As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Our bellies were full and we headed off to do another ride.
Claire had an itch to go on Barnstormer.
But I think first we walked past it and perhaps watched the train take off first?
We then got in line.
It was busy, but the line moved fairly fast and soon we were ready to ride.
I love the costumes here.
I took a few pictures while riding, but they were awful, so I will spare you those…. We had a good time and I just wish it was a little longer of a ride.
After we got off we headed down the dark path towards Tomorrowland.
We got in line for Buzz….which was the longest I have ever seen this line before, with it winding outside on the side of the building, but luckily this is one that usually moves fairly fast.
Claire looks like she will be upset if she doesn’t win. LOL!!!
After we conquered Zurg we headed back out.
I think we went on Carrousel of Progress then….I know we went on it a few times as this is a new favorite of Claire’s. And I think this is when we had a bit of a quirk and had to repeat a room or 2.
I must not have taken any pictures in it though, which is the norm for me most times. I just sit back and relax in there usually.
And then on to another of Claire’s favorite…..Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
They had switched the preshow area to the Monsters U stuff we noticed.
We found a seat and watched the screen as it displayed people and laughed. I always sit us in a spot that I know has potential to be on screen and what do you know….I was flashed up there…for about 2 seconds and then they took me off. Maybe I was too scary?
The show was funny, but we will never be able to top the one we went to in 2012 where we laughed so hard it hurt. But Claire still enjoys it each and every time.
I believe we needed to make a potty break and went in search of one.
I think we may have gotten a drink in Cosmic Rays as well and just sat and relaxed for a few minutes.
And back out we went.
Claire always has to try and get that sword pulled out, but we have never had success yet.
She always swears it’s just about to come out though.
And then I attempted some artsy shots I had seen someone else post. His were much better and taken in the daytime, but I was here now, so I tried it in the dark…and I need to go back and do them in the daytime someday too.
I made this next one into a canvas print.
After that we moved on and saw Rapunzel’s tower all lit up.

I love nighttime in the MK! Wouldn't it be nice if the Sword in the Stone would randomly come out? Like once in every 100 tries, or something like that? Then you would feel like you had a chance if you tried it. We know it can come out, because there used to be a ceremony (I don't think they do it anymore?).
sounds like you are having a wonderful night in the MK
it was a nice night, but I am finding I can't go go go like I used to be able to.

I think it still randomly comes out, but not as often and I don't think they do the ceremony any more. I have had 2 friends whose kids have pulled it out....but not us.

Now I really like Haunted Mansion, but Claire still is very leery of this ride. I usually have to beg and plead with her to ride it. Our last trip together we did not ride it at all and I told her she had to ride it this time and basically told her she couldn’t buy her Dumbo later if she didn’t. It’s not scary and I know she can handle it, but in her mind she thinks it is and is fine every single time afterwards…so she did finally agree to ride it with me.
And she was fine and even laughed in the new hitchhiking ghost area.
Next stop…..Pooh!
That was fun and one we always enjoy to ride.
We had a mission next….we needed popcorn and not just any old popcorn….one in a Dumbo bucket. I had first seen this last summer when my friend Janet had posted her daughter having one. I thought it was the cutest thing ever. I showed it to Claire and she said she needed one too. So at first we were going to buy 2 of them, but the more I thought about it, I knew it would just be a passing fancy for Claire and once we got home, she wouldn’t even do anything with it, so it would then become mine….and it was a good plan too. We headed off to buy our popcorn….but guess what…that stand closes early. UGH! I told Claire we would get one another day, but we were kind of bummed. We had purposely waited to buy it so we wouldn’t have to carry it around all day and evening. We even doubled checked in the Big Top Store just to be sure that they didn’t sell any either and they told us no and that the Dumbo stand was the only one that sold it in the park, so we purchased Claire’s stuffed Dumbo and moved on.
He was getting a lot of love from her.
And we then moved on again.
And we again went down the dark path to Tomorrowland…..and then Claire spotted it.
That lady had lied…..Tomorrowland was selling Dumbo popcorn. Woohooooo!!!!
We got in the line, which was pretty long and made our purchase. Claire is a popcorn hog and I only got a few bites, but that was OK, I knew in a few weeks’ time Mr. Dumbo would be ALL MINE!

Great find on the Dumbo popcorn. Could you give us the details on how you captured Madam Leota. I have tried several times and always seem to get a blur. I will be trying again in a little over a week.
