As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

WOW 27 days. I can't wait for you to go, so I can hear about all the details when you get back. I love the strollers. Where did you get them? Your shirts are so cute. I might do that too, add rhinstones. I have grand plans to make shirts for everyone, maybe I will make just 1. I can't believe you are packing. I am so excited for you. My BFF and her family are going on the 10th of Feb (they could wait for when were are all supposed to go in 2010). Can't wait to hear more triva. Happy packing.

If you are using the DME, they schedule your pick-up for three hours before your flight. So if you have a 7 pm flight then you will need to be at POR and ready to get on the bus at 4 PM. This definitely leaves you time to play in the morning. We usually hit the parks for the morning and then come back to the resort, enjoy a lunch at the food court and after one last visit to the gift shop we are ready for the bus.
We just returned from WDW and used Garden Grocer for the first time. We were very pleased with their service!
I think 1900 Park Fare would probably hold the least scare factor for Anastasia. We had a blast eating dinner there (we had only done breakfast there until this trip)
I'd also go with 3 hours to allow for your return trip to MCO. It's about a 30 minute drive, as long as you don't run into some kind of traffic problem along the way, and you'll need time to get through security and such. DME's 3 hours sounds like a long time, but I don't like having that rushed feeling and that 3 hours is actually perfect IMHO.

The rhinestones add such a cute little something to the girls' shirts. They'll look so cute in the sunlight.

I was worried that we wouldn't have enough time to play that morning so I'm glad to hear we will! DH is looking forward to delaying the inevitable as long as possible!

Ah, I'm glad you think 1900 will work too! She's pretty skiddish but I think she'll handle the face characters just fine, in a group setting like that.
And I'm glad Garden Grocer got the thumbs up! DH loves the idea of having milk and water and such ready and waiting at the hotel. Me too!
The All Star Movies resort is home to a 25 foot tall Woody with Green Army Men on top of the Toy Story building.
Holy 25 days, Batman! I don't have much to update because I've been obsessively reading the Twilight series for the last two days :rolleyes1 but I wanted to check in, update the countdown and such.
One thing I did get out of the way this weekend was to put together Kyle and Tatiana's homeschool workbooks for the week we're in Florida- topic of study? World Showcase of course! It'll be fun for them to do some hands on learning for a few days, and better than taking a whole 6 days off of school altogether. I'll try to remember to take pics of their books today!

Yesterday was the last official day of our holiday season, Three Kings Day. DH took the day off of work and we spent the day at home watching movies after letting the kids open their gifts.
I am SO glad the holidays are now over! I felt like I couldn't really make room in my head for our vacation while it was still full of seasonal activities. And now that that's through, I'm free to plan away! And on that note...
My travel agent emailed yesterday- our documents are on their way! Can you BELIEVE IT? How is it possible that the trip is nearly here?!
I think we're all really looking forward to some time away from the norm; 10 days of well planned Disney in only...

Okay, first let me apologize for slacking- the majority of us are battling a bit of a cold, and when the littlest ones are sick my free time is non existent. Nobody's feeling any worse (nor any better) but they've leveled out some so I can finally jump on here to say
17 DAYS TILL DISNEY!
We're in the teens already! How quickly this passed by...
I fully expect everyone to be healthy in 17 days. Or at least suck it up and put on a happy face.
So I mentioned homeschool books last time I was here- I finally took a pic of the Epcot books which are really focused on world studies based around World Showcase. Here's what they look like:
There are study pages and work sheets, and we'll do something more comprehensive when we get home- I know they'll love their hands on learning experience though.
And, guess what finally arrived!
DOCUMENTS! It was kind of overwhelming to try to read through all the vouchers and Magical Express stuff for a first timer- not that it's difficult to grasp, but I think I'm trying too hard to read between the lines and make things more difficult than they actually ARE! (Shocker.)
I've really got to buckle down now- the next two-plus weeks are going to just FLY by!

Sorry for the delay, folks! I have been ridiculously sick, as have the rest of the family. And when four kids get sick, it doesn't matter if Mom's sick or not, you know what I'm sayin'?
Everyone is getting better- I'm the last one to catch the bug, naturally, so I'm taking care of myself and the few lingering sickies here.
Suitcases are out and slowly being filled! I'm putting away the kids' items that are Disney specific and because I'm very much a type B personality I'm not stressing on when the actual snapping shut of the cases is done.
I checked out Garden Grocer and figured out what we'd need as far as milk, breakfast goodies and diapers- what a joy it will be to just take what we need for the flight and have big boxes of diapers there waiting for us. Yeah! No lugging that around makes me happy.
We figured out that one of our hard sided suitcases fits inside one of our soft sided ones... so we're packing a suitcase inside a suitcase IF, after packing clothes and such it looks like we might need the space for bringing home souvenirs.
I'm debating on buying a new camera for the trip- I really want to get the Canon Rebel XS and hand my point and shoot down to one of the older kids. I need to let the angel and the devil on my shoulders debate over whether or not I can justify a nearly $600 expense right before we go on vacation, even though the pictures would SO be worth it...
I got an email from Disney reminding me about Photopass! I still need to preorder that, but from what I remember I really shouldn't do it till just before we leave, is that right? And someone out there might be able to clarify something for me; I thought that when you handed the photographers your photopass card that the pics would be online and waiting for you when you got home, but I could have sworn I've read a couple of TR's in the past where people said they lost pics because they didn't view them that day at a kiosk or something? Am I confusing things? (Please say I'm confusing things. Lie to me.)

My Kyle and Tatiana are trying to pack- Tanya's thrown everything into her suitcase- and I mean EVERYTHING. Non-working cell phone? Check. Stuffed animal she never really cared about? Check. Pants that don't fit? Check.
Guess what I'll be doing Thursday before we leave...
