Saving the Magic (with Cam and Luke plus Morgan) COMPLETED - Page 23 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh my the torture! Poor Morgan, first the long long bus wait and then you did not even get the girl off Main Street! LOL, it seem like she took it better than most though. Hope dinner was worth the wait and that she finally got on some rides. Keep it coming.
Waiting for the bus can be so frustrating! Especially when you're trying to get to MK and 3 AK busses, 2 Epcot busses, and 4 DHS busses have come and gone, but not ONE MK!!! AARRGGGG!!!
Just want to get to dinner and ride something and get a Family Castle picture, and everything else just keeps getting in the way!!! At least there was some fun interaction with the parade and you got some good pictures!
Sounds like you were waiting at that bus stop that very day with us! I couldn't believe how many buses arrived for everywhere that we weren't going. Two for DTD arrived one right behind the other. Ridiculous! The evening does get more fun!

I'm glad you got all of the "administrative" stuff out of the way, so now it's just time to eat and enjoy!
And now that you mentioned the Plaza, I want a tuna sandwich on a croissant with a rootbeer float. MMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Can't wait for you to read what I had and my opinion of it.

Love the pictures of the house, the floors and carpeting look great!
I was beginning to wonder if a bus to MK was ever going to arrive and I know Morgan was worried.

Once we got inside MK and then getting the high five from the stilts guy, she was feeling the magic.

Love the floors and your carpet! You house is beautifully decorated! I love the disney touches.
We tend to happen upon this parade as we're moving from one land to another, but Stefanie always loved it, especially shaking her tail feathers.

Morgan was definitely into the rides where we were used to Stefanie being into characters so a slow start was her style. Morgan began in high gear and so we adapted.

It felt like an ominous start and I was in a gloom mood, but in just a few minutes I began to turn around and so did the evening.
So thats why Morgan was so excited to ride BTMRR when we meet you. She was at Disney all this time and just wanted to be on the rides. It does feel like a lifetime for the kids when your sitting there waiting for the bus,the worst is when every bus comes first except the one you want
I felt bad that we didn't talk long, but we'd promised her as little waiting after dinner as possible. We had been up early and knew we'd probably not make all of EMH, but we wanted her to get in a few thrilling rides before ending our first day. By the time you met us, she was seeking thrills.

Thanks for sharing the pics of your home - it's right out of the pages of a beautiful magazine shoot.
I had not idea how mine were turning out because I was snapping shots and answering Morgan's questions at the same time. Luke was off getting SM FPs!
for the compliment on the house! I thought when I looked at the photos of the kitchen that in a magazine they'd have had the fridge cleared of all the kid art, but I prefer mine with all my Stefanie memories.

She was an angel the whole trip! We all three learned to adapt to a new way of doing Disney.
All caught up now - I love your craft room! Mine looks like a "before" pic, lol. Your home is lovely. It's somehow warm and cool at the same time, kind of like AKL...
It must have been tough for Morgan with all that waiting! I'm glad she enjoyed my all time favorite parade
I can feel Morgan's pain! I always want to run straight to the parks and hop on a ride, but since we come from so far away, it doesn't make sense to use whole days ticket on just two hours or so in the parks. You can just see in those pictures how impatient she is feeling. Kind of cute. Your house looks beautiful!

Sorry to hear Morgan had to wait out the bus situation, then the AP situation, then the Photopass situation... poor kid just wanted to be on the rides. Glad to hear you got to see the parade before heading to dinner.
Can you please explain what you mean by the ticket exchange with Stefanie's annual pass and Morgan?
We had renewed our annual passes in September with our DVC discount, so the ticket was already in Stefanie's name. we had to transfer it to Morgan.

It's a real compliment to us to have our house compared to our favorite resort AKLV.

She was getting impatient, but what 11 year old wouldn't be once they had arrived at WDW!

Your scrap room is fantastic. I'll pay your way to come to Delaware. My organizations are... Well lets just not say.
All your pictures are awesome.
Delaware is another state I've never been to visit. I might need to plan a sweep of the New England states.

I never thought all these things were going to take so long, but fortunately, the parade came our way and brightened our day!
Cam, your home looks amazing...great colors with the magic of Disney accents. Loved your pictures of BWVs (my "home" and favorite place to be). I also choose the boardwalk view, as a matter of fact.....on our last 2 trips, we got the room....right over the general store....the view is awesome, isn't it......and we never has a problem with noise either...once the patio door was closed it was quiet.....I'm missing it more now that I saw your recent pictures.....the pictures are wondereful. I'm so glad that you liked it at BWVs.......our only problem there was "always" long waits for the right bus to come....So sorry that was your experience, too.
