A DREAM is a wish your heart makes – a First-time Cruise pre-trip report complete On the cruise ! - Page 20 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Another great dinner!! Can't believe you are 6 weeks away from your trip. With seeing how busy you are going to be, the time will fly by!! Love the pillow you made for Dylan and the shirts for boarding are cute too!
6 weeks - that will fly by!
And if you think your schedule is busy now, just wait a few years! I am so grateful that my son is finally able to drive himself to soccer practice - since it's three nights a week, plus the 2 games on weekends! Glad my daughter doesn't do soccer! (although she has PLENTY of other activities that keep me hopping!)
Love the seatbelt pillow - great idea!! And your embarkation picture is going to be adorable! Great job!
Before you laugh (okay, go ahead and laugh), I tried to make the seatbelt pillow for Cullen, but quickly gave up because it's way too much to hand stitch. Yep - I tried to do it by hand because I don't have a sewing machine. I'm going to make a 2nd go of it this weekend at my mom's - hope her sewing machine works For now, we cut a small piece off a pool noodle and my husband made a slit so we can insert it on the seatbelt. It works relatively well, but doesn't have the cool factor your Superman project has
As for turning off wi-fi so the boys don't purchase a car, I totally get that. I mentioned in Cam's TR that Patrick managed to download a Lady Gaga song, install it and set it as my ringtone. I didn't know it until the phone rang...during church. Now everything wi-fi is really, really password protected in this house
I also feel for you on the busy, busy schedule I'm still trying to focus on just the day at hand...so much so that I completely forgot to remind Coach he had a dentist appointment last night until the office called wondering where he was.
Yeah for 6 weeks!

Yay or 6 weeks!!!!! I guess this means I'll have to be starting my TR soon? Time seems to really be flying now.
I your seat belt pillow!!! Great idea. I've been thinking of whether or not I'm going to have to buy Hope a little travel pillow for around her neck. She'll be in her booster seat by the time we go, and I definitely want to make sure she has enough head and neck support when she's sleeping...which I'm praying will be most of the trip.
another great theme dinner. Love the seat belt pillow!! Cute idea! Love the tshirts. You guys are going to have great boarding pictures taken! 6 weeks will be here befor you know it!
I love the "zebra domes" hee hee What a busy start to the fall! You'll be so ready for a vacation by the time your trip comes. Great job on the pillow!
I just Evan's soccer schedule and he has practice one night a week but it keeps changing - what a pain, just pick a night and stick to it.
I got Evan a seat pet when he had his summer drive to Florida - he loves it. We brought it into the house for a bit and he keeps the TV remote in the pockets.
Those shirts you made are so cute!! Can't believe you leave in 6 weeks. Where has the summer gone.
Thank you! It's finally feeling like summer - temperature wise at least.

Yeah for 6 weeks!
I did actually hand stitch Dylan's pillow as we didn't have a sewing machine.
That's funny about the Lady Gaga song, although I'm sure it wasn't at the time.

Get on it girl!
They both have a pillow but it doesn't seem to work well, at least for Dylan.

I looked into making real Zebra Domes, whoa, that's a lot of work. And I wanted the Zebra Cakes by Little Debbie but the store didn't have any.

Yours is super cute!
I think it may change, but so far mainly Friday nights is practice. Although they cancelled it tonight because of the heat.
Another busy weekend for us! I took Friday off as Dylan didn’t have school. I got A LOT done. We went to CVS, Sam’s & Aldi and then I came home and cooked for the next 4 hours making meals to put in the freezer to have later as life has become so busy. Originally Dylan had soccer practice Friday night, but it was cancelled due to the heat (was over 100 for the past few days, but only a high of mid 80s today thankfully!) so we had movie night instead.
Breakfast sandwiches (egg, cheese & bacon)
L: mini meatloaves R: sloppy joe cups
chicken taco filling
The theme was Beauty and the Beast since we’re eating at BoG. The menu consisted of: cheese soufflé, baguettes, zucchini gratin, and the grey stuff (it’s delicious you know). The boys even enjoyed the Princess movie more than I thought they would – we even danced at the end.
wine for the adults!
grey stuff aka oreo mousse, which tasted WAY better than it looks
Saturday we went to the new outlet mall (yes again) to return the shoes I bought Dylan as they bothered his toe. We didn’t stay long as it was very crowded & HOT! (All the stores open to the outside.) I did some laundry and yes I pulled out the suitcases and commenced packing. Yes I know I’m crazy but with the schedule between now & then I need to start now. I’ve packed all the swim stuff, out shirts for boarding, the Nightmare before Christmas shirts, and all the costumes are out and put together and I started a list of things I need to remember to pack.
Sunday we finally made it to church. Then we had a 4 hour standoff with Lukas about going to the bathroom. TMI, but he refuses to go #2. I made breakfast cookies while Mike was on his watch. We eventually gave up and headed to the Botanical Garden for the annual Japanese Festival.
chocolate & white chocolate chip with pecans; white chocolate chip with craisans & almonds
pulling candy blindfolded!
chicken Tokyo tacos - yum!
pork shish kabob - also very good!
cooling off
A little girl gave the boys her octopus balloon
dancing to the music
source of said music
feeding the koi fish
watching the drum show
lanterns at night - garden was open for night walks, but in all honesty it was too dark to see anything
Today not much has been going on. Dylan has soccer practice tonight and that’s the only planned thing right now.
We did receive both Mike & Lukas’ passports so we’re all ready to leave the country now! J
You've been busy! I make-ahead and freeze individual meals, too. Much cheaper that way when cooking for one! It's a nice feeling when the freezer is stocked. The Beauty and the Beast meal looks great and I'm glad the boys enjoyed the movie. It's such a good one. The Botanical Gardens looks so beautiful! What a great outing. (Hope you had success with Lukas later on!
