Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Those hills around the Swan/Dolphin are quite step as I know from my many walks back their from Epcot and the Boardwalk each day I was there back in October.
It was such a fun night!! Even fighting was fun!!

Well, they gave it to me on a coaster and didn't say it was secret! I will PM you (and anyone else who wants it) with it just to be safe!!

Hollywood Studios!!

Day 12. November 14th. Part 1.

This morning Adrienne sent me this gif to wake me up:

We took our morning walk and went to the Boardwalk Bakery for our coffee:

Then we went over to the Yacht and a beach Club side of Crescent Lake and I gave Adrienne a tour of these beautiful resorts. As a side note, I must add here that we saw only one dog. Anyway! Adrienne thought the resorts were beautiful and loved the lobbies of both. We continued on:

It was starting to get warm already, so Adrienne wanted to change her shirt. We went up to get the boys and everyone met on the Boardwalk as we were taking the Friendship boat to DHS.

Doesn’t Muffin look like he’s dodging the paparazzi?

We arrived at the Studios in no time flat and we all enjoyed the boat ride!!

We stopped at Starbucks for some yummy drinks and treats and then we got some PP pictures taken:

Then Muffin, Dave and I rode ToT for our first FP+ today:

Then we made our way to Star Tours for our next FP+ but not before stopping again along the way!!

Sadly, we did not get here this trip

We had a fun journey and then walked some more:

We next went to Muppet Vision 3D:

After the show, we continued on:

We walked through here:

The models for Toy Story Land and Star Wars:Galaxy’s Edge look really cool!! Next it was time for our final FP+ for TSMM:

We stopped for some fun pictures:

Then made our way towards the exit:

We stopped outside for one more photo shoot before catching the boat launch back to the Boardwalk:

We had an excellent morning at DHS and got so much done in such a short mount of time, but now it was time to go back and relax a little before MVMCP tonight!!!

Coming up: The rest of our last full day at WDW and our evening at MVMCP!!

Just got all caught up with your last few posts. Sorry the hostess at your character breakfast was less than magical but it sounds like the experience and food besides that was awesome. I've always worried about those safes not opening but it sure sounds like Disney went up above and beyond to make it up to you. So sweet of them to send the chocolates to Adrienne's room because of the pool incident also. We haven't eaten at The Flying Fish in years but your meal did look great. Glad it turned out to be such a wonderful day even with the rough start.

What a great morning at Studios with so much packed in with some of my favorite attractions including TOT and TSMM! You all looked like you were having such a great time! I can't believe this is your last full day already! Unfortunately, I can't put out the updates daily like you and Cheryl do so well!

The rest of our last full day at WDW and MVMCP!!

Day 12. November 14th. Part 2.

We arrived back at the Boardwalk around 1:30 PM. We actually got off the boat launch at the Swan and Dolphin and enjoyed the pleasant walk back.

We went to the pool and sat at the bar for a drink and some grub:

These hot dogs were HUGE so we split them!!

We went for a swim and got some sun and then we all got refreshed and took a Lyft to the MK...........

WELL, AT LEAST THAT’S WHERE WE THOUGHT WE WERE GOING!! We had the goofiest Lyft driver who had no idea how to get inside the MK, so we asked him to please just drop us off at the Grand Floridian. We wanted to show Dave and Adrienne the Gingerbread House anyway and sure enough, it was now completed:

Then we took the monorail over to MK and arrived around 4:30 PM. We were given our MVMCP bracelets and directed to a PP photographer for pictures. This was a new system and we really liked it!

Then we were given a little map of the festivities and some cookies, but we didn’t eat them because we were pushing it for our 5:05 ADR at Be Our Guest. We inquired about sitting in the West Wing but there was an hour wait for that so we settled for the Ballroom and were seated right away!!

I love this window!!

I immediately began looking for Cam and Luke who shouldn’t be far behind us but did not see them yet. We got our menus and I even love them here:

We ordered our dinner and then our waiter encouraged us to walk around and check out the different rooms. Adrienne and I did just that and, again, the whole time, I was also scouting for Cam and Luke!!

When we got back to our table, our food was just coming out!! Adrienne loved this castle so much and everything was really delicious!!

Adrienne ordered the Garden Salad with Roasted Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese, Dried Cranberries, and Pumpkin Seeds with Lemon Vinaigrette:

And Grilled Strip Steak with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites:

Muffin and I both ordered Salmon with Seasonal Vegetables:

Dave ordered Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops with Lobster, Mushrooms, and Seasonal Vegetables in a creamy Lobster Sauce:

We also got a bottle of Conundrum to share! Adrienne’s steak was a little undercooked for her, so she sent it back. I thought it looked delicious but both Muffin and Adrienne like their cow dead and leathery! she told the rest of us to eat in the mean time.

Some time during our meal, I finally spotted Cam and Luke coming into the restaurant, so when I was finished my meal, I looked around for them. I checked our room and then the Music Box room and finally found them in the West Wing, those lucky ducks!! I only meant to say hello and that we would meet up with them after dinner but I wound up talking to them for about 20 minutes and Muffin had to come looking for me!

Those guys had already eaten dessert without me but ordered me this:

We got on line for pictures with the Master and Cam texted me to let me know that they were just a few people behind us.

We saw them on line while we were getting our pictures taken and then we all went to use the restrooms and when we got out, they were gone! Disappeared into thin air. On top of that, my phone died and that was the only place I had Cam’s number!! We looked for them all night but we just couldn’t find them! . I was so grateful that I had at least spent some time with them at dinner and we really would have loved to enjoy MVMCP with them!! I hope you guys had a great time!!

We had a great time at last years party, but this one was even better!! Last year, I feel like it was much more crowded because we didn’t ride much at all during the event. This year, we got to ride tons of stuff and still enjoyed the Castle shows, the Christmas parade and were able to get some cool PP photos as well!! I had to use Muffin’s camera so these are hit or miss!!

First we rode Dumbo, since we were right there. I let Adrienne control the up and down part and she was crazy! It actually got pretty chilly tonight so Adrienne me bought Dave a cute Stitch sweatshirt.

Then we rode Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid. Next was The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh:

And then Peter Pan’s Flight:

We continued on to the Haunted Mansion:

We then went to see Elsa turn the Castle to ice and it was beautiful!!

Then we went to Tomorrowland and rode the Peoplemover and Buzz:

Me checking out Muffin’s score

Then it was time for the beautiful Holiday Wishes:

After the fireworks we went ride BTMRR and then found spots for the Christmas Parade in Frontierland. I was brimming with excitement as this is my favorite parade and I couldn’t wait to share it with the Adlers!! By this time, Muffin's phone was running low too so I couldn't get any pictures of the parade.

The Parade was wonderful as always and by the time it was done, it was after 11:00 PM. We headed to Main Street to purchase a few things and then got to see the parade a second time as it was finishing!

We took the bus back to the Boardwalk and settled in for the night.
