The way We do a Disney Re-Do ~~ Beach club Aug 13-22 - FINISHED!!! 1/20 - Page 26 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Loved the update, glad you had such a great meal at Le Cellier. We have really enjoyed our meals there but we could not get it this past trip seeing your DH's filet just had my mouth watering.

That tomato stack looks nothing like what I get, ok not nothing it's just that it's stacked, hence the name tomato stack. I mean that wouldn't make it taste any different, just weird. Sorry you didn't enjoy it, I LOVE it!!!
Sounds like you all had a great day at Epcot. Great pics too! I love Delaneys minnie ears. I saw them while I was there and I almost got some for my DD but in the end didn't. I just think they are so cute and so much better then a headband.
I would love to see a picture of what your tomato stack looked like...

Thanks for the comment on my DS looking like me...DH always seems to get that for Ben, and I get it for the girls, although I think Ben and the littlest look most like me...

I thought we were getting another one somewhere along the line..with my whole family...but it did not appear on the disk. We also missed one that was taken with fairy wings...I investigated that while still at WDW and was told it was removed from quality control because the photog was not in a sanctioned location for that shot. So I figured it must have been the same with our misisng hangglider shot...SAD!

Did your children enjoy Le Cellier? We may try lunch there as well.
The kids liked LeCellier fine. DS kept ordering the kids pizza as his kids meal, and he was never a fan of how it came. His favorite "kids" pizza was at Cali Grill last trip and the typical kids pizza could not compare. I think they would have been happier with the food if they had gone with the kids steak options...They all liked the bread!

Your family is adorable..............am I seeing a yellow matching theme going on??? Love that too!!!!!
I saw so many well-thought out family pictures with coordinating clothes that I did make an attempt. Although it rarely materialzed--what with all the clothing changes to account for the HOT weather, and not specifically shopping for matching clothes before the trip. I also discovered (when I got home) that half of DS's clothes were in a cabinet at home (so we were not tripping over piles of clothes to be packed!) So that also got in the way of the matching...I doubt I will make the attempt for next trip...If I could pull it off like you did...maybe...halfway is not worth the effort
Hannah LOVED Mission Space. She loved everything about it. DH said he has never seen her so excited on a ride. I kept trying to get her to explain what she loved so much about it. She could only say, with pure joy..."the feeling of it!."
DH said Mission Space Orange Team was almost too much for him to handle; but he would do it again if she wanted to.
Ben wanted it to stop. He was moaning. His eyes were closed. He was holding on for dear life. It made him sick. Very sick. So sick they had to leave the park. No more rides for him…
Can you tell Ben is a bit sick in the photo below?
They decided to walk Ben back to the room and then return to do another round on Mission Space…
Oh…that is why they were back so soon…
Not quite…Picture this…
The three walked from FW, through WS, back along the path to our resort. As they were approaching the side entrance to the BC, Ben said he felt better and would like to go back and do more rides—just not Mission Space. Hannah agreed that she would rather have them all together on other rides than do to MS again (sometimes she is so sweet!). So they turned around, went back through the gates (security, tickets, and all), back through WS, into FW, to the Land pavilion…when Ben says he will puke if he goes on any more rides. He needed to go back home.
I was not there, so I can only assume how DH may have responded, and I certainly have no right to try and detail there here…
What I know is this: For the second time in about a hlaf hour, they walked through FW, through WS, through the exit, back along the path to the BC, and back to our room. (Again, in this moment, I so appreciate the proximity of the BC to Epcot!!)
DH would not be going back again. He was frustrated with DS. But it was nice that we had another night in bed art a relatively early time (10:00?).
I have to come back to read the newest update. I can't wait! But wanted to respond to a couple things here. I will comment in bold right in the quote.

I agree! Hannah looks a whole lot like your DH. But something in the eyes, Ben looks like you. I actually think he is the best combo of you both, as I think Delaney looks just like you!
Definitely try it!!

I have seen Linny's profile pics (which are really cute, and good looking bc of the matching, btw) and I have to say that as a one child parent (right now for Linny ) it would be so much easier to coordinate than with 3 kids, so I wouldn't feel bad about it Shelly!
I'm pretty sure I would have lost my cool a little(or maybe more than a little) walking back and forth so kuddos to your hubby.
Looking forward to more....
Aww...poor Ben and poor DH!! Glad to hear Hannah loved MS! I can understand not be able to explain it, it's just the feeling you get.
Hoped Ben felt better soon, I can relate, I choose not to go on the teacups last year, but this year where it was only me and mom, I went on. Well I felt sick for the next hour and a half, I was mere milliseconds from wanting to leave and started to feel better.
Loved the pic, Hannah looked SO happy, but yes Ben looked as if he was holding onto the pole for dear life! LOL Not good for him, but quite a memory with the pic. I was the first pic I have seen where Ben didn't have the ear to ear smile, I missed it...
Can't wait to hear more!
After reading this, I think I will attempt to do the baby section of MS. I'm not brave enough to try the other one. I've heard you either really like it, or you don't and that you can feel sick for hours after (I'm afraid of that). I'm glad Hannah LOVED it though! and my heart when AWWWWW when she said she would rather them all be toghether riding other rides than not be. That is soooooo sweet. Like One Little Spark said, "Poor Ben, and Poor DH". That had to be rough for the both of them, and I could totally see and relate to both of them for I would have felt the same way being in either of there shoes. Can't wait to read more.
I got sick on the green side, of course they tried to get me to ride Soaring right after and I have a well publicized fear of edge so no go on Soaring. I can't imagine doing orange, they'd be cleaning the capsule that is for sure.

Now why would the photographer even take the picture if it wasn't in a "sanctioned" spot. That stinks! We had some go missing off our CD this year too (but I never found out why) and I was really sad - they were fun ones with the Prince Naveen frog
Glad that Hannah enjoyed MS! And my DH would have been SO frustrated if that had happened with our kids

How that Hannah loved MS! Poor Ben though! I've been sick like that from rides before, thinking I'm feeling better only to get sick feeling all over again. Very yucky!
