As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great character meet and greets! Josie looks like she was having so much fun in the playground photos! Sorry you didn't get to meet Remy! OH and when there is a problem with a meal grab ANY waiter and let them know!
Great pictures with all the characters and the special time with Merida! When my kids were little, they didn't like Soarin' either due to the fireworks at the end! Sorry about Remy not coming out at lunch, and getting a cold sandwich!
Great pictures! You ladies are looking ultra adorable on this trip. Sorry the weather was a little misty, but it's better than pouring. Those kids play area's look like a good time (although much like local parks). Are they only around for the F&GF? I think my son would have a blast there!
Good "save" on Soarin'... that is such an awesome ride and I'm glad Josie is willing to give it another try! Sorry you missed Remi and your meal wasn't as good as you had hoped. We have our first visit to CDF planned for November, and I'm hoping our experience is better. Gorgeous photos!
Sorry Epcot EMH were not quite what you hoped. But looks like a nice morning overall. The play grounds are great. They should keep them year round, makes WS a little more kid friendly. Nothing like that nice the Viking ship was removed.
Doing a little catching up! What a wonderful treat for Josie to be the special princess at Beauty and the Beast! What great character meet and greets at Epcot. I would have been really mad if I was promised Remy and then he never came out. Great photopass pictures!!!
Great pics, I also love the one of Josie with Goofy. What a look on her face!
I'm sorry that morning EMH wasn't working out for you, I would have been annoyed too if everything I had planned on doing wasn't open. Why on earth did I get up this early then??
Despite the slow start at Epcot, it sounds like you had a nice day so far. My DD HATES the planes and the fireworks in Soarin', but has been on it enough now that she knows when to clamp down on her ears . Great photo pass pics!
Yeah we are still talking about how we can get through it the next time, I just don't want her to start being scared on ALL rides now,

What's the deal with these new coffeemakers?? I wonder if they're all over the place now. So, you can't use your own coffee any more?
I don't know if all the coffee machines are like that in the resorts. Ot wasn't terrible, just not as strong as I would have liked, or needed

Yeah the Remy thing did blow, I made a later lunch ressie than I would have liked too just to make sure we would see him, but whatever right? Oh, and I know good and well how to get anyone's attention if I needed too, it just wasn't all that pressing at the time

Actually they were so much nicer than normal parks, they are Disney so of course they are super clean, brand new and so much fun!!!! I do believe they were only out for F&GF, which is stupid if you ask me.

Sorry the day was so misty out but it seems y'all made the best of it.
I also the pic of her after she received her rose at BatB. Her smile really says it all!
And count me in as one of the ones who blubber at kid things. I was tearing up just reading about Josie's Princess of the Day story.
Well welcome to the blubbering mommy's club!!!!!

They really should keep them, I can't even think of what is normally in those areas anyway, so would it hurt to have a sweet little playground???

Yeah, it was annoying at the time, I'm just glad I never told Josie that it would be happening

All in all, a good day. You made the best of it!
And ya know TT was down for the refurb too, so really there wasn't a whole lot of anything to be done between 8-9am

After our little R&R we headed back over to Epcot. I didn’t really make any plans for this trip, but I would have to have an “idea” about what we were going to do, so this night it would be to visit the Pixie Hollow area and then do some exploring in WS and getting that Passport stamped for Josie.
We headed right in to Epcot and over to Pixie Hollow. All I can say is WOW!!!!! We wandered our way through each topiary of all the fairies and even met the newest one, Periwinkle. Hate to say it, but she looked a hot mess.
I really stood there in disbelief on this one. Her hair…………..uggh, tough night of sprinkling pixie dust I guess.
Anywhoo, we then stumbled across yet another play area for the kids, it even had a “real” fairy house to go inside. Along the way they had little fairy houses and boats mixed in with the topiaries. I was having a great time watching Josie run around in here.
I did notice some kids were running around with crayons and this large piece of paper and couldn’t figure out what it was…………then it hit me, duh. I had seen and heard about this before we went but it was one of those things I completely forgot about. I finally found the CM who was giving them out, and I kindaa thought it was stupid that they were set up at the end of this attraction, because now we had to back track to get all of the scribbling done on each fairy. So we went back to each one and once we were finished the CM told us to come back and show her what we have done. She ooh and ahhed over it and then handed Josie and I some seed packets so we could go home and start our own fairy garden. Oh and also a crap load of fairy stickers too. I really can’t say enough about how cute this was. I wish Epcot would keep these play areas all the time, it was so nice to let them run and blow off steam too.
Josie had noticed the little face painting station and was begging to get this done. I said sure!! I thought maybe she would have gone some fairy route here, ya know, since we were in fairy heaven at this point………….but no. A lion!!! I just laughed at her and sat back and watched this take place. I did think of getting this done too, not because I really wanted to, but I thought she would have gotten a kick out of it. It was super windy though and I didn’t have anything to pull my hair back with. Dawn and Kelly have started some serious nagging with me as to why I didn’t get it done, so I assured those 2 twinkies that I will get this done in Sept.
Josie wanted to check out the butterfly house again so we went in there and the CM inside told us since it was cooling off a bit, the butterflies was sleeping. They were too and it was sooo cute.
We had skipped Figment this morning so we did try to head over there real quick, but it was closed at 7pm and also a CM was outside saying it had been shut down since around 2pm that day too.
We now decided to go tackle WS, but first I stopped to take a few more pics of FW and the flowers.
Our first stop was Mexico! Josie got her PP stamped and we went off to go for a ride with Donald too. We wandered around in here and even stopped to color a Duffy.
It was at this point we both started to get super hungry again. So we finally finished coloring (with sharpies…) and still were sticking of our choice of burgers for dinner from Liberty Inn in the America pavilion. On the way Josie wanted to play some drums and bang as hard as she could.
I was feeling super sad that we were missing all of these countries where we could have stopped for a stamp and some exploring, but I tell ya, when we get hungry, we need food ASAP!!!
Once at LI we placed our order and decided to sit outside. It was a great night, the sun was going down, there was a nice breeze, food was delish and we even had a chance to talk with daddy while eating!!!
I thought this topiary was really funny. The look on Lady's face had me cracking up!!
It was around 8:30pm at this point and I asked my friendly lion what she wanted to do next. She wanted to ride Nemo again. OK, well by the time we walked back there and back to WS I didn’t know if we could see Illuminations or not, so I asked her if she was OK with missing that OR we could just skip Nemo. Nemo wins so off I go walking like a mad lady because everyone was getting their spots together for the show. Now, let’s just remember that it was 8:30 when we decided to clean up our stuff at LI and walk to where???? Oh yeah………..Nemo, at the complete other end of the park.
As we are reaching The Seas, I start thinking, please don’t even tell me the ride is closed because it is like almost time for park closing. Whew, it’s not. I still have to go park the stroller, then back to the entrance. Thank god we made it!!!! However as we started walking in to the ride don’t ya know my little lion who just spent the last 20min resting while I was hauling butt, stopped and said………..” can we just go back to the hotel instead?” UUUGGHHHH……………..are you absolutely sure??? Yes! Well then OK, let’s bogie. I kinda felt like this would happen, but it’s all OK with me.
I could hear Illuminations starting as we were leaving and I know that in a few months we will be back and I even have an ADR for 7:45pm at R&C one night too, so I wasn’t upset at all. Same goes for her passport too. I had no idea we would have spent so much time in Pixie Hollow, but I’m glad we did because it was one of the best parts of this trip too. By now I was looking straight ahead to the empty bus stop and was actually getting quite excited!!!
Once back in the room and ready for bed, we decided to have our own fireworks!!! We had the best seat in the house too…………………
You have such a great touring attitude! Too often I see parents dragging crabby kids to attractions they don't want to see just becase it's "on the schedule." Josie seems to be having such a wonderful time. I'd say you are definitely in the running for Best Mom of the Year.
