As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Awwww, I'm sad to report that my inner character was revealed today and I was tagged as Cinderella ugh!
I haven't seen Cindy once yet? But we're going to the Magic kingdom tomorrow so. . .
Lily is a huge pixie hollow fan, she plays all the time and they had a pixie hollow garden for flower and garden and she took extensive pics which I will of course post soon.
Early call at Chef Mickey's in the morning so I'm signing off I just had to check in!
Have fun at Chef Mickeys and the Magic Kingdom today. If you and Cindy's paths cross do give her my warmest regards and tell her I cant wait til August when we will be joyfully reunited again.

I have loved every second of your trip. What wonderful character interaction you had. I must admit, when we went I just was kind of star struck or something and just smiled for the pictures. You've given me some ideas I'm really glad it was such a wonderful trip for you two and I'm looking forward to hearing about your next one.
Great news! Last week, I wrote a letter to Disney Guest services communicating a couple of the wonderful experiences we had on our trip. I, of course, told them about our special Cinderella and our dinner on Valentine's day with the stepsisters.
I received a phone call today thanking me for my letter. They also told me my letter was going to go to Disney's Global guest relations center. Does anyone here know exactly what that means?
I do hope our Special Cinderella and the step sisters get a great deal of recognition and credit for the wonderful experiences they gave us.

I had really fallen behind....darn life it just gets in the way This was definitely a memorable trip. Thank you two for sharing with us. I am so happy that the characters really appreciate your enthusiasm. (I know I do!) Now just have to wait until Aug to enjoy your TR.
Sooooo, I have to tell you guys about the April Fool's day joke we pulled off on Liz. Myself and my daughter Victoria (Tori) are the culprits. Those of you who followed our previous trip reports from year past know what kind of neat relationship I have with her.
Well, Liz is away this weekend for a looong overdue visit with family. I have to work so I couldn't go, so Tori and me cook up this April Fool's day prank. I start by telling Liz Tori has been acting really wierd like she misses you really bad. She even wanted me to let her sleep in one of my Cinderella shirts for comfort. So I told Liz that I reluctantly let her sleep in the shirt with our Special Cinderella on it because it has Liz's picture too. I told Liz I was very reluctant because that shirt was very special, and I had plans for it on our next trip. After all it was signed and everything.
So I set Liz up with this background story, and I go to the gym this morning as Tori puts her part into action. She txts Liz all frantic saying she spilled cranberry juice on the shirt, and she was only drinking cranberry juice because Liz told her too because she needed it for health reasons and now she needs to know how to get the stain out. She tells Liz she's gonna try bleach (It's a blue shirt!) so before Liz can say No No No, Tori replies in a txt, 'The bleach turned it white! Aggh! Mom! Do you think he'll be mad????'
Then I send Liz a txt, saying I got the wierdest txt from Tori. Do you think she's ok?" Liz was about ready to hop in the car and drive 7 hours to prevent me from throttling poor Tori! She totally bought it! We even poured bleach on an old blue shirt of mine and sent Liz a picture of it to convince her. We let her go just a little while longer then told her April Fool. It was great.
It's nice to have PassPorter friends to share stuff like this with. Most of our friends here wouldn't understand why Cinderella shirts are so special to me anyway.
