Double the Family, Double the Fun! - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Trying to catch up as I fell very behind bw church & preschool graduation obligations. That being said your day at MK looked like a great time. As for the clueless CM at WOD - I never understand why some people just don't get trying to save money by utilizing multiple transactions. Some CMs will actually suggest ways to save while others look at you like you are from outer space. Homecoming sounded quite good except for the inappropriate group at the bar. I felt so sorry for Lexi - being a migraine suffer since age 9, I hate to see little ones suffering from a headache. They can be so debilitating. Since you had meds for her - does she get headaches often? Was very happy to see her smiling again at EPCOT later in the evening. Kids are so resilient. I love the night photos of EPCOT and the earlier pumice of Goofy & Daisy were very entertaining. Lexi's Tsum Tsum shirt is very cute. Was that a Disney item or something you got at home. I need to find my toddler one - he is obsessed with the mini plush ones.

Welcome back! I know how it is when life gets crazy. Thank you for all your kind words. Lexi does get chronic headaches, they are seaonsal, so worse in the summer, but sometimes one will creep in during other seasons. Migraines run in my family and I am the only female that doesn't suffer from them (my mom, sister, aunts and niece all get them).
I found her tsum tsum shirt at Target. They always seem to have really cute Disney shirts there and also quite a few tsum tsum shirts as well.

So sorry to hear about the migraines! My daughter and I both get them. It can be tough watching your daughter go through that! I am glad she was able to fell well enough to get back out there for Epcot!!
Fun times in Epcot! The gingerbread monuments at American Adventure sound very cool! I love VoL! We always try to make time for at least one of their performances. As for the American Adventure show, I fall asleep in there too!
Your meal at Chef de France looked awesome! And how cool that Ashley got to use her French with the server!
I love the PhotoPass shots!
I will be sure to make time for VoL on future trips. I'm not sure what took me so long to see them in the first place!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to nap during that show.

We were there Nov 26 - Dec 3 (just after Thanksgiving). I am pretty sure you will be able to see some Christmas decorations as the MVMCP starts in early November.

It is so tough to see her in pain. Luckily we have learned what helps her cope best and if we act quickly enough they don't last long.
I have to back track a bit as I didn't have it in my notes, but I knew Lexi and I had made it back to the Japanese gift shop at some point and it was on this day. When Justin was purchasing his sushi Lexi and I snuck off to get some Japanese candy for his Christmas stocking. While we were there Lexi picked up a popular Japanese teddy bear and we used that as our cover for going back.
I took this picture of her bear after we got home. These are so cute and there are a ton of different bears all dressed up in cute outfits.
My niece that wasn't on this trip with us (my brother's daughter) is very into Japanese Anime, so my sister also went to the gift shop and picked up some Japanese goodies for her, too.
Okay with that forgotten errand over with, we are now caught back up and heading to use our Soarin' FP.
This was part of the Holiday's Around the World food booths at Epcot. I wanted to try the King's bread, but we were just too stuffed from our meal to try anything.
We beat my sister to Soarin, so we had a seat at Sunshine Seasons to wait for them. Pretty soon I heard "Hello, family" in the accent of the shop keeper of Oakens in Frozen and I knew it was my sister. At some point on the trip this is how we started to greet each other.
I know I mentioned this earlier in the TR, but I just love the new film for Soarin.
After hang gliding around the world we were all pretty tired. We didn't take a break today, so we decided to call it a night. There was EMH until 1:00am at MK and I knew my family wouldn't make it. My sister and her family decided they would take a break at the resort and see if they would head back out again. Spoiler alert: they won't.
There was a photopass photographer in front of the Nemo characters, so we made a slight detour for pictures before heading to the front of the park. The photographer had us all make "fishy" faces. Lol
I grabbed a picture of Lexi, too.
And now we could head to the front of the park.
Once we were back at CSR, we all got comfortable and just hung out watching TV. Dan offered to take Ashley and Nathan to MK for a bit, but they declined. You can tell it is nearing the back end of our vacation as we were all worn out.
After a bit we were hungry as we hadn't eaten since late afternoon, so we headed to the food court. Justin, Lexi and I got two meals to split and neither were that great. We got some sort of sandwich and fried chicken. The nachos a few nights back were much better. My sister's family got a couple of orders of nachos to share.
Ashley and I found a table while everyone else got the food.
We headed for the gift shop once our bellies were full. I wanted to get a CSR magnet I saw earlier in the trip and I also wanted to pick up something for Lexi.
Lexi with the donkey in the gift shop.
Justin was teasing me posing with the donkey, too and I was quick and snapped his picture.
Do any of you do Elf on the Shelf? Well this would be our third year with this darn elf and I was hoping Lexi wouldn't realize we would be on vacation when our elf usually shows up (December 1), but of course she remembered and asked if Eve would be able to find us at WDW.
Now, this is probably the last year she will really believe in this stuff as she is getting older so the elf made the trip to WDW. I picked up the Lilo and Stitch animator's collection doll set to leave with the elf in the morning.
Justin took Lexi back to the room so I could make my purchase without her seeing and I closed the gift shop down. They locked my in. I had to be let out the side door that leads outside as they put the gate down to the entrance of the lobby area. I had to walk around the side of the building and go back in the lobby doors.
When I got back to our room this is how I found Lexi and Nathan.
They were hanging out in the connecting door playing with the princess figurines Lexi got earlier in the day. Nathan is a big boy for his age and a lot of people mistake him for being much older, so it is always cute when I see him and Lexi just being kids together.
Ashley asked if she could sleep in our room tonight as Dan snores and none of us snore. Lexi was more than happy to share her bed with one of her favorite cousins, so Ashley grabbed a few things from their room and we all got settled in for bed.
Up Next: Silly Stitch!

What an awesome finish to your day!! That little bear is so stinky n adorable with the Night cap on! And of course your family is pretty cute too!! You really cracked me up with closing the gift shop down!. I did that once at Momento Mori's and it was really weird being locked in and let out a side door!!
Nice time at Epcot but such a long and tiring day!
