As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I agree about Abu - kind of weird. Wonderful update as usual. Love all of the pictures and details. I hope you went around again in the evening for more pictures - I know, I know, I'm greedy.
In a way, it seems like this park is a combination of Epcot's World Showcase and the Magic Kingdom - is that a good way to describe this park?

Wow...strange to see Abu so "lifelike" and the same size as Aladin Love Arabian Minnie, the costume was so nice. Again the theming is just amazing here, each section so different and the detail...so on point.
At first I though "awww...I want to go there!!" then I saw Jafar and got scared...hahaha. Just kidding...the place is awesome! I definitely have to go there at least once!

It's definitely a combination of Epcot - I'd probably say it also combines elements from Islands of Adventure (Lost River Delta) and maybe the Magic Kingdom for American Waterfront, but mainly Epcot.
Just another absolutely gorgeous section of this park. Is it just me, or is this park enormous? Maybe it just feels that way?
I would say it is big. It felt a lot bigger than Tokyo Disneyland. Perhaps on a par with Epcot maybe? It could be that it felt big because a lot of it is water and is in the open, rather than in a lot of the parks, the size of them is kind of hidden away between each land and behind attractions. You don't get that here as well, with so much water around, if that makes any sense?
Thursday 9 April – part five: the best children’s area created by Disney...ever!
Next it was off to Mermaid Lagoon. This is an area especially for the younger members of the family and places like Toontown just can’t hold a torch to this, but I’m getting ahead of myself. First Frank, Donna, Luke and Liam all went on Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster and then they persuaded us to go on it. Boy, does that thing move! Why is it that the coasters aimed at kids often seem to be the fastest to me?!
From there, they all went on Scuttles Scooters. I didn’t see it go round, but Mark did and said that he was going to pass, as not only did it go round in a circle, but it also spinned as well. Donna didn’t realise that until she was almost there and her face was a picture. She just about made it through, but there was no way she was going back on it again!
We headed inside into Triton’s Kingdom and that’s a paradise for little people, as it’s all aimed at them and beautifully themed, all around the Little Mermaid. We couldn’t stop taking photos in there, while the others enjoyed themselves on some of the attractions in there.
They have Jumpin’ Jellyfish, based on the same ride they have in Disneyland.
Other attractions include the Whirlpool, basically vehicles that run on a track of eight, so they look like they’re in a whirlpool.
Then there’s the Balloon Blowfish Ride, another spinning ride and a couple of play areas, but in fairness, this is much better than it sounds.

By the time we got to the end, we were all getting hungry, so we visited Sebastian’s Calypso Kitchen, which had some great and more unusual offerings. I went for the scallops croquettes, while Mark had some fried scampi. Both were excellent. The range of counter service food here is quite something and it’s very pleasant not to see the same old, same old items all the time, which you do get at some of the other parks.
On the way out, we saw the cutest shop – watch the eye in the first two shots!

Wow, this park is just amazing. I love the Maya temple (a few updates back). Also, I thought it was pretty cool that they got "authentic looking" Indiana Jones and Aladdin! I kinda expected Asian dudes and then thought, wow, that would've looked weird wouldn't it
