2010 TR 1/29-2/05~~Mom's Dream Came True!! - Page 20 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well, I was way behind on this, but still made some comments along the way:
We had a similar experience at Coral Reef when we were there in June. We had a dinner ADR and the food was very good, but service was lacking. I’d say we had an opposite experience in the rush – our waiter seemed to take forever to refill drinks and bring us the bill. I think next time I want to eat there I’ll try lunch as it was easily one of my favorite meals because of the food.
Old Port Royale pictures brought back some good memories! It is a good food court and I love the gift shop there too. I always wanted to send one of those coconuts to someone.
Kona looked good for dinner. We’re trying it for breakfast on our next rip. Was that cotton candy around the base of Nathan’s cone?
Sorry you missed the opening of MK, but I’m glad you didn’t let it ruin your morning. That breakfast looked yummy! It looked like you had a great time in the MK so far!
Thanks for following along! We will probably go back to CR someday, but like you, maybe just for lunch. Kona' on the other hand, was a wonderful experience, with yummy food & a great waitress! The Kona' cone was huge....and it was cotton candy & M&Ms that surrounded it!
I've just spent the a.m. reading this start to finish (sick kid @ home) and what a great trip! I've really enjoyed all of your pictures...and I loved it when you said you had the whole family together to watch Wishes, what else could a Mom ask for...I kind of teared up even because that was almost my exact thought on our last trip. Thanks for sharing!
for reading! This trip really meant alot to me! We shared so many special moments together & there were several times during the trip that I couldn't help but get teary eyed! Hope you'll keep reading......(although the trip is quickly coming to an end).
After the parade, we met the boys at SM to use our FPs. I suggested leaving after our ride to head over to BC. It was only 4:00, but I wanted to get there a little early to look around the resort a little.
It was beautiful!!!!! Dream trip is now to stay at BC!!!
We walked down to the beach & sat (or in Peter's case stretched out) for a rest! Logan & Nathan walked off to look around. After awhile, I went to look around too. We came across the ping-pong tables & of course, Nathan wanted to play. When Peter joined us, his face lit up, Ping Pong! Peter played against Nathan & it was so funny, because the boys had no idea that Peter was a pro at ping pong!!!! They were so impressed. They had never seen him play & couldn't believe he was so good at it!! The boys always beat us at video games & I think they just asumed that Peter wouldn't be good at ping pong. We had a great time playing & I think they would have been satisfied with just staying there, in this beautiful place, playing ping pong with their Dad!
It was time for dinner, so I tore them away from their game, to head to CMC. On our way there, we ran into a PP photographer who took our picture. The boys had gone ahead, so it was just Peter & I, but we got a great picture of the two of us on the beach!
The buffet at Cape May was awesome!!! The choices were great!! I especially loved the crab legs, & Peter the steamed clams & mussels. The boys filled up too, they really loved the clam chowder. Peter skipped dessert, the boys pigged out on Oreo Bon-Bons! I had the key lime tart, oreo bon-bon, & a couple other things. Everything was delicious!!! We will def go back next trip. Waiter was great-atmoshere great-food great!!!
Logan humored me by getting 2 pictures(and that was it!!!)
Have you ever done the Magic of our steam trains tour?
We have taken this tour back in 2007 and we all loved it. Lots of history and some backstage visits. You get to ride a train as they get it ready for park opening.
Great pictures of the parade! And CMC looks so delicious! We will eat here in June, but we're doing the character breakfast. I figured since we were staying there it would be easier to make an early ADR. But dinner sure looks good, too.

I always love your TRs Cam, but I can hardly wait for your upcoming stay at BC!!!!!

It was probably our best dining experience all around! CBR is a wonderful resort, but after looking around BC, I soon found out why it's a deluxe!!!! Beautiful!
After dinner, we headed back to the bus stop to catch the bus back to MK. On our way out, Nathan saw another CM and went over to look at his pins. He came back so excited as he had gotten a pin that he thought was so cool. It is an animal w/horns (a ram maybe?)but it had 5 legs instead of 4. Anyhow, he loved it!
On the way back to MK, Peter & Logan decided they were going to call it a day & head back to CBR. Nathan & I weren't quite ready to end this most wonderful day so, a little more pin trading & catch Wishes (just one more time!!) We went through all the shops on MS, checking out the CMs lanyards & purchasing a few things along the way. Nathan bought a Donald Duck bobblehead & I finally picked up a HM book! He traded a few more pins, then we decided to watch Wishes from the front of the park this time, so we could avoid the mob afterwards & make a quick dash for the bus.
Wishes, of course, was awesome!!! It is my favorite!!! We got back to the room and decided to go the pool/hot tub. Logan pointed out that mousekeeping had left us something
She knew we needed a toothbrush holder!
I forgot to mention that I had left mousekeeping a tip envelope every morning on the sink mirror. A few days ago, they had left us a CBR postcard & a thank you note! I thought that was sweet! We only got 2 towel creations this week, but our room was very clean & well stocked with towels when I left a note for extras.
Peter & I got in the hot tub for a bit, the boys were coming later (but thinking back I don't think they ever made it). They were visiting their fav gameroom!!
The boys got back to the room, got showers, & watched tv.
I was super tired tonight....remember I started today early at MK!! I journaled & soon called it a night.
What a wonderful day!!
Memories from Day 6-
Weather-gorgeous 70's (chilly early morning)
Best thing-Dinner at CMC, playing ping-pong w/the boys
Worst thing- the camera incident
Most magical-Peter playing ping-pong with the boys at BC
1st time-
Visiting BC, CMC, trying to open park then going solo, breakfast at MSB, Mickey & Minnies house, TTA, Train ride......so much more!

Today will be our last day!!!!!!!!!! I am so sad that it has to come to an end!
We had decided after our first day at DHS on Monday, to rearrange our schedule. It had become the boys favorite park, so I thought we should end our trip there!
I had enjoyed my solo trip at MK so much, that I decided to repeat and do the same today. My camera still wasn't fully charged, so I left it behind, along with 3 sleepy heads!
I headed for the bus stop around 9:15, but it was a repeat of yesterday. A bus for DHS finally pulled up after several minutes. We again stopped at every stop & by the time we were underway our bus was way too full (in my opinion). We finally got to DHS by 10:00.
I headed straight to TSMM & got me a FP! Return time was 2:35. Then, I stopped on a bench near the hat , called Mom & checked out the schedule for the day. I watched HSM3 before heading over for the first AIE show for the day (all the while I am looking for HM which BTW, AIE only has one). I called Peter after the show, and he said they were on their way to the park.
I waited for them in front of the hat, and when they got there Peter & I decided we wanted lunch. The boys went off alone.
We went to Backlot Express for lunch. We don't have any ADRs for today & have 8 CS left, so we aren't sure what we will end up eating today.
You know the one big thing I do not like about DHS??? The CS choices. Backlot Express was a big disappointment.
Peter got the burger/fries/Sprite/ marble cheesecake.
I got the chicken strips/fries/diet Coke/marble cheesecake.
Peter could not eat his burger. It was yucky!
Total: $32.84 (2 CS)
We found a few HMs at BE, and along the way. This is so much fun!!
We got to AIE just in time for the 1:00 show. We hoped to follow most of the shows today-we it!!!
In the meantime, the boys are wandering around (I know they did Indiana Jones, Lights, Motor, Action, ToT & RnR (not Nathan), and lunch.
Logan got pizza at Pizza Planet & Nathan got popcorn/soda. I estimated as no receipts: $20.00 =(1 CS & 2 SC).
