Eight Days a Week - The Bakelin Invasion **Updated 7/8 - COMPLETE** - Page 21 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad to hear its not the dairy issue! I too love cheese and milk products a lot myself and cannot imagine being allergic to it all That was just the first thing I thought of because I have a friend who is.....
Great updates though....I too want to see that cute jacket! Glad you found it...its always nice to find what you are looking for when you are on a mission.
I too find that the podcasts teach me things about disney that I wouldnve never thought of, like one time they did this top ten best treats in the world....that was a challenge for me when I went the next time to try everything out *L*
Cant wait for the next update!
It sure looks like you all had a blast together! I loved the pics of Andy and Brandi in the POTC room! Remy is just so adorable. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to see him in France! Can't wait for more.
We got up this morning and made it to the AK for opening. We decided to take our time and walk around the Oasis. There was lots of lovey dovey goodness going on in the Oasis this morning......
First, these sweethearts....
And then this sweet family of ducks and duck babies....
We caught the CMs bringing out the maccaws (that's a maccaw right?)... they fed them some treats and then got them settled for the day.
This guy was out, and while he's not with a lovey dovey buddy, he did totally remind us of Mittens....
We have many many many pictures of Mittens in this very seductive pose. I don't know what her deal is. She just likes sitting like a human apparently.
We made our way over to EE and grabbed a couple FPs. The line was nothing so we decided to ride it now, too.
See the cute jacket?
After EE we were both hungry for breakfast and had some snack credits to blow since our trip was getting close to ending. We went back to Pizzafari and grabbed some yummy goodness. Our little lovey dovey duck buddies were back, too!
For some reason, ducks also remind us of Mittens...... I don't know why.....I guess we just missed Mittens.
After breakfast we went back over towards Dinoland. We stopped along the way to see some pooh..... I mean Pooh and friends
We rode Dinosaur next, another fun adventure, and then hit up Primeval Whirl next. Then for some reason we thought Whack-a-Packy was hilarious to say so we decided to play And we got beat by a kid!
We went back to EE to use our FP and Brandi called while we were on the ride to let us know she was there We met her near Flame Tree and grabbed lunch b/c we were hungry! I some flame tree bbq!
After lunch we decided to ITTBAB which we haven't done in a while.
We made a biiiiig mistake at this point. We let ourselves sit on the front row b/c that place was packed. Front of ITTBAB = panic attack!!!! When that smoke came out.....I'm telling you.... Andy was in the middle of me and Brandi and I couldn't see him beside me. I couldn't see ANYTHING. And it was cooooold. Never again would I sit on the front row. Seriously!
We went back to EE after our freak out and waited in line which wasn't a terrible wait. We made Andy suck it up and ride by himself
I swear, there's something wrong with all of us...
By now it was getting to be early afternoon and we needed to head back. Brandi took us back to ASMo and Pom came and met us later that afternoon. We hung out and then headed out to Epcot that evening.
Our first stop in Epcot was of course Mexico for some nachos We do love to eat.....
We kept the Mexican theme going by heading into pavilion to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour. And I think it was here that we ran into the Blair Witch kid.....right Brandi? We had to go in a different way with Pom and when we got up there at the side of the pyramid, there was this kid, standing facing the wall, like right up against the wall, and to us, it looked like he was peeing So we stood there, stared, cause what else are you going to do? He finally turned around, and apparently he'd been texting.......texting something inappropriate apparently But still, he freaked us out. Very Blair Witch guy in the corner-esque. Freaky kid.
When we got inside I had to go to the bathroom so Brandi and I went to the one at San Angel. The men's was closed for refurb But the girl's was open...and this is what we found:
And Brandi HAD to check it out
Our next stop on our World Tour was Germany. I think we had bottomless pits as stomachs for this trip because Andy got himself pretzel number who knows what and a beer.
Brandi had a brat
And Pom had a stink look on his face...
We just relaxed in Germany, eating, people watching, good times Then we headed over to the UK for the 8pm BI show. After the show we finally made it over to Nemo We all rode together and then meandered around the Seas. We showed Brandi and Pom the newbie manatee.
After a while Brandi and Pom headed out. We made plans to talk tomorrow about what we'd do. Brandi had a field trip that day (oh by the way, the reason we were able to have an all day Brandifest is b/c she was uh....cough cough...sick that day )....... Anyway, we knew she'd be busy for most of the day tomorrow but there were plans of a Bakelin sleepover
After they left it was EMH so we stuck around in the Seas a bit longer, watching the dolphins and then thought about checking on Soarin'. The line was too long for us so we said screw it, let's eat some more So we walked back to France and had a glass of champagne and a crepe . We stopped in Japan and shopped some and then walked through Morrocco. Once we reached the point of dragging our feet behind us we knew it was time to head out.
Coming up: Andy learned and became the TSMM master!
I'm sorry...but are those birds, um, well, you know, YOU KNOW??? Are they? Cuz it sure looks like it and I know this is a family board and all, but I did a quadruple take at that pic.
FYI...your cat's pose is HIGH-sterical. Or, as Paris Hilton would say, and I can just imagine the cat thinking it, that's hot.
I did realize that it does look like they are....ummmm....yeah....
but actually the one at the back was helping build the nest...he was bringing sticks and stuff over and adding to the nest.....
I totally forgot about that Blair Witch kid!! I would have sworn on my life that that kid was peeing out there. But, he obviously was doing something he didn't want his mama to see. Wasn't it Pom that told him there was a bathroom inside?!?

What do you mean? I realized that I didn't take a lot of pictures at some points in the trip. The next update will be a prime example. We got wrapped up in what we were doing and I just didn't pick up the camera.
Yeah, so the reason Blair Witch kid turned around was because I screamed "HEY KID!" at him b/c I thought he was doing his business. He then turned around and held his phone out as to say "hey short fat balding guy...I'd texting!" As Melissa said, it must have been an interesting text
