Go your own way - Decade of Dreams - UPDATED 6/24 - COMPLETE!! - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great updates Cheryl and Wendy. Thanks for the pictures of Boardwalk. I am going by myself in October and staying there, and so am excited to see the rooms (although your pictures of the concierge will be as close as I get!)

Friday 1 May – part two: that’s not very Disney princess like!
Then it was into Fantasyland to ride Winnie the Pooh, which we walked on to. It was deserted there. We did look at Peter Pan’s Flight, but that already had a 10 minute wait and it looked longer, so we grabbed Fastpasses instead and went on Snow White’s Adventures, which was another walk on. By now, it was time to check in for Cinderella’s Royal Table.
We didn’t have long to wait before we were ushered in for our photo with Cinderella. They have got a pretty good system going here. They bring you in and then you get the photo done and then it’s straight upstairs and you are seated straight away. It works pretty well and much better than the last time I was here, which was a few years ago. Cinderella was very nice and the photo we got with her was pretty good. I really must find it and scan it in – I think it ended up in my scrapbook pile during our weekend clear up. Wendy – I will find it and post it and send you a copy... in due course!
Then it was upstairs….
…. and, within minutes of being seated, I think we had seen all the princesses. We had Aurora, Mulan, Snow White and Belle.
Oh my goodness, Wendy had fun with Snow White. I think she’s taking over from Mark’s role of being mean to the characters. Snow White asked if she wanted to get up for a photo, but she hadn’t so far for the other princesses who’d been round, so she said “why don’t you come over here?” For a second, Snow White lost her princess demeanour and just stared at Wendy, before coming to sit next to her.
Then, to add insult to injury, Wendy happily got up to pose with Belle a moment later. As she said, “well, she asked so nicely!” Too funny.
It was even better when Snow White passed by our table again. The look she gave Wendy was an absolute classic, it really had the potential to kill!
Our server left a bit to be desired, shall we say. He was a bit slow in coming to see us and didn’t really ask what we wanted. While we were waiting, we played with the wands we’d been given:
It probably took about three visits from him before I could finally tell him that I was a vegetarian. Sadly, the message didn’t get through and I did get the meat version first, which was a bit of a shock.
The quality of the food has improved an awful lot since I last ate here and Wendy said the same. They also gave us so much food. First we had a fruit salad to share, then pastries and then our hot meal. Mine came with potatoes, French toast, which was a nice surprise, and I demolished those. I was surprised not to see eggs on there and asked for those on the side. When I finally got them, at the second time of asking (I told you the service wasn’t that good), they were excellent and I really did pig out while there.

My veggie breakfast, which arrived eventually

I’m really glad that I got to try this again and it was certainly a lot better than last time, but it was still expensive and it’s not good value for money if you’re paying for it. I’m not sure that it’s great value on the Dining Plans either.
Cinderella’s Royal Table:
Food 8
Service 6
Atmosphere 9
Value for money 5
Average score: 7.00
When we came of there, our Fastpsses were ripe, so we headed for Peter Pan’s Flight. Let’s just say that there was a very boisterous group setting off on the ride, yelling “we do believe in fairies”. Oh boy. I was glad that we weren’t behind them and fortunately they shut up when the ride started.
When we came out, we found my friend Joy (Grumpygal, although she’s not on the boards much these days ) who I had been texting over the last hour or so. We did think about going on It’s A Small World, but it was showing a 10 minute wait and we decided that we only wanted to do this if it was a walk-up.
Instead, we headed into Liberty Square and went on the Haunted Mansion, which was showing a 10 minute wait, but were on in about five minutes. During this, the ride shut down for about five minutes in the Madame Leota scene, so I was about to get some neat photos of that. I still love the upgrades that they did to this. They really add to it.

Oh poor Snow White. She was so OVER THE TOP and I instantly didn't care for her! Oh but to have had a picture of her face when I asked her to sit with me! I did ask nicely. Why do they have to cram the tables so close together and really, that woman next to me looked like she would have clocked me if I'd dared to move!!
The service was so lacking though and we weren't off to the best start for meals were we? At least it was tasty, although really, that picture of my plate looks very obscene Chez.
Loved meeting Joy!! She's a sweetie and we were starting off so great with meeting fellow PassPorters---which was the reason for the trip!! So glad we didn't get stuck behind the cheerleaders. And I always love Peter Pan for some reason. Loved Haunted Mansion. That was my first time on it since it was refurbed.

Very fun morning so far. I agree with everyone too about Cindy's. It's way to much $$. We had a nice lunch there 2 years ago on the DDP but I don't think that it was worth 2 credits.

Great update, Chez (and Wendy!!). I have always wanted to try CRT, but just never wanted to subject Danny to all that girly-ness. Now that we're having a daughter, I have the perfect excuse!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!!

Great updates! When I went to Cindy's, I had a blast with the character's but I totally agree on the price for what you get. Glad you're having such a good time!
Wow! 2300 photos! What do you do with all of them when you get home? Do you print all those or just your favorites?
We're doing CRT for breakfast in June and I hope we get better service than you. Too funny about Snow White though.
Awesome update! I respect everyone on these boards who can write trip reports. I can write novels but the basics of a trip report escapes me lol :-) Can't wait for more!
