As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great day! So cool you got to ride Soarin' so many times. And how great that you got to meet more Passporters! Those FABs snuck up on you, huh? That's why I try to avoid the non-frozen ones, since they're so much easier to suck down. I have to drink slowly or risk brain freeze! Looks like a really fun day (and your boys are too cute!). More, please!

I would definitely hit the parks again in Sept. as I was amazed about the lines being what they were...

I really liked that ride, especially the smell of the orange groves....
Ok, I got up at 5am got showered and dressed while my guys were still asleep. I headed out to catch a bus to DTD, but had to wait about an hour as DTD didn't start until about 7:15 or so... so I just chatted with the CM there. One finally came around 7:20 and I was on my way..... Once there, I walked over to the Hilton and picked up the Hummer that my hubby had wanted ( I had told them that they were being phased out and no longer available to rent in the US, ) After picking up the vehicle - I drove over to Celebration to pay a "Surprise" visit to "J". I found the DCL office building and the receptionist buzzed me in and had me sit on the sofa while she called to have "J" come down to meet me.... After about what seemed to be an eternity- (actually - it was only about 5 minutes) she came down and we FINALLY got to meet. It was like seeing a loved relative that hadn't seen each other in years... We hugged and kissed and chatted and laughed.... Then I gave her my gift bag that I had for her... (Her gift was MUCH better that the airline's staff - her's had wine and much cooler engraved gifts!!!!) I didn't want to keep her much longer - can't get her fired for talking and hanging out for TOOO long.... so we reluctantly said our good byes - for now - as we had already promised to meet up next Saturday for her son’s b-day!!! So after even more hugs and kisses - I left and headed back to pick up my guys.... DH had called my cell to see where I was and I told him that I just picked up our rental "car" and would be at the lodge shortly.... The boys were ready for their day at Aquatica!!! So I make it back and they are still getting ready. By this time we realized that DH's parents should be arriving at any time, and we decided to wait for them to show up and be their official welcoming party..... BUT….. it took FOREVA!!! They were to arrive by 10…. Well, they arrived at 12!!!! So much for hitting Aquatica today!!! So we (I) decided just to get the party started by going out for a nice lunch. This is when DH saw that I had rented him the Hummer… He was so happy… he couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel….So since I was the only who knew how to get around in Orlando I had to give him play by play directions on getting to our destination… –We went to Celebration and had lunch at Columbia…. Sorry, no pics as the camera was left in the vehicle….. But TRUST me…. The food was AMAZING!!!! So was the Sangria!!! I had initially ordered just the glass, but it was soooo good….and refreshing – full of fresh and sweet fruit!!! I asked my waiter if he could credit me the glass if I ordered the pitcher…. He did…. So while we were eating – the GM of the restaurant was walking around looking very MEAN!!! He was PISSED off for some reason, and he had found his target… He took the young hostess to a corner and whatever he said to her – made her cry!!!! So after we saw him still walking around – I spoke to him and since he didn’t really understand me – he came all the way over to our table. I told him to smile that he was going to chase the patrons away looking so mean… I said to him – you are much too handsome to look SO grumpy!!! Then he turned on the charm and was beaming ear to ear!!!! Our waiter later came over and asked what we said to him as he was now smiling so much…. We said we just told him to smile and to stop looking as mean as he was way too handsome for that look……. That had him laughing!!!!... So dessert time came and he brought us all some really great desserts – on the house from you guessed it…. The GM…. So, I paid the bill and got a hug from the waiter (I guess he liked his tip) and the GM!!!.... I told him I’d be back and would be on the lookout for him….. So we then went back to AKL and freshened up for our La Nouba show and for our dinner afterwards… We met at 5 and took some pics in the lobby and headed on out…. Found a really great parking spot in DTD after letting everyone out… Met my gang at the entrance of La Nouba…. Got comfortable. Sorry again…. No pics are allowed inside….Enjoyed a really amazing show…. After the show, we were hungry again… so we headed to our reservations at Morton’s …. I do have pics – somewhere -from here….. I’ll have to check my DH’s card…. Then the staff did a HUGE birthday celebration for all 4 of my birthday crew,….. It was really nice!!! DS5 fell asleep before the meal was over and had to be carried out to the car…..We then head back to the lodge and called it a night as we had an ADR for Boma’s in the morning……
Another great day even if the plans had to change! Sounds like two terrific meals! And what a great thing to do -- change the GMs poor attitude for a much better one!
