As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your dinner at Coral Reef reminds me that Luke and I need to try this one again. We did it once with Stefanie, and she and Luke both loved it, but I was disappointed with my meal. I just never put it back on our list. I can do a couple of hours at DQ, but then I'm on sensory overload and want out.
Dinner at Coral Reef looked yummy! How nice to sit right up there next to the tank!
I feel the same way about Disney Quest. We went there once when we had a pass that included it, just to see what it was all about. We ended up doing a couple of the 3D virtual games which made me a little queasy. And then we ate at the Cheesecake Factory, which sadly is not there any longer. I have no desire to go back!
I have never been to DQ, but have a feeling I wouldn't enjoy it! I'm curious, though, and should have gone while I had the special AP deal. I like the meal-sharing that you've been doing. Much less waste-- of money as well as food!
Sounds like another great day! So great that you helped that little boy be safely reunited with his family. I love how much y'all get done, and also how much pool time you have too! I've been to DQ once and honestly, that was enough. I had fun, but I don't feel a need to return.

Dinner at Coral Reef looked delicious! Made me consider it for June. I'll go and look at the menu to see if it could work.
I agree with you on the Nemo queue. I really hate that it's so long and twisty and dark. I feel that I get dizzy just going through it.
We will be trying DQ for the first time in June. I not that excited, cause' I'm not fond of videos, but my boys are dying to go there. I'll probably play a couple of games and then leave them with Arben as I explore DTD. Now that sounds like a great plan!

This is one that I can take or leave. Living in New England we can get pretty good seafood around here - so this is all about the experience for us.

I would say - give it a try while you have the PAP - otherwise, in my opinion, don't spend the $$ for it.

Today we had breakfast on our beautiful balcony again! Mini Pancakes for all! You just can’t beat the view while enjoying your morning diet coke (okay, maybe coffee for some of you! ) and breakfast!
Then Bree was knocking on our door again! We were all going to Typhoon Lagoon for the morning! Another Premium Annual Pass Perk!! And we knew we would have even more fun bringing Bree along with us!!! So once she dropped her dry stuff in our room, we had all gotten our bathing suits and sunscreen on – and set out! We did take the bus so that we wouldn’t have a wet car coming back!
We arrived at Typhoon Lagoon right at opening – grabbed a couple pics of the girls, then headed straight for Crush ‘N Gusher! This is not your ordinary water slide ~ if you have not been before, this is a water roller coaster!!! And it is CRAZY !!! You get either a double or triple tube, carry it all the way up those stairs, and then they put you and your tube on this conveyor type belt and AWAY you go!!! It is crazy and fun!!!
And of course, they have photopass photographers at the bottom to catch your crazy faces when being ejected from this thing!!!
and the girls flipped over!!!
We did ride a couple times, then the line started getting long – so we headed over to Castaway Creek……….aka the lazy river! Now, seriously, I could lay in a tube on this river all day long!!! That is my idea of relaxing………….although too bad they couldn’t have a little adult beverage station along the route somewhere ~ that would make this GOLDEN!!!
Anyway, after our laziness on the river, (well, honestly, Scott and I were the lazy ones – the girls pretty much swam the whole thing I believe – they were way ahead of us most of the time) it was time for some slides!
We managed the Mayday Falls (which I attempted taking photos while I was going down!) – again, you have to climb all those stairs, in the heat, blazing sun, all while carrying your tube !
Then we made it over to Gangplank Falls – the big raft slide! Talk about a fun time!!! The girls were all giggles the entire way down! It didn’t help that they managed to get the really wet side of the raft!
Then we climbed up and did Keelhaul Falls – my battery power was getting low on my camera, so I didn’t take any photos of this one.
I wanted to check out the Pearl place – I was looking for a cage for some loose pearls – and had heard there was a Disney themed one – but unfortunately they were out. But the girls found some fun while I was browsing!
Could you imagine seeing this thing in the ocean ???
We started to get a bit hungry and wanted to beat the lunch crowd, so we headed over to Leaning Palms – Scott and Emily shared a Barbecued Pork Sandwich and Bree & I shared a Pesto Turkey Sandwich – with the fries it was plenty for each of us!
After lunch we went to the surf pool for a bit – of course Emily (who I think believes she is a mermaid) loves to go way out in the pool to catch the waves – I stay a bit closer to the edge – those waves can really beat you up! And of course, by this point my camera battery had died so we found a photopass photographer to get a few photos for us! He was a lot of fun – trying to get the waves coming at us in the background!
He even got Scott photobombing the girls!
By now (it was noonish) – the park was getting busy – with the slides having lines at least 45 minutes long – so we headed back to the resort – we had a mission for the evening as well as a dinner ADR.
Up Next: Holy Characters!!!

Glad you got a chance to really take advantage of the PAP on this trip! I love the lazy river at TL, but always wish they had smaller tubes for short people! You must have this issue as well? If I lie on the tube I'm completely out of the water-- not even my feet get wet. That's no fun!

what are you saying??? You think I am short??? just kidding - actually yes - I do have the same problem! Unless I scoot myself down in there, dipping my hinny but usually I just put myself through the tube so that I am laying on top belly down, with feet in the water.
And yes - we took FULL advantage of the PAP's this trip!!! And we are excited that we will be able to get them again - although not as good of a deal as last year - it 's still less than the regular AP, so might as well - just a bummer that we probably won't get multiple trips on it - but next trip is looking like 13 days so still less than regular hoppers.

Sorry, Lisa! The same thing happened to me. I tried to scooch down to get wet and went right through the tube, then I couldn't climb back on! I was thinking I'd sometime bring my own flotation, but I don't think they allow them. My PAP has already expired.
