Jared's Wish Upon A Star Pop Century Trip 8/14-8/24 - Updated 6/30 - Page 20 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thanks for reading my TR. Wish I would've gotten the CM's name so you could look at for her, but hopefully she was just having a bad day. I think you will love Pop. It's really fun and our room lookd fairly new and very clean. Have a great trip.
As you can see, I changed my signature picture. It is one of my favorites from our whole trip. However, DH hates it so I promised I’d only leave it for a week. He thinks he looks like a dork, but I told him we are all supposed to look like dorks well some of us more than others we are in Disney.
Okay, now back to the regularly scheduled TR:
8/15 I know it’s like the longest day
It was around 1pm where I left off the last time. I had originally planned to be back at our resort napping by this time yeah right like Jared would ever nap however, the DVC rep had a different plan. Anyway, I figured it would be a nice break since we would be out of the heat and away from the crowds.
When we got to Town Hall is that what it’s called? we were led all the way to the back behind the double doors. Jared was quickly escorted off to play Playstation or some other game console and Will and I and Aidan asleep in his stroller were led to the presentation which had started a few minutes earlier.
I won’t bore you with all the details but we learned a little about DVC. It was okay but we wanted to see one of the Villas. I didn’t feel it was a waste of time since it gave DH an overview, but he wasn't convinced yet.
We did get bottled water and scored some Fastpasses for sitting through the presentation. We decided we’d just have to take an actual tour later on in our trip
Afterwards I intended to leave the park to go back to Pop, but I noticed that the parade was about to start. Since we’d never been able to see it up close before, I decided this would be the perfect time to grab some front row seats and check it out.
We got great seats in front of Main Street Bakery except for the fact that we sat right next to a trash can and everyone’s trash kept landing on me but I can't have it all.
Will headed over to Casey’s for a hot dog and some fries for himself since Jared and I said we were not hungry and Aidan was still asleep.
When Will returned I headed over to Main Street Bakery for one of those giant cinnamon rolls that I had read about on these boards. I also grabbed some chocolate chip cookies for Jared as he requested.
When I returned I noticed that Jared had changed his mind and was eating Will’s hot dog, lol. I knew Will was starving the things we do for our kids and I felt really bad. So I told them I’d be right back and I ran over to Casey’s and ordered another meal for my hungry DH.
Well, I don’t know where Jared’s appetite came from that day because he ended up eating half of that one as well. Poor Will.
of course he's happy, he's full
We sat and waited for about 30 minutes. Aidan was still asleep and I was starting to get worried because he never naps for that long. I figured either we’d really worn him out or he was dehydrated. So we woke him up and gave him a drink. Plus I knew he’d really enjoy the parade.
We watched the entire parade without anyone complaining about the heat or about being bored a first for us.
In our room we watched some television and had a few snacks
Then the boys and Will went swimming while I went to the gift shop to buy some postcards for my Fairy Godmailer duties. Once I got those sent out, I went by the pool to see what everyone was up to. They were having a blast.
Jared- I love that face, I think he's cold
Jared underwater
Will
Aidan
Aidan wanted to go over to the kiddie pool. I took him over there for a while so Will and Jared could get some alone time.
When they were finally tired of the pool okay who am I kidding, we had to practically drag them out we headed back to the room to freshen up. I asked everyone what they wanted to do and DHS was the unanimous decision.
Up Next: Don’t Go To DHS Hungry and Is Anything Still Open….
Glad you got a great spot for the parade!! Great pictures!! Too funny Jared was eating everyone's food More please
Thanks. I know, I wish Jared would eat like that at home.

Yes, the cinnamon roll was yummy, but the french toast loaf that I had later on in the trip (at Main St. Bakery) was even better. Thanks. Glad you like the pic. Now if I could only convince DH. I want that to be our Christmas card.

What a great day....glad you had such a great breakfast except for poor Aiden being trampled by Pooh, but I am glad all is well between them and that it did not tramatize him too much.
You got so much done in MK so far....glad you were able to enjoy the presentation (knowing you bought in already I can guess that seeing the Villa was the final push Will needed )
