I Don’t Wanna Grow Up – 30th Birthday Trip x2, August 7-11, 2010 - Page 27 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I can also see a slight difference. You're a little more pointy...if that makes sense. I'll never understand people sometimes and their oblivian to personal space and courtesy. Thank goodness I never had anyone touch my belly that wasn't family or a close friend, but if I had I probably would have looked at them with a "don't even think about it" look.

Glad you enjoyed the movie…even my 15 yo said it was his favorite of the 3. Good idea having a Toy Story marathon We would only be able to have a mini-marathon because some little 5 year old…I won’t name names… decided to slide the DVD for the first one down the wall while he walked down the stairs with it and now it’s a wee bit scratched up.
Sooooo glad Dylan is not allergic…with my boys being allergic to other things, especially Jason, I worry about that all the time. And you are not big, you are adorable. I was always amazed at how it seems that as soon as you tell anyone you are pregnant, you become public property for touching and comments. I don’t get it.
Glad you liked Toy Story 3. I still haven't seen it. I'm hoping to go this weekend. And now I'm all angry on your behalf. You are a little bigger than you were with Dylan, but not that big at all. Nosy McToucherson needs to mind her own business!

Mickey's so happy to see me back, he can barely contain himself!
I would have been totally upset as well, while there is a bit of difference between the pregnancy now and with Dylan I think you look wonderful in both, you are really carrying in my opinion very compact, you look great.
I love Dylan in his big boy bed....what the perfect picture.
Great update - wow, I can see the difference between the two bumps, but you know what, you look like you are carrying it perfectly - and I'm not just saying that. It really suits you!
Thank so much for the sweet comments Cheryl!

I have said 'don't touch me' to others too - she just snuck in (and around papers I was carrying). She's also the person that will hug you and stuff - not my idea of what co-workers do, especially at work!

Sorry about your DVD. Boys!
Thanks Dawn for thinking I'm adorable!
I keep saying I want a sign that says 'hands off' to post on my belly.

After posting the pic I do see that I'm bigger than I was with Dylan, but it seems like that happens after the 1st time and it's not like I'm twice the size. Plus there are other pregnant people here at work that are right around the same time frame as me and we're all pretty much even I think.
And I love the new nickname for her: Nosy McToucherson!! I'll have to use that when I talk about her now.

Thank you for the kind words too!
And thanks about Dylan - I couldn't resist getting a pic - I had to turn the light on in the hall to get it though - thank goodness he's a pretty heavy sleeper!!
Got another pregnancy story for you:
Today we had our monthly department communications meeting. From April to September/October we have them outside at our pavilion which is about a 5-7 minute walk from our building - outdoors. So I get down there and one guy says 'I'm surprised you walked.' WHY?! 'Well because of your, your,.....' Someone else said jokingly 'what her condition?' and he concurred. I'm pregnant, not an invalid! This coming from someone who's wife has had 2 babies!! Some people! So we've been talking about my 'condition' today.
Glad Dylan is okay after his sting! You look fine, and I would have just said something rude back to the woman who said it to you (how many weeks along are you? is always good!!)!

A co-worker of mine said I should have said something back to her along the lines of 'how's that divorce diet going for you?' since she's going through a divorce and has noticeably dropped quite a bit of weight.
Dylan is just adorable sleeping in his big boy bed!! How has it been going? Going on a week or so now?
And you do really, you look great Kelly. I think you look like (in your pics) you have more "glow" this time around.
I say you just carry around a switch or ruler and start swatting hands (like a fly) that enter the personal space!! I didn't have that issue when I was pregnant with Stephanie. She lived under my rib cage (I couldn't breathe well) so when I would tell people I was pregnant and then tell them how far along I was they thought I was lying. Then she decided she wanted nothing more to do with the inside of tummies and wanted to be out in the real world, 3 months early!!!
Your movie marathon before TS3 was a good idea. I have thought about doing that too before we finally go to see it.
So glad that Dylan is not allergic to bee stings! It sounds like he handled the whole thing very well!
I love Dylan's big boy bed! The Wall-E sheets are adorable!
I think you look great! You look very happy!!
With every one of my pregnancies, I carried all three boys differently.
I wouldn't worry about what your co-workers are saying!
You look adorable!
So great that Dylan is not allergic to bees. Both my sisters are and as a kid it made me so nervous. I notice a difference in your two bumps, but you truly look great. That co-work needs some manner classes!

In other news: Dylan got stung by a bee yesterday at school. It's the first time he's been stung and we've learned he's not allergic, so that's good. You couldn't even see a mark by the time I picked him up. His teacher said he cried for a minute and then was fine after some ice and baking soda. He talked about the whole 5 minute drive home and then some though.

I sure don't mean to alarm you, but thought I would share this. I got stung by a bee for the first time when I was 16. Turns out I started to have a pretty bad reaction, so after a trip to the ER they set up a whole serious of allergy tests for me, just of bees. Turns out there are 5 different types and I happened to be allergic to 3. So I would still be carefull any time he ( or anyone really) gets stung by a bee, might be a different one from the time before.
As for the pesky co-worker, next time she says something dumb again pull out the whole "And when are you due??" Works like a charm to shut up the idiots.
You are as far along as I will be when we head down to Disney in October. Which makes me feel good because you look great!
Ouch! The nerve of some people! I just have to share this -- well because its funny. When I was teaching highschool I had more than a few kids ask if I was pregnant (public high school does not teach manners apparently) and I got so fed up that I just started replying--no I'm just fat. (I also got asked about a million times how many children I had--why I didn't have any children and why I wasn't married--most of the girls I taught had kids before they graduated)
Dylan looks so comfy in his big-boy bed! I'll never understand why pregnancy makes people think they have the right to get so personal--not to mention, downright rude. And you're not BIG! You look wonderful and healthy. (I love how we all get so defensive for you!)

Dylan's been sleeping in his big boy bed for about 2.5 weeks now. We have trouble getting into bed - no problem getting upstairs, but then he just runs all over or doesn't wnt his diaper changed or pj's on. It's a bit of a battle, but we're trying to work through it. He does stay in it though - until morning - he woke me up today.
Steph was early! Dylan loved kicking me in the ribs and so does this little boy - this one seems to move around a lot more though. Last night I felt kicking/punching/whatever on both sides on my belly!

Thanks so much for your nice comments! Dylan also got TS3 sheets - I can't wait to see what they look like on the bed!!

Good to know about the bees! Hopefully it won't happen again - I can't remember the last time I was ever stung.
I don't think I knew you were pregnant - CONGRATULATIONS!!! And have fun in October - you can take advantage of all that food at the F&WF!

I think you look fabulous by the way!
I can't believe kids asked those questions of you! I guess bad manners start out early! People need to learn to Mind Their Own Business!!

Thanks Laurie! And I love all the outrage everyone has - makes me feel better for the anger I felt at it. By the way - love that new sig pic - so pretty!!
38 days to go: Disney re-released the film The Aristocats to theaters.
So I'm trying to decide if I want to pay the $10 each fee to do early check-in with Southwest this trip. I'm thinking yes and for both ways as I hear the front row is good because you have the wall to put your feet up on - need to keep swelling down as much as possible, plus we'll be able to get off earlier. Mike also seems to have a problem checking in on-line so I wonder if this would make a difference or not. Usually he has to check in at the airport and gets a 'B' boarding pass. Opinions?
