As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Before I post this next update, while I was working on it tonight, I received a phone call that Grampy (100 yrs old) was just taken to the hospital via ambulance and was unresponsive . While I am sitting waiting for more information I will continue with my post.........but of course, my mind is elsewhere right now. As much as I know he had had an incredible life (and just celebrated 77 years of marriage yesterday!) it is still so very sad and I am so worried what this will do to my MIL - she didn't sound good on the phone.
will update TR in the next post.....................

Tonight we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and so-called family (Stepmother & Stepsisters!). We always enjoy this meal – and tonight was no different……..except that Prince Charming was taking care of royal duties and was not able to join us for dinner, however, the Fairy Godmother happily filled in!
After taking the family photo, we were sat in that far away back room…..those of you who have been there know which one I am talking about!
So we began filling our tummies with delicious food – Emily was VERY excited that they had sushi and the strawberry soup!
I had ordered a mojito!!
The Royal ones started coming around……….first up was the Fairy Godmother:
Then Miss Cinderella herself……..she is always so beautiful!
Then came Lady Tremaine……….always in character! LOVE her attitude!
Anastacia:
Drizella ~ she is always trying to steal Scott away, so he found the perfect shirt to wear for tonight’s dinner!
Of course, Emily couldn’t leave without sampling some desserts……okay, we all may have sampled!
After dinner, we took the monorail over to Magic Kingdom (they were open till Midnight tonight!) and our first stop was in Exhibition Hall to say hi to Mickey!
Then we stopped in Stitch’s Great Escape to see if he was still causing trouble!
Next, we crossed the path over to Monsters Inc Laugh Floor.
While waiting in line, Em had sent a text in for the joke……….hers was picked!! It went something like this:
Why can’t Cinderella be on the soccer team?
Because she always runs away from the ball!
She was sooooooooooo excited that they picked hers to tell!!!
After many laughs and dealing with Roz, we went next door to take a spin on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!
Scott & I look so serious!!!
Then we kept up with the Space theme, and went back on Space Mountain…………I still really really do NOT like this ride!!! But somehow, I always manage to make it look like I do in the photo………..thinking if they took this photo at the end of the ride, I might not quite look so happy!
When we came off Space Mountain there was a Photopass Photographer there, so of course we stopped! (this was the first time I have ever seen them here!)
Now it was time to see the new Storybook Circus area all lit up at night! I couldn’t wait to ride Dumbo at night!!!
After our spin on Dumbo……..that did not happen without an interruption…….we had gotten on the ride – just got to where you can control going up and down and all of a sudden, the ride was coming back down and stopping………….apparently a child stood up in their Dumbo!!! YIKES!!! So they had to stop the ride, everyone had to get off, back to the loading area, and re-board the ride!! There were quite a few unhappy people……..and yes – they allowed the child with the parent back on!
Dumbo was beautiful all lit up!!!
Then we rode Goofy’s Barnstormer! Another fun one at night!!
Then we realized that Pete’s Silly Sideshow was open!!!! This is the new meet and greet area for Minnie, Daisy, Donald & Goofy!!!! Now we knew why Minnie was not with Mickey at the Theater!!!
So entered we did!!! It was so neat in there!!! Set up like a circus tent – and each character has their circus theme area!
Minnie – the poodle poodle trainer!
Daisy – the Fortune Teller!
Goofy – the Cannonball!
And Donald the Snake Tamer!
Donald got a KICK out of being able to sign Em’s shoe!
After our fun at the circus, we headed for Fantasyland and took a flight on Peter Pan’s flight – and then went into Mickey’s Phillarmagic!! LOVE this show!!!
After all this, it was getting close to midnight and not only was the park about to close, but so were our eyes!!
But of course, we had to stop for a few Photopass photos!!!
Up Next: We found a Tree Hugger!!!

for Grampy and for your family. Especially hard when these things happen over the holidays.
I LOVE all the t-shirts for this night! Ems is really pretty, Scotts is perfect for the occasion, and I really covet yours!! All the mice! Such wonderful photos, can't pick a favorite.
Looks like a fun dinner with Cinderella and Family. I love how the Stepmother and Stepsisters are so in character. You guys certainly had a fun night at MK and how fun that Em's joke got chosen!!
Great pics from your evening in MK Have to say that Anastasia didn't seem too impressed with Tall Dark and handsom have to go next time and see if Short Pale and Gruesome is more her type, Photopass pic of Em's reaction to kiss priceless. Have comment on two more From looks there was just a bit of cometion on Buzz LIghtyear going on and on RnR earlier you look so happy did you have a little green guy stowing away in your car?

Great meal at 1900 Park Fare! We've had to sit in that out of the way room once. It kind of felt like being in time out. Great evening at MK! I want to ride Dumbo at night. BTW-- I love your t-shirt!
Unfortunately, Grampy did pass yesterday afternoon. Although it is very sad, he lived an amazing 100 years of life! Was married to the love of his life for 77 years. He definitely gave the rest of us hope and determination! He will be greatly missed.
We are unsure as of yet what the arrangements will be - there is quite a bit of out of town family and he wants to be cremated, therefore, it looks like services will not take place until after the new year.
Scott is insisting that our trip will still happen and that Grampy would not want us to change anything. So we will celebrate his life.

Thanks - it does make it harder around the holidays. Em found hers that day at DHS - she wears it all the time! Can't remember where I found mine - have had it for years!
