The Third Time’s the Charm! Fourth (Third) Annual Mom and Me Trip--Updated twice on 10/21--now COMPLETE - Page 27 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Okay... I'm givin' you fair warning, Sha-sha... THIS has now become my favorite saying of yours and I will be using it loudly and frequently in December:
“Where is he? Where is he? Where is… AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!”
Heeee! That's a riot and I totally get how not seeing the yeti until the last second could scare a girl.
Eileen
I wonder if that CM that asked you which BWI you were staying at also calls the MK "Disney World".
Great pictures of the parade! Looks like the grave digger got a new dog. Sounds like the party was a big hit. I was cracking up about the Clara thing. The first time I saw her in the parade and realized she was singing, no clucking Ghost Rider's, I was thinking WTH? I think you summed up how she came to be in the parade perfectly! I also have to wonder what the Imagineers were doing before they came up with the idea.
Love your pictures from the trail. That gorilla has one mighty fierce look in his eyes!
Ok - first of all.......great pictures of MNSSHP!
All of those pics bring back such fun memories of my trip last October!
I so love that parade and party!
Your interaction with all of the characters is great! I really laughed out loud when I read what Jane said!
Your pics at LTT are so cute! I just your Minnie hat! You look so "Minnieish"!!
I have to ask - didn't you and your mom go down the path between Toontown and Tomorrowland? That is where we found Candyland! They gave us candy by the fist full!! Your mom would have been in candy heaven!
How fun that you rode EE so many times in a row! The Yeti experience sounds kind of spooky!
Your trip on the safari was a good one - by looking at those pics!
Don't ya just love those beautiful giraffes??
Great updates Sharon!
I'm just catching up on updates today, and I have a question for you. Was the guy making monkey noises in the elevator by himself, or with his family or something? I mean, I live with some guys who make monkey (and other types) of noises...just wonderin'...
And Yeti terrifies me no matter what, but not as much as that dang Dinosaur ride.
I'm so glad i finally got caught up on your TR! I will say your pics of MNSSHP were great and i really hate that we missed each other that night. You were cracking me up talking about your mom eating all that candy. They poured it into our bag at the end of the night...we totally racked up! I loved your view of the parade in Frontierland. That was a great viewing spot! We walked right on all the rides that night too! it was great....I love that minnie hat you purchased for the party. Crissy one fell in love with that hat too and tried it on!
I cant believe you were able to ride everest that many times!! He mustve malfunctioned the day after we were there because he was up and running the day before but i really would like to have seen the scary stobe light yeti ! that wouldve been too cool!
Cant wait for more!!
Great photos! I love the multiple rides on EE, I aspire to do that some day. Sounded like a nice leisurely morning at AK. And that's a great shot on your balcony, very inviting!! Looking forward to what you guys sample next at Epcot...

Super update! Love all your animal pictures. Did they say anything on the safari about the new baby giraffe? I'm hoping to see him next week. I baby animals.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to make mousekeeping envelopes. I'll have to go look for an Eileen post for her link to envelopes.
No, he didn't mention the new baby giraffe. I didn't find out about it until I read it in the Allears newsletter.

I went down the path in Toontown. The Alice in Wonderland one right? DM had already gone back to our room by then (though I wouldn't be surprised to learn that she hit that path before she left the park since that's her favorite one).

Wonderful updates! See ya soon!
The monkey guy was with his family, but I think the monkey noises were new to them. Even they were giving him odd looks. And I can't wait to meet you!

I'm so bummed that my phone died on me and we couldn't hook up. I was on the lookout for y'all but I never saw either of you. DM left before they really started loading you up with candy, so I got a lot more than her. She was sorry she left so early.

I absolutely love your new sig pic. . . . . Today's Sweet Tip was my favorite one so far, I think. . . . . Sounds like a blast with the Strobe Lit Yeti . . . . . . Also, when/if you start a PTR for DL - would you post a link? I usually don't look down there Thanks - and can't wait for more!!

No, I'll be going to MVMCP with my family on 12/16.
We'll be there on the 16th too! Are there going to be any meets? I'd really like to meet some more Passporters.......especially you! Let me know, my DD1 would get a kick out of meeting you. She is always jealous of how many trips you get to take.
Okay, you put so much good stuff in your tr's that it's hard to respond to it all (just thought I would mention that ).
First of all, I have to second Eileen on the "Where is he? Where is he? Where is he? AAAAHHHH!!!!" remark! That is perfection! I can just hear that little voice inside your head saying as your head frantically turned from side to side! Now how many different ways and times can we use that phrase in December?!?
And Sharon, Disney should really hire you to be a hand holder for those nervous first time riders. You have such a calm and soothing way about you that I'm sure you made those first timers feel much better (unlike Mary Devall who continues to tell first time riders that they should be scared ).
That picture of you waving from the balcony just says it all "I'm Sharon; I'm here at Disney; And I'm fabulous!"
What a great morning in AK...seems like they knew they had to out do themselves and make sure that you got a thrill and I guess it worked...Glad you enjoyed the "Yeti" on your four journeys up the mountain. Sounds like you had some great ride companions on your trip...but they were the lucky ones. If they only knew they were riding with the legendary Princess
Great photos from your safari trail and ride...love the gorillas, they definitely look like they are just waiting for the cameras. Glad the giraffes were out in full force, they look so beautiful just relaxing on the savannah.
Can't wait to hear all about your afternoon in Epcot...
