Jared's Wish Upon A Star Pop Century Trip 8/14-8/24 - Updated 6/30 - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We were all hungry but could not find anything to eat at this time don’t ever go to DHS hungry in the evening. I asked if they wanted to leave and go get some food, but they didn’t want to.
Here are some pictures made me take along the way.
he's a ham, he loves the camera
We took a walk over to TSMM, but as I had already guessed all the Fastpasses were long gone. The wait was simply too long at 90 minutes 90 minutes with a 2 year old is like an eternity so we said we’d do this first thing in the morning the next time we were at DHS.
After Aidan’s meltdown earlier I decided that whatever we’d chose to do, it would have to be something we could all do together. When we saw the short line for The Great Movie Ride, we hopped on. Although the line was short we waited forever inside the building I’m not sure why.
We got the gangster version of the ride actually I think this is the only version we’ve ever gotten. We all really enjoyed the ride I know it’s a little corny, but it’s always been a favorite of mine. The boys were just a little scared of the Alien, but they handled it better than I thought.

Since we had an early breakfast ADR the next morning, we all decided that it would be best if we headed out of the park.
When we got back to Pop we headed straight to the room. I called the front desk to see if we could order a pizza with our dining plan, but the CM informed me that it would cost be a table service credit. I was not willing to give up my TS meals for a pizza, so Jared and I headed to the food court while Will and Aidan waited in the room.
We ordered a pizza at the counter there and waited for about 15 minutes. I decided to pay out of pocket.
We passed the time at the gift shop. This is when Jared’s obsession with buying a watch began. He saw a watch that he wanted for $60. He did have plenty of his own money, but since it was our first day there I suggested that he wait and think about it. He wasn’t too happy, but he didn’t buy it yet.
When our pager went off they had given us a pager to notify us when our pizza was ready we headed back to the room. We devoured the pizza which was pretty good and went straight to bed.

Great update! I'm sorry that Aidan was upset that he couldn't go on Star Tours. To add insult to injury, HISKMS was closed too . It sounds like you had a good day (and I'm glad you stepped up to the CM when it was your turn next!)

Thanks. I just finished your honeymoon TR (at least the land part). We did have a great day. I had to stand up for myself, that's actually something I'm actively working on because I always let people step all over me, lol.

Actually, it was a great day. The meltdown seemed like an eternity when we were in the middle of it, but it was just a small part of an otherwise great day.

I love that ride. I guess it just reminds me of when I was a kid and went to MGM. The pizza was good or we were just very very hungry.
How did you manage to get your son to wear the id tag around his neck? I got Andrew one and he wore it for about 5 minutes before he was taking it off complaining that it tickled.
We found the same problem at the Studios when we went in the evening. A lot of things Andrew was interested in were done for the day.

Great update. I agree, the Studios is not much of an evening park. I understand the shows not running all day, but all the shows seem to have the same schedule. Maybe one or two of the shows could start later and run later. This year they seemed to do better with having the characters stay out later in the day, than what we experienced on our previous trip. Anyway, looking forward to your next day's adventures!
Poor Aidan...that HISTK playset can really cause some major meltdowns. On our last trip my DD was waiting all day to play in the park, we ended up going to DHS late, on the way there my older one said "look mom, the backstage tour has no line" so off we went...
Can you guess what happened? I stopped in the gift shop to pay for something, told the older one to take her sister to the park and instead she comes back in tears that she missed the only thing she really wanted to do
Glad you were able to head back and enjoy some downtime and pizza...can't wait to hear more about your breakfast and the princesses.
Thanks for the updates to your TR....good for you for stepping up and getting your service. So many of us do not want to "rock the boat" but us parents need to do what is right for our families too! I knew the dinning plan took TS credits for the pizza but didn't realize you could get the same thing from going to the foodcourt yourself...I wonder if you could have called the foodcourt to have them start the pizza before you went down for it?
Wow!! Sometimes you just have to step up and make a stand. Hope the new day works out better. I have found that for the most part the only going in the evening for the younger set at DHS is Fantasmic. Your pics are great. MORE PLEASE.
