Take Me Out to the Mouse House **Updated 4/24** COMPLETE - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh, how I love pictures from the FGF. I NEED to get there during that time. My mom is leaving on the 26th and I keep telling her not to be surprised if she gets a surprise guest. Great update, P-Sha. Hope your blister subsides. . . . .
Godd to hear the rains cleared. Okay, your F&G pics are putting me to shame...so much so that if I ever get around to that part of my TR...I am posting a link to your pics!!!
Glad you enjoyed your meal alongside a little eye candy! Sorry to hear of the creepy kiddo ogling you a little too intently.
Sorry the blister cropped up...hope it doesn't slow you down too much!

Fabulous update! Love the video. Very cute future. I'd love to have the robot thing to take care of my dogs when we're away. Sorry the Storm Struck didn't float your boat. We really liked it which is amazing since tornados scare the you know what out of me and we usually have severe weather every week during the season which is now.
You surprised me with the Italian margarita. I thought for sure that you were going for a kaki gori but you redeemed yourself as the queen of shaved ice later on.
Too bad about the kid. That would've had me a little put out especially traveling alone. So sorry that your night ended early but that's what I love about solo touring. Just go with how you feel.

Fabulous update!! Loved the video from SSE - you're both so happy! I loved all your pics from the F&GF - especially the giraffe topiary (I giraffes too!) and the sand sculpture. How ! Sounds like it was a nice relaxing afternoon in the WS.
Sorry about your blister! Hope it healed quickly!
What great shots from Epcot - I love the one with the monorail, that just looks like one huge riot of colour! I can't wait to see this for myself in a couple of weeks time...
Sharon, wow your dinner and Italian Margarita look so good. I'm sorry to hear you had a little guy staring at you for a while. Those aren't fun. I'm sorry you had a not so friendly friend appear on your toe(your blister). Hope it didn't hinder the rest of your trip too much. Your photos of F&GF are amazing. Thanks for sharing more of your trip with us. More please
Come on Sharon, you must be used to guys staring at your beauty!
And I agree with Vfair, no more telling us about a hot waiter and not producing a picture. The spaghetti looked delish but Antonio would have been more interesting.....
Love the update!!! Your pics are amazing and make me want to sneak away to enjoy it on my own!!! (Pretty sure DH and DD would hunt me down though....)Antonio seemed "nice", guess that would have been kind of weird to say "Smile so I can show the PPers your hotness!!"
Awesome pictures and update!! I especially like the pics by the monorail...what absolutely gorgeous flowers!
Okay...you totally cracked me up with the serial killer comment. Could you discern an accent to determine exactly how far away that "basement crawlspace" might be from YOUR house??
Giraffes are my FAV!! DH and I are staying at AKL in Sept. for the EE5K and I'm so hoping to get some views of giraffes. UK is my FAV country and my boys loved the WS players last time we were there. I'm hoping to soak up as much streetmosphere as I can this next trip with them.
And yeah...I'm droolin' for some spaghetti and meatballs after looking at that pic. And Profiteroles always make me laugh...my DH and I went out to dinner once and he wanted to order them but he'd never heard of them before and ordered "profit-a-lor-ays"...well, it kind of loses something in print...guess you had to be there.
Fabulous update! Your photos from F&GF are incredible! Every year I see how beautiful it is and every year I say we need to do that next year! True gorgeousness! What's Your Problem is a new favorite of ours. Did they still have the fathers diapering the babies?? That was the most hysterical part! I still just thinking about it! Weird about the future serial killer! Can't wait to read more!!!

First, i will say i am still giggling about the serial killer kid comment. Eric for some reason gets kids from the ages of 5 and under staring at him. He always says to me "its looking at me...make it stop" *L* But, why i was laughing so hard was the serial killer reference. I am always saying to eric...i wouldnt be surprised if that weirdo turned out to be a serial killer This is why i look forward to your TR's its the commentary that gets me everytime!
I cannot believe I missed out on the F&GF this year your pics were amazing! I love the carriage with the pumpkins and the sand sculpture this year was amazing!
I will have to say that everytime i see Romeo and Edna I laugh until my stomach hurts...i love that show!
Too bad about the blister I had one of those pop up about 2years ago at disney and my friend had brought this moleskin stuff with her. I swear it was as if i never had a blister in the first place!! I always get those blisters that are tough and run too deep to pop.
And looks like tutto italia is something to put back on my list of resturants???!! i mean hot waiters and delish food
hmmmm can't wait to hear about AK...i think
Glad that you had as good as an experience at Tutto Italia as we did last summer! I think Thom had your same entree and I had your dessert! Yummy!!! I don't remember our waiter being such a hottie though so apparently we didn't have your same one! And kudos to you for buying your Italian margarita outside instead of paying the same amount for one half the size inside the restaurant!
And I think you may have hit upon something with that little boy. We keep a running list at work of co-workers who might turn at any minute.
Hope that blister doesn't bother you tomorrow! What a fantastic day at Epcot - - the pictures of F&GF are fantastic!
