! I stayed in bed my alarm was set for about 6:15 but I snoozed all the way to 7am. Ooopsies! I was supposed to meet my dad at MK at 8 for opening…
It was colder this morning than I anticipated so I changed my outfit plan and then I started to finish up my packing and realized I had some rearranging to do so by 7:40 I knew I wouldn't be making it and texted my dad. They were running late too! I was finally ready at about 10 after 8 and called down for bell services. I had a great bellman and it was quick and easy to get all checked in with my magical weight skills having my roller at 48 pounds I did check my second bag instead of using it as a carry on. I shopped a little too hard this trip! Checked wait times at MK while I had my short wait for the bus and lots of 5 and 10 minutes still... Such a pity I overslept I could have gotten soooo much done this morning with the extra hour!!
A bus came a few minutes later and the driver announced standing room only but there were seats in the back and with no one else going for them I was like "well here I come" and made my way through. It was a backwards seat which is so strange when traveling alone! A very nice couple is sitting across from me though and I'm wrote up some trip report on the ride
I finally arrived at MK just before 9 and headed off to Space Mountain which was about a 5 minute wait. I was going to head off for some Cinderella and Rapunzel time next and my dad was on the monorail! I headed to Princess Fairytale Hall and told him to meet me in Fantasyland.
I had about a 10 minute wait and had very quick interactions with the princesses. Cinderella liked my jewels and asked if my fairy godmother made them. I told her I had to buy them and she said I should ask next time! She was a bit mumbled and seemed rushed but still cute!
I exited and immediately saw Scotty and Belle but apparently dad was looking for me. We looped the Carousel and looked all over and finally found him! Then I rode with Scotty and Belle while dad wanted to take pictures... But never saw us on the ride!
They had a FP+ for the Speedway which I am not a fan of so I let them go enjoy and got one for Buzz but instead headed to Storybook Circus to find a snack. I got a chocolate covered strawberry and another cake pop because they were so good! I love knowing that my annual pass discount works in just about every store I also noticed no wait for Goofy or Donald! With no one behind me I was hoping for some good photo time but still kind of got rushed through which was a bummer.
I started heading to Tomorrowland next and ran right into the fam! After a quick potty break we were on our way to the Peoplemover!
After our ride in the sky it was time to head to “brunch.” It was still technically a breakfast seating though. We had to wait a few minutes to be sat after we checked in but then it was pretty smooth sailing. I always love the Pooh’s Puffed French Toast here and the omelet station is a great touch. We debated staying a bit longer as the lunch food was just about to come out but we were stuffed!
The characters were lovely as always and we left with full bellies! Unfortunately it was time to say goodbye as I had to head back to wait out the DME arrival and they were going to stay and enjoy the park a bit longer. I headed towards the Main Street Train Station and they headed back into the park for fun!
There was a stage show finishing up so I took a few photos from the back as I wandered. I was happy to spot the Dapper Dans on my way out and enjoyed for a few minutes before continuing on.
I said farewell to the MK and headed back to the resort. With a stop at the Gurgling Suitcase I was off to MCO in no time. I had lunch/dinner at On the Border once I got to the right area of the airport and had an uneventful flight home. It was a newer plane and I had a little Mickey snack to extend the magic
