Just the two of us! (Need I say anything more?) Our Fantasy & Dream trip…Lots of photos completed 4/25/2014 - Page 23 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just found this TR and read it one go--so many great pictures, adventures excursions, surprises and wonderful FOOD! Thanks for letting me tag along even though I am inexcusably late to this party!
Oh my, what beautiful pictures you got around the empty ship!!
Thanks. I really do enjoy staying onbaord for some quality alone time from the crowds.

Figures that I would come down with something. Always seems to happen when I'm on an extended vacation. Hmmm...I wonder???

No Photoshop here. Though I suppose it could be done.

Everyone takes off for the day for excursions and such. Just a few remain like me.

Donald is my DD's favorite. If was different with her not being there. Yes I guess Palo dinner was not meant to be. Glad we got to go to Remy on the Fantasy though.

It was nice to just sit back and not have to think about anything but maybe dinner.

I though that too but it's the Dream that has outdoor seating.

Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
Beautiful pix of the ship and the Cay. Sorry you were too sick for diner.
Thanks...Just my luck.

Well it looks like this will be my final post for this TR. Sorry I've been away but family issues call upon me once again. Mom is doing really well but dad not so much. He's lost the desire to eat and has lost weight. Most people would have a feeding tube but he is too frail to withstand the surgery. I'm hoping a change of meds will improve things but I'm not so sure anymore. My drama continues....and so does this TR.
December 11th…continued
When I finished with my photo walk we headed back to our stateroom where I collected all of our FE goodies and laid them out on the bed for a nice group shot. After resting up for a bit we heard the engines and knew we were about to depart CC so we found a place by Currents, ordered a couple of drinks and watched as we pulled out of port. Amazing sunset as we leave CC behind Captains Mai Tai and Long Island Iced Tea The Last Sunset
We stayed until dark, me getting my night time shots while Dan just chilled. We were about to leave to get ready for dinner when it happened. A young couple came up to the bar, the woman with a screaming child in her arms. There was blood everywhere and the bar tender ran for some towels and ice and told them to take her to the medical office on deck two. They seemed to argue the point but agreed leaving with their daughter now calm but obviously injured. Dan and I headed down the stairs and there was blood spattered on the bottom. It would seem that the little girl might have tripped and hit her mouth/face on the stairs. I went up to inform the bartender who blocked off the area waiting for a cleanup. The family simply went about their business which was indeed their business. I reminded Dan, kids do fall and get hurt. How many times did Heather take a tumble and drive her teeth into her lip? Hopefully all was ok but what a horrible way to end your vacation. Night time shots of the Dream
I already had our backs packed and ready to go and as soon as we placed them outside our door they were gone. Since we weren’t dining at Palo, Dan’s suit was packed and it wasn’t until we were changing that I realized I packed his black pants leaving him with only his travel jeans. Oops! Thank god it was casual tonight but when we arrived there were many diners in jeans and even sweats. We made our orders and sat back realizing that our final night was here. Our vacation nearly over. Time to think about going home.
We learned a thing or two from Kris and Larry on our Fantasy cruise and ordered some of our favorites on this last night. Table setting Herb Foccacia and ciabatta bread with rosemary virgin olive oil Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes…pasta purse filled with truffle scented cheese and coated with a delicate champagne sauce Escargots Gratinés…Herb-marinated Snails with Finely Chopped Mushrooms, topped with Garlic Butter and Breadstick (Not on our menu…Dan’s request) Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup…with bacon bits and chives Curly Endive Arugula and Watercress Salad…sliced chorizo, dried figs, herbed croutons and a cider dressing Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes…for main entrée Herb Crusted Veal Chop…Roast Veal Chop brushed with Dijon Mustard and crusted with Herb breadcrumbs served with sundried-tomato risotto and Borolo wine sauce Grand Marnier Soufflé…Infused with fresh Orange Zest and served with Crčme Anglaise (Dan and I both requested this especially since I was missing out on my Palo Chocolate Soufflé)
When dinner was at an end Dan gave out the gratuity envelopes and we said our goodbyes. We wouldn’t see our servers in the morning because we wanted to disembark as soon as we could. One last picture request and we were on our way. Dan and I and our servers Arianta and Saladan
Dan and I walked around hand in hand just looking at the Dream for one last time. We found ourselves on deck 4 where I got a few interesting night shots. Since we were on the deck with all the lunges we decided to check out Pink and get a night cap before calling it a night. This lounge is quite pretty with all the pink, burgundy and gold tones and accents. We found a little table and checked out a menu. We each ordered a drink and were offered complimentary mini desserts but we declined being full from dinner. Like I said Pink is pretty but that was about it. The service was great but the drinks not that memorable. All I recall is mine was orange and Dan’s was blue and with tax and tip the two champagne cocktails racked up an amazing nearly $40 bill, the most expensive drinks on our vacation and that includes tastings. A Stroll Along Deck 4
When we returned to our cabin we were greeted by our last towel creation. This hissy little fellow.
I would have loved to have taken a shot of all of our towel animals together but our stateroom hostess kept cannibalizing the old ones to make new. Oh well.
So by missing Palo was I any better off? I did feel better but not my best. My cough was very aggravating. I got a good night’s sleep and we got off the ship early and in record time. The sign you don’t really want to be seeing.
We grabbed a snack at MCO and before you know it we were on our way home. I will tell you that this cold or whatever it was, was persistent. I was sick right through Christmas and New Years and my cough didn’t really fade away until sometime in mid-January. When I get sick, I get sick. Lol!
Well there you have it. Another TR finished and I believe in record time…for me at least. I found a couple of pictures that didn’t make it so I’ll post now. Again thanks for reading. Thanks for the pixie dust that got me through those rough times. I’ll be seeing you again in around 2 months and for now I think I’m going to try and check out your TR’s. Again thanks for reading and sharing our journey.
My shopping spree. Yes only these, a few t-shirts and Vinylmation’s. Our only two purchased photos on the Dream Group shot on the Fantasy... can you spot us???

From your photos you'd honestly think you two were the only two on the ship the whole time! I'm like you, my sickies last and last! Blech! Thank you so much for sharing the trip with us, I enjoyed reading along!
Thank you so much for sharing this trip report with us - I've really enjoyed reading it. What a beautiful sunset on your last night and sadly I wasn't surprised about the price of drinks in Pink. We looked at getting a drink in there and decided not to, when we saw the price!

Sorry to hear of your most recent troubles. Pixies winging their way to you for better days ahead. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation with us!
Great TR Linda, thank you for sharing your photos most awesome! I love the Fantasy and can't wait for our Sept. western cruise. Seeing the ship through your pictures just makes me want to go now.
What a great last evening! (Except for the poor little kid. But like you said these things happen anywhere.) Glad the trip home was uneventful. Looking forward to the next PTR/TR. Another cruise?
