Come sail away, Come sail away, Come sail away with me TR Completed 2/8/2012 - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Looks like you had a perfect visit to CC. I love Josie's Minnie suit and cover-up. The photos of her with Tink are so sweet, and I love the one of Andre smiling in his sleep!

Ahhh, one of my favorite places in the world...Castaway Cay! Although I have yet to make it into that water. We always seem to go there in January, and the water is FREEZING! It looks like you all had a wonderful time, and BTW, I love your bathing suit! Very cute!!!
This has got to be the sweetest picture. He looks so content!
It looks like you had a fabulous day! I think it's great they come around and take your picture at the beach while you play. And that Tink looked like the perfect pixie!

What a fun time at CC! Looks like your little ones had a blast. Quite the character sightings as well. I really like the pictures with the characters in front of the ship.

You need to plan around that next time because the water was perfect!!! And girl..........that suit ain't all that cute. I thought a one piece would made me feel better about still having some baby belly on me, but it made me look pregnant anyway. I'm glad I got it though because it's always good to have one.

Cont’d
Back on the boat and Josie and I set off to pass out our FE gifts. Everyday coming back to the room she would always check to see if any gifts were left and it was really cute. I am happy we decided to be a part of this, but I really don’t think my kids would have missed out on this if we didn’t. I put together little pirate booty bags and they were adorable, I could kick myself now for not taking a picture of the finished product, and some people really went all out on the gifts…..really thoughtful. I still have some items not even opened yet, it was just so much.
So we went off and it was a maze of trying to find the rooms on our list, but we did it. I had decks 9-12 and boy were the rooms up on deck 12 fancy. I’m lucky I ran into a nice man going to his room though, because you needed a special key just to access the hallway…….I took some pics.
After that was all done it was time to get into our best pirate and gypsy pirate gear and head on down to dinner at Royal Palace. The plan for tonight was to all go to dinner, then drop Andre off in the nursery to go to the Pirate Party. After that we were going to drop Josie off too and have an hour or so to ourselves before we picked her back up for the Buccaneer Blast.
Heading down to dinner of course was one of those moments where people tell you to ALWAYS have the camera ready. We get into the elevator only to find Pirate Goofy!! Josie’s jaw hit the floor. We tried our best to get a pic with him but it was hard. After he got off Josie kept asking everyone on the elevator if they were coming to “her” party. I can’t really blame her though because we were having her 4th birthday party days after we got home……..a pirate party too.
Before dinner we stopped for some photos and then headed into eat. Dinner was great, again and Andre was a beast just grabbing at everything he could. Mean unhappy couple were right there next to us again and we just laughed and played with the kids. Everyone was super excited tonight.
We finished with dinner and took Andre up to the nursery. I gave them his jammies and a bottle and told them he could go to bed right after that. Again, it was hard to leave him, but I knew he would be going to sleep in about 20min so I didn’t feel so bad.
We went up to the upper deck and found a spot to watch the show and boy was this cute!!!!
After the show we went and changed Josie into some play clothes and took her to the kids club. Once she was settled in I knew EXACTLY where I wanted to go…………..PINK!! I wanted a big ol Dumbo glass of the pink champagne. This lounge is beautiful and I felt silly that we were in there dressed as pirates, but whatever. I’m pretty sure the 2 other people in there didn’t mind.
We sat at the bar and just without even looking at the menu, ordered 2 glass of their pink champagne. The bartender also gave us a little custard treat.
Can’t remember what exactly it was, but I had the chocolate and Arnaud had the passion fruit……both very good. The champagne was fine too, nothing to get all crazy about. It was pink, I was alone with my man and we were just enjoying our brief time together. We got the bill and I told Arnaud to sign for it and he goes…”no, you do it”. I was all…”OK, then”. I opened the bill and then just shut it and gasped. I looked up at him and he just started laughing at me. I was like…”OMG, I’m so sorry, this was stupid expensive”. He was all……” I know it is, that’s why I wanted you to sign for it”. I mean, really expensive. He just leaned in and said….”Did you enjoy the time with me and the drink?” ……..DUH, for that price I’ll enjoy anything. But really I did and it is a vacation after all. This is why we work so hard all year long, to pay for these little splurges…………right?? Yes? I’m trying to make it sound better. So with that, we strolled around a bit checking things out. I believe we went up to Palo’s and sat outside for another drink and then headed down to grab Josie for the fireworks!!!
