I Don’t Wanna Grow Up – 30th Birthday Trip x2, August 7-11, 2010 - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Dawn - you are SO right! I started a thread in sharing the fun (I think - can't remember right now) about things kids say and do and I've definitely learned that all little boys are obsessed with #2.

Have fun tonight out with the girls, and have fun at the Wedding. Happy Father's Day to Mike. You had me cracking up over Dylan's introduction to his baby brother. Toddlers, and toddler boys! Too cute and too funny.
I like Derek the best and I think two D names would be neat, I like Lukas second. Don't worry about the name thing. My DH and I were still trying to name our youngest the night before I was going in to be induced. We just had such a hard time. Since we weren't having a boy and couldn't name him after my DH, he was determined to find something that would involve some part of his name. His name it Trever Alyn and we finally found Madalyn and we could use Alyn in it, so then it was the middle name and having it flow. My middle name is Ann and about half of my female relatives too and his mom is Mary Ann, so we went with my mother's middle name Diane and incorporated the ann. So it is spelled Diann. Sometimes it just takes involving the whole family! LOL!
You'll get it, don't worry.

Thanks for the support! And my middle name is Diane!
Dylan is just shy of being 2 months older the Devyn 12/3. LOL. How close will the b-days be? I know you are doing C-section. Has that been scheduled yet? or is it still too early? AHH to know when they would come must be great (not the recovery tho)
Mine were all 2 weeks late all missed my b-day 11/23 by 1.5 weeks. and each others by mere days. 12/1 , 12/3 , 12/4.
Kelly!
Sorry that I am just joining in the fun!
I read all 21 pages of this pre trip report tonight and I am loving all of the great trivia!
Congratulations on baby boy #2! I have three sons (all grown up now!) and I have to tell you, I would give anything to go back in time and be a mom to three little boys again! It was the absolute best time of my life! Little boys love their mommy!! I had small bouquets of dandelions, I was given rocks and frogs as presents, sports were a way of life, and I was always doing laundry!
I wish the name Nathan was still in the running! That is my youngest sons name!
But I really do like Anderson. I think that Dylan has chosen a great name for his brother!
Congratulations on spending your 30th birthdays at WDW! Your trip sounds wonderful! I think it is great how much help you have received from the AKL IPO staff! How exciting that they are decorating the room for you!
I have really enjoyed reading all of your plans!
I look forward to keeping up with the rest!
Target has some really cute Maternity clothes which I've probably said this before LOL
I like Lukas....that is really cute But, I think I'd be hung up too on names. Its a really hard decision I think...especially for a second child since you used your always thought of fave name on the first LOL
Have fun this weekend and look forward to more updates!
I think it's great that you have names narrowed down to 3! I'm an OB nurse and you wouldn't believe how many patients ask if we have any baby name books they can borrow (which we do ) while they're IN labor!!
BTW, my oldest son was devastated when we didn't name his baby sister 'Kim Possible'--you may need to consider that 'Lightning McQueen' thing .

Hey Kelly - I'm just getting caught up here! Great trivia and I'm enjoying all your day-to-day events before this trip.
Quick question - does Dylan do well when he's away from you and your DH for long periods? You are sooo lucky to have grandparents who can keep (and spoil!) him for you while you two celebrate the big 3-0!

The baby bill be born 12 days before Dylan's 3rd birthday! My c-section is scheduled for September 23rd at 7:30am!

Welcome Ann! I'm glad you've joined us! It's great to hear how much everyone loves their boys. The AKL IPO has been INCREDIBLE! I really need to figure something out to do for them.

I do have a few maternity items from Target. I got a lot from Kohl's too.
Glad to see you around Crissy!

That's crazy, but so funny about searching for names while in labor. I'm pretty sure my brother didn't have a name for a few days, but that's because our parents couldn't decide which way to order his names.
Too cute about Kim Possible.

Dylan hasn't really been away for more than a night from us, but he's spent the night at each set of grandparents house and since they're dividing it between the, maybe the switch in the middle will help. (There's a story in my next update about what happened this weekend with him...)
So let's get caught up on the countdown trivia from the weekend and today:
Saturday, 49 days to go: The Pony Farm at Disneyland is renamed Circle D Corral.
Sunday, 48 days to go: Ron Miller, head of film production at Disney, bought the rights to turn the book Who Censored Roger Rabbit into a movie. (This is what 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' was made from. We'll have to watch this movie again soon too - I did get it on DVD for Christmas last year and it was apparently VERY hard to find.)
Today, 47 days to go: Disney released the 16-mm film A Symposium on Popular Songs.
This weekend was a busy one! I need a nap already! Friday night I met a couple girls (including Becki) that I used to work with for dinner. Becki lent me New Moon so after dropping her off I watched it when I should've gone to bed, but now I'm prepared to see Eclipse.
Saturday we had to drive to a family wedding that was about 1.5 hours from our house. We left early to take Dylan to Mike's parents (since my parents would be at the wedding) and therefore we were closer to the wedding too! We came back to their house after the wedding (which was beautiful - outdoors at a winery) and stayed there for the night. We didn't leave until almost 4pm yesterday and Dylan cried pretty hard when we left. I'm assuming he'll be ok away from us in August. He does ask "where's mommy/daddy?" when we're away from him though. I'm sure we'll call once (if not more) a day while we're on this trip.
Last night I went to Wicked with my Mom - excellent show!!! I wanted a t-shirt, but wasn't willing to pay $35 for it - I don't even spend that much on tees @ Disney!
It's been H-O-T, HOT here lately and supposed to be 100 again until Wednesday. I guess this is prepping me for Disney in August! I'm sure we'll be staying inside to keep cool this week!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I've been wanting to see Wicked, but missed it when it was touring in Baltimore. Glad you enjoyed it though! Not sure if I'm going to wait to see Eclipse on DVD or make the trek to the theater. As much as I enjoyed the books, I get kind of frustrated with Kristen Stewarts overacting...I mean you're a teenager act like one! Have some fun for goodness sake!
Anyway, try to ease into the week and keep cool at the same time.
