Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Enjoy the movie!!!! We probably won't see it until it comes out on dvd. I really would like to watch TS1 & 2 again though,it's been years since I last watched them. Since my boys are older......most all of our Disney movies are on VHS!! The quality in no way compares to watching on blu-ray!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your trip is coming sooooo fast!!!

I just re-read Eclipse because it was the one book I remembered the least. And now I remember why I loved those books so much, but like you, I will not be battling teenagers to see it. Although one of the theaters by me is having and Eclipse blood drive. Great marketing! And the first 100 people get a free movie ticket. By the time I called, they were all booked up.

Wicked is on the top of my Broadway play list to see, was it amazing??

I think the Pixar universe is speaking to you and Andy seems to be the way they want you to go.

Oh, I can’t even start with Target. Since we’ve moved, it is even closer, much to Craig’s disappointment, and I also can’t go in there for just one thing. It’s impossible!!
They have another Twilight promotion through one brand of theaters - I think $30 got you to see Twilight, New Moon, and then Eclipse at midnight plus a lanyard (or some other gift) and $10 gift card to the theater.
Wicked is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! I cried the first time and teared up this last time too.
Target gets SO many people in trouble!

I totally understand on the time thing. Mike & I used to go to the movies like once a month before Dylan - now it's a little more difficult. I think we've only seen a handful in the theater since he's been born.

Kelly, I think I saw on IMDB that they say Andy's last name is the same as yours. How cute your dog's name is Buster. We still have yet to see New Moon before we see Eclipse, but I remember seeing Twilight with Erick & his sister on Thanksgiving Day when it came out in theaters. We had to watch the replay of the USA game from yesterday, but Landon Donovan's goal was beautiful! Erick was watching thr game on his phone as he found some tv app for his phone to watch it on. Dylan will love his Spud Lightyear. Skyler loves his, and his TS Mr. Potatohead too. Believe it or not there's a Woody Mr. Potato Head too. I saw it on Toys R Us' Website. I have a feeling we too will be filling up more than one box of Mr. Potatohead parts to bring home. Kelly how coincidental you're 22 months older than your brother, as that's the same age difference between my sister & I.
Thanks for the comments Becki!

GO USA!!

Yesterday, Steph and I were at the mall and in Hot Topic they had these Star Wars fuzzy stuffies. You pressed a button on them and they would speak or make sounds. I don't know why but they made me think of y'all !

All this birthday talk just made me realize that David's birthday is in two weeks!! I better get planning.
Aw! Thanks for thinking about us.
Get crackin' on the birthday already!! I'm sure you'll come up with something.

Yea! I'm glad you're seeing it. We won't be seeing it in 3D, but it will still be good.

43 days to go: Paramount Pictures' Barry Diller and Michael Eisner meet with Disney's Card Walker and Ron Miller. They agree to share costs of making two movies: Popeye and Dragonslayer. In return, Disney would handle international distribution.

This weekend should be fairly relaxing. No plans tonight - we'll have our dinner & a movie living room picnic. Maybe we'll watch TS1 or 2. (Dylan had to watch 'Lightning McQueen' last night again.) Saturday we hope to see TS3 at the 10:15am show then make it home to watch US vs Ghana. Sunday will be church. Sometime I have to clean the house (I've neglected it way too long now) and do some laundry. My Mom also said she wants to visit with us so she'll either come to our house or we'll go to hers. I would also assume the in-laws will be seen - we almost always see them. Ok, so maybe that doesn't sound so relaxing. Oh well!

I hope everyone else has a great weekend!!

Love your movie night in the LR idea!! David and I got together when Steph was 10 so our dates mostly consisted of the three of us. Now that Steph is 19 and doing ALOT of things on her own, David pulled her aside one day and "asked" if it would be okay if he could take me out on some dates without her now. It was sooooo cute and thoughtful!!

This weekend will be the first one we don't have anything planned but it is supposed to be 98/99 degrees here with heat indexes of 109. I think the pool might end up on the agenda and seeing Toy Story 3 since we didn't make it last weekend either. Tonight we are going to a "Mixers and Elixers" event at our Museum. There will be a band playing 80's cover tunes, cash bar and appetizers. They hold it in the area where the Dinosaurs are "housed." Almost feels like the Night at the Museum movie.

Hope y'all have a great weekend too!!

We do movie picnics too. we even do it with the laptop and a projector.

Do you have a regal cinema near you? if you do they have free family film fest over the summer on Tues. and Wed in the AM. they are last years movies but they are free and help teach little ones to be good movie watchers.
Here's the site for whats running when.

It is fun! I was inspired by another PP who did it to tell their kids about Disney. We've been doing it every Friday night for the last month or so. One minor problem is that sometimes Dylan wants to do it on other nights too.

I am thinking I might do themed disney fridays leading up to our trip since we are around 90 days to go! Such a great idea
The Disney Fridays are fun - you should definitely do it!

Again, we have to get caught up on the weekend's trivia:

Saturday, 42 days to go: Disney creates "Sport Goofy", a buffer and smarter version of Goofy.

Sunday, 41 days to go: Disney released the live-action film Call It Courage.

Today, 40 days to go: Disney bought the idea for the movie TRON from Steven Lisberger and Donald Kushner.

Friday night our movie for the night was TS1 & 2, so we could prepare ourselves for seeing TS3 on Saturday. We did see TS3 on Sat and it was excellent! Dylan did pretty well for his first movie in the theater - he started to get ancy and sleepy towards the end and cried a bit for one part, but overall it was a good first visit! After the movie we picked up Jack-in-the-Box and ate while we watched the US vs Ghana World Cup game (BOO HISS!). Dylan actually napped all that time. Once he was awake we got ready and headed over to friends' of my parents to go swimming. Dylan had fun playing in the water and then back in the house with all their old toys - remember all the Ghostbusters action figures, cars, and house? Sunday was church and cleaning.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
