Maybe I Will Get It Right This Time- The Third Time's The Charm TR Updated 11/2 with Playhouse Disney Play 'n Dine Breakfast - Page 26 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! Happy belated birthday.
What a way to start a Disney trip. That is just yucky!! Glad they came quickly and fixed it for you guys.
I know, it was yucky, but they did fix it right away.

Can't wait to read more, especially about your stay at Kidani! We've never stayed outside of Pop, but one day
I'm so sorry that you had to read that. I don't want this to change anyone's opinion of Pop. Everything else was very clean and we've stayed there before and never had a problem.

Thanks. My birthday was nice. I did get a new Nikon D3000 from DH. I'm trying to figure it out, but I love it.

I'm sorry. I've just been so busy with work and trying to get the kids settle in school. Aidan just started Pre-K and it's taking a lot of adjusting to.

Your boys are just so adorable and I loved hearing their reactions when you revealed the real destination of your trip!! If someone suprised me with a trip to WDW, I'd be crying tears of joy too!
Hurry back!
Mel
Thank you for reading my TR and for your nice comments about my boys.

Thanks Susan. I'm here. Now I have to catch up on your PTR and so many more.
It is great to hear people with a positive additude like yours, despite the negative things that happened. Look forward to reading about 1900 PF breakfast. Our family loved it there. Also can't wait to hear about your stay at Kidani. We'll be there in Dec.
Thanks. Regardless of what goes wrong, it's still Disney. You will love Kidani. It is amazing! Make sure your kids check out Community Hall. They have so many fun activities.

Sorry about the cheerios, that was so nasty. Next time just tell them you don't want breakfast in bed.
Thanks Mayra. I did try to dress the boys alike, but after a while it became too difficult and I gave up. I will definitely be requesting no breakfast in bed next time, lol.

Thanks. I always have trouble with all my cameras. Can't wait to take my new Nikon to Disney.

Thanks. You should definitely try 1900 Park Fare breakfast. The food and characters are great.
I never did get in to look around Basin and that's one of the things I wanted to do. Sorry you got overwhelmed in there! I thought I spotted one in DTD too - anyone know if I was seeing things or is there one there now too?

we headed over to Basin which I was dying to check out. I'd never been inside before and had planned on buying something. Well, the store did not disappoint. I ended up getting so overwhelmed (wanting to buy everything), that I bought nothing. Does that make sense? I just had no idea what to get and everyone was rushing me since they wanted to get to MK and were not interested in the least bit in checking out the store. I am definitely buying something there next trip.
I know exactly what you mean. It's like you spend so much time making sure everyone else gets to do what they want or buy what they want, then when you get to your stuff, everyone's like..."are you ready?"...."we are ready to go here or there" ....or they kind of stand around looking like "how much longer do you think you'll be??"Ummm..."let's just go....I'll do this some other time!!!" That is why I sooooo loved my solo morning at MK!!!!!!!!! I love my guys, but sometimes.... But...we are Moms and that's what we do! Gee.....I think you hit a nerve with me, huh??? LOL Anyhow...the Basin rocks!!! So plan a little solo shopping trip just for you next trip!!!!
It sounds like you guys had a great time at 1900 PF . . . but no pics of Strawberry Soup? Please tell me you tried it! What kind of camera are you using? Some of them are fabulous, but others look a little grainy. You might just need to adjust the settings! I love Basin and all the smells, but I never end up buying anything either--its so overwhelming! Can't wait to read about your day at MK!

Yes, I have also seen one in DTD, but I haven't been inside it.

Susan, that's exactly how it was. I guess it is definitely a mommy thing. I will definitely shop at Basin next time and I will not feel guilty (okay maybe just a little guilty, lol.)

Thank you. A lot of people think my sister and I are twins. (She's the skinnier twin of course, lol).

Okay, don't hate me, but DH and I tried the strawberry soup a couple of years ago, and we both hated it. I wanted to like it, really I did. I have an Olympus Stylus 1010. Something was definitely going on with it at Disney because one day the lens would not open for anything in the world. Then finally DH was able to fix it.

This is when travelling in a large group gets tricky. We all wanted to spend time together, but everyone also had their own idea of what they wanted to do. It also didn't help that DSis and her family had already been there for like 5 or 6 days and had done mostly everything we had yet to do.
I know we split up as soon as we got to MK. We needed to get a locker (to store our pictures and such) and DBil had plans for them to go straight for Fastpasses and I'm not sure what else.
Since it was our first day at the parks, we wanted to take our time and soak in the atmosphere. We also wanted to get some Photopass pictures.
Once we got our stuff in the locker, we headed down Main Street for our first set of many Photopass pictures.
Great update, I'm sure I'm in the middle of it so I'll check back for more soon. BTW we are going to 1900 Park Faire for late breakfast, fun, but I can't have Strawberry Soup, I'm allergic!
After our pictures, I knew I wanted to head over to Toontown for 2 reasons. #1- I wasn't sure how much longer it would be there. I was afraid it might even close during our visit. #2- We like to build up to the thrill rides and Barnstormer is a good one for the boys especially since it's one Aidan can ride.
Along the way to Toontown, we did make a pit stop at the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. It was really hot and there was no wait, a good combination for an indoor attraction.
While we waited in line, I texted a joke from Jared and Aidan.
The wait for the next show was a few minutes and then we headed straight in. I was hoping my kids or DH would get picked for the show, but they weren't. I always want DH to be "that guy", maybe next time. They did show me on the big screen for like a split second and then I guess they changed their mind and took me off. I was relieved to say the least.
We always love this attraction, but this show was the best one we've seen yet. It was extra funny. They also picked the boys' joke which made them very happy.
Oops, I had no idea you're not allowed to take pictures inside. Someone kindly put me in my place, lol.
Aidan, in particular, thought the show was hilarious.
