As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: The Awwww Man Trip Day 1
Day One (con.)
We parked the car and headed in. Ahh, home again! There was a very small line to check in, and in about 5 minutes we were at the desk. We had requested the 50s, near the pool, first floor. Did we get that? Nope! But that's okay. We were in the 70s building on the fourth floor. I ended up loving this area, it was so cool.
After checking in, we decided to go and grab some lunch. DH got a cheesesteak wrap, Megan got a hot dog basket, and I got a kids chicken nuggets. I admit, we cheated, and brought our mugs from last trip. But I didn't feel too guilty, as I saw many other mugs being filled that weren't even Pop Century!
We finished eating, and headed back to the room to change into our bathing suits. First up was Goofy's Jet Pool for Megan. She absoutely loved it! It was hard getting her to go to the 60s pool, but once she saw it, she was off like a shot! She would've just jumped right in if I hadn't been there to stop her.
After swimming, DH and Megan went to get some groceries from Publix, while I took a nap with Natalie. He was supposed to pick up dinner, but he didn't find anything. So that meant another trip out for all of us. We ended up at Chick Fil A. Wow, this place was good! And they serve waffle fries! Bonus!
Back to the resort, and we chilled out for awile. The girls were in bed by eight, and DH ran to the food court for dessert (chocolate cake and lunar cheese cake) and refills before bed.
Coming up...Epcot!

Re: The Awwww Man Trip Day 1 Done 5-13
Thursday, April 14th -- Epcot
Today started off bright and early with Megan waking up around 5:30. Fortunately, she was appeased by Pooh on tv, allowing us to doze off for about 1/2 an hour more. We were all up and ready to go by 7:00am.
Off to the food court for breakfast! DH got a kids breakfast platter, Megan got Froot Loops, and I got chocolate chip pancakes. Natalie had rice cereal and fruit. After eating we headed out to our car, and we were off to Epcot!
We were one of the first people in line that day. It was torture staring up at Spaceship Earth, and not being able to ride it! Natalie was able to nap though, so that was a good thing.
About 8:45, we were let into the park. We were held up at the rope, where we waited for the character bus to appear. Once Megan saw it, she was a happy girl! She was waving as hard as she could. The rope dropped and we followed the bus to the fountain. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep up with it, and Megan was very upset, thinking she wouldn't get to hug the characters. No worries though, as we got lots of pics (and hugs!).
Shawn and I decided to forgo Mission:Space and Test Track until my family got there later in the week. Unfortunately, we never did get back to them. After greeting the characters, we headed over to Guest Relations to get a birthday pin for Megan. They were out, but we were offered a Congrats pin which we took.
We took in Innoventions, where Megan enjoyed the ant farm, and the kids computers. Natalie enjoyed a bottle.
After that, we headed over to the Living Seas. Megan was totally enthralled by the “fisies”, and could've spent all day watching them. Natalie fell asleep again, and I stayed with her while DH took Megan to see Crush. They were out before long though, as Megan was being fussy and DH didn't want to disturb anyone.
Next up was Imagination. I still miss the original ride. After this, Megan was getting cranky, so we decided to head back to the resort. The girls napped (I think I slept too!), and DH went to get lunch.
He came back with balloons and a card for Megan! We had mentioned that we were celebrating her 2nd birthday (really on May 1st) and they gave us a Pooh card. Unfortunately, it says “Happy 2nd Birthday Natalie”, but it's the thought that counts! For lunch, we shared a Mediterranean Flatwich and a Ham & Cheese Flatwich. Megan had grapes once she woke up.
Sorry they're so blurry... I couldn't get her to stay still long enough!
Around four, we decided to head back to Epcot to visit World Showcase and see Illuminations. I stopped by the other Guest Relations and got Megan a real birthday button. Megan saw a really pretty chenille Minnie keychain that she had to have. It was only five dollars (and pretty good sized too), so we said okay. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the trip, but more on that later.
Coming up... an evening in the World Showcase

Re: The Awwww Man Trip Day 1 Done 5-13
Day 2 Part 2
Okay, so we get into Epcot, and head right for Spaceship Earth. My all time favorite ride! I do think the vehicles need updating however, as they seemed quite noisy. After riding, we went over to World Showcase.
We skip Canada for the moment and head to England. Alice in Wonderland was there, but her line had just closed. Oh well. Instead, we caught the end of the British Invasion. As they were walking backstage, they noticed Megan's pin. They sang Happy Birthday to her! How cool is that? I had a quick smoke, while DH and Megan went through the hedge maze. This was a HUGE hit!
Next up was France. We caught some of the chair guys act, and headed on. It seems we were right on time with entertainment schedule, as MoRockin was just coming out. It was a little loud though, so we moved on.
In Japan we watched the candy lady for awhile and browsed through the shop. Found lots of things I would love to buy if I had the money! At USA, we caught the Fife & Drum Corp. They were amazing! I had great fun singing along, though I think DH rolling his eyes behind me. Tough cookies!!
We stopped for a soda and some popcorn. Just what we all needed! Skipping Italy, we went over to watch the trains. This was the other big hit of the day! Megan loves ALL things choo choo, so we were happy to oblige. It was tricky getting her away from there, but in the end she was okay.
I'm not sure why, but we skipped everything else. It was Natalie's dinner time, so we went over to the Baby Care Center where she wolfed down two jars of food. I couldn't belive it!
At this point I was starting to drag again. We were faced with two choices. 1) Find some dinner and wait the three hours until Illuminations or 2) Go back to the hotel. The hotel won out, as we had scheduled and Illuminations Cruise for Sunday. Little did we know...
It was a quick ride back. I took the girls back to the room, while DH went to get dinner. I had chicken penne alfredo, which was to DIE for! DH had another mediterranean flatwich, and Megan had mac & cheese. After the girls were asleep, DH got dessert--chocolate cake, and a Mickey bar.
We went to bed around 10, but didn't get a chance to sleep. Why? Because of the unsupervised teenagers that were in the room next to us. They were yelling and slamming the door. I would've ignored it, but after waking up the girls for the fourth time, I called the front desk. Unfortunately, they said there wasn't much the could do. Sheesh! Eventually they settled down, and we got some sleep.
Coming up... AK & MK
