Wait!!! Wasn't this supposed to be a weekend trip? TR COMPLETE 11/2 - Page 26 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sounds like a great morning! Everest is my favorite ride! Glad Jasmine was feeling better when you returned. Sounds like some down time was a good thing.
Wow!! 8 times on EE... I did it 3 times in a row after the EE 5k race and that was plenty for me!!
Angel looks cute as a yeti
And I'm sorry Jasmine missed AK with her headache, but so glad she was better when you got back.
Wow, eight times on Expedition Everest! It must've been a hot day - I can't believe the wait time for the Rapids hit 100 minutes!
It was our hottest day Cheryl - I never mind the heat but it was unbearable even for me. I was shocked when I saw the standby time and it was still pretty early, I think the whole park was trying to cool off. The misting area by Africa, people were just standing there endlessly (us included).

Angel was very proud of herself I was happy to see Jasmine was feeling better, I was really gld she did stay behind as it was so hot, I think she would have been miserable.

The extra sleep and the AC did help - she really looked terrible when I left her in the morning. Angel was super excited with her 8 trips on EE, she said she is going for 9 next time

I am so sorry Jasmine was sidelined with a bad headache but glad it subsided and she was ready to swim in the afternoon.
Danielle
Angel is waiting for her marathon with Izzy She says an EE and ToT marathon is much better than a water park

Two was enough for me Cam...I got really exicted when the first one did not bother my neck, but second trip....I knew right at that moment when we went backwards that it was over for me for this trip. Whatever was bothering my neck seemed to have dissappeared finally after a few weeks of the orthopedist so I am keeping my fingers crossed for next year.

She would more than enjoy giving you support Linny I think if I let her she would stay there and be a single rider all day.

As much as I hated leaving her, she made a good call, the heat would have only made her head worse. EE is Angel's second favorite ride...Splash Mountain still holds her heart for 1st.

2 or 3 in a row is it for me as well - Angel has all the thrill junkie genes of our family.
Tonight's plans had changed a few times during planning, originally we were going to do the YS for dinner with my sister but then she decided she did not want to get dressed up so we were going to do Koizzana. Then she did not want to spend a lot on a meal so we planned B&C. Finally she told me that she and my nephew were going to head back to their resort so the girls and I planned a low key evening.
A friend of mine flew in earlier today so I figured I would stop by to see her at the BC when we headed over to B&C for dinner. Then we were just going to let the kids visit and maybe enjoy the movie on the beach - but first there was a pool calling my name.
I got into my suit and headed down to meet the girls who were already enjoying the pool.
As we relaxed this little critter was very busy with some bread that had been left on the ground.
They had some pool games going on, Angel particiapted for a while but then she just practiced her swimming for a bit while Jasmine and I relaxed in the sun. We stayed at the pool for about 2 -3 hours and then decided to head up to shower and take a slow walk over to the BC.
So we are all ready to leave, we step out the door and Angel realizes she does not have her shoes on. Ok, no problem except....you guessed it I left the room cards in the room. So I leave the girls at the room and I took the long, long walk down many hallways to the elevator and to the lobby to see if concierge could help me.
They were great and within a few minutes I had a new room card and I headed back through the long, long hallways to our roo. The girls had kept themselves occupied. Angel was practicing gymnastics and Jasmine was taking pictures.
We went in to grab Angel's shoes and the other room cards but Angel wanted to use the bathroom first. Jasmine decided it was the perfect time to take some more pictures from the balcony.
We took the stairs down and took the outside path (I had enough of the hallways already ). It was still really hot so we just took a slow stroll - we had no set time to be anywhere so it was nice just to walk at our own pace.
We got to B&C and signed in - there was about a 45 minute wait so we all took a seat outside and just relaxed. But it was hot....then the girls decided they did not want to wait. It was fine so I told the girl at the desk that we decided just to grab something to go and I had a chocolate shake (which is what I truly was craving), and Jasmine had a vanilla one. We still did not know what we wanted to eat, we wandered over to the Captain's Grill but nothing really was calling out to Jasmine so we decided to head over to see if we could get in to Koizzana.
My friend had texted that they were at the Garden Grill, the kids were overtired and cranky so we decided that she would get them settled in the room with her husband and then we would just relax for a few in the lobby so I told her to text me when she was ready.
We stopped on the beach for a bit...
When we got to Koizzana the girls decided they did not want that either - they wanted something quick and easy, we were almost going to head over to the Big River Grill when Jasmine announces she wanted a corn dog....ok if that is what you want so she ran to go get one of those while I headed into the bakery with Angel. They brought the chef out who said he would be able to make her a sandwich in the back for her so that is what she had. I still did not know what I wanted and my friend texted to say that they were heading back.
The girls decided to hang out on the BW for awhile, they said I should go have some adult time and that they would meet me in the room after. We parted ways and headed back to the BC.
I just love WDW at sunset, I think it is one of the most beautiful times, well that and sunrise
I met up with her in the lobby, they had been up since 4 and while they were all super excited when they got there, the heat and the early morning had finally got to them, she said she could not wait to get out of dinner and just get them back to the room. We spent a good hour catching up in the lobby, then I got a text from my co-worker, he and his dad had eaten dinner at CMC so they came over for a bit and we all just relaxed and talked. My friend finally decided she was tired as well so we said our goodbyes and I walked out with my co-worker and his dad. We talked for a few minutes and then they were heading to their car and I headed back over to meet up with the girls.
As I was walking back to the BW I realized I was starving...I fed everyone else but forgot to eat myself. I texted the girls, they were at the pool so I headed over to meet them. They had spent some time watching some of the acts on the BW after I left, and then had a snack before heading to the room to change into their suits. A breeze had finally broken through and it felt so nice. We spent another hour or so at the pool, took a final walk on the Boardwalk and then headed upstairs so I could finish packing. I was starved at this point so I ordered a turkey club from room service...I am not sure if it was becuase I was starving or if it really was as good as it tasted but it was delicious.
Packing was complete...I always hate going to sleep that last night because you know when you wake up it is all over . None of us were tired, or maybe we were just fighting it. We thought about what we wanted to do tomorrow. Our DME pick-up wasn't under 6:45 so we had pretty much the whole day but the girls wanted Epcot (I did not mind their choice at all). There were still areas of the WS we wanted to concentrate on, Angel needed to more stamps for her Passport and Jasmine said she would not mind one last ride on Soarin either.
I think I forgot to mention but when we were at Epcot earlier in the week with my sister the kids had gotten to pin trading with a CM in a DVC booth, we got into talking and we ended up signing up for a DVC member presentation about Alauni. They were going to pick us up at 9:45, I asked the girls if they still wanted to do that as well and they did so our plans were set. We would get up, check out, head to the presentation and then spend our last hours enjoying Epcot.
By this point we all were tired....so we shut off the lights and soon we all drifted off to sleep....finally.

Can't believe your trip's almost over. I always hate the last night at WDW.
I don't think I ever sleep well on that last night. I think we always try to make that last evening just last and last

The girls really enjoy leisure time at the pool, more and more each trip. Actually really makes the trip seem longer, spending some of the day at the pool, then some time at the parks - and great for refueling some energy for more fun back at the parks.

I like that we had the almost full day as our last day though so at least we had some more fun to have before heading back home.
We loved EE... but... once was ... well maybe we could have done it twice, but 8 times? Angel, Darlin', I am in awe... that's all!!!
Except for the fact that you ate too late (which gives me indigestion these days) I like the "just eat when it hits you" method. It works quite well when you don't want to take the time to sit down for an hour or so.
I'm so glad the girls got some "Sister Time" in, and you got a little "Friend Time" to yourself without giving up too much "Family Time". It just seems to have worked out so well.
I am sorry it is coming to an end. But, let's not get too disappointed, too soon... you still have almost a whole day to go!!!!
