As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: 1 Dental Diva spends 1 day in 1 park...New 3/27
A spin around the track and lunch at Columbia Harbor House
Before lunch Jim wanted to take Jameson on the Indy speedway. I almost forgot about them! So while Jim and Jameson waited in line I walked around, shopped a bit then went to the grandstands to get some pictures of the boys. This ride consistently has the longest wait, it must be due to the loading and unloading process. I could see them in line and when they got near me Jameson saw me and was waving. Jim thought Jameson was waving to some stranger and was more concerned on what was happening in front of him. Jameson kept saying “Daddy it’s Mommy!” But dear old Dad didn’t hear him and kept having him turn away from me. They had a fun ride and came running over to me after they were done.
Notice Jim is trying to get Jameson to turn around
I took this a fraction of a second too soon!
And by the time the camera was ready to take another picture, this is what I got
Jameson was getting hungry so we headed over to CHH. The boys went upstairs to get a table on the bridge while I got the food. When am I going to learn that Jameson and I can share a meal instead of getting him his own child’s meal. We had way too much food but thanks to the human garbage disposal (Jim) there weren’t many leftovers.
We walked over to Tomorrow Land and quickly nixed Buzz Lightyear for Jameson’s new found fear of the dark. So I suggested TTA. All was fine until we entered Space Mountain. DOH! I completely forgot about that and how dark it is and oops same thing in the Buzz part. He did ok in Buzz, maybe he was getting used to it? But I didn’t want to push it.
We took lots of pictures of the castle and shopped Main Street. We actually got a kick ball for Jameson that was on sale! I had no idea that existed in WDW
Jim wanted a quiet place to eat his cherry pie that he bought. I know the perfect place, there is never anyone there and it has cool sets to take pictures on. So off we trot to camera place next to Tony's. All the way in the back we went where I knew for sure that know one would be there. WRONG! I was so crowded I was stunned. There was a pin trading class going on and tons of people taking pictures on the sets. We take a few pictures and go over to the little tiny picnic tables to eat alone. Didn't last too long as a group of 10 people came over and just sat right by us for no reason. Oh well it usually is very quiet there, I swear!
It was late afternoon and decided that there wasn’t that much left to do so I said lets go over to DTD!
Coming up: So close yet so very far away

Awesome pictures Jenn! Jameson is just cute as a button!
To help with dark rides, we picked up a couple battery operated glow sticks at Wal-Mart - worked like a charm!

It's a Kodak Easyshare LS743. The only reason I picked this camera was that it's very small (about the size of a deck of cards) and slips easily into the pocket of my travel purse. Lucky for me it takes great pictures!

Re: 1 Dental Diva spends 1 day in 1 park...New 3/27
So close yet so very far away
We leave Magic Kingdom I turn around to catch one last glimpse of the Castle. For the first time in a long time I have no set idea when I will be back I am hoping for October-now I have to talk the other Dental Diva’s into it. A monorail is waiting for us and at the TTC so is a parking lot tram. We find our car and drive over to DTD. We get there in no time and Jim and I both think that the Disney bus drivers take the longest way to DTD, it always seems like it takes FOREVER to get there.
This is my first time parking at DTD, I’m used to pulling in where the buses go. We parked by Basin and that happened to be my first purchase-lavender bath bombs. Mmmmm those smell so good! The nice thing about going to DTD in the afternoon is that it’s not crowded at all, you can actually walk around World of Disney and not have to say excuse me every 5 seconds to get around someone.
Jim shocked me buy buying something for himself. He never gets anything besides a t-shirt for himself. But this time he bought a really nice watch, it had a very discreet outline of Mickey and Goofy (Jim still can’t see Goofy ). With that purchase he got a lithograph, that still needs to be framed.
Jim took all our purchases back to the car and we ate dinner at Wolfgang’s Express. Jameson and I shared a Rosemary Chicken and garlic mash potatoes dinner. Jameson ate almost the whole thing! Jim stayed with Jameson while I went into the candy shop and got some rice crispy treats, chocolate covered marshmallows and lollypops for Jameson.
We walked back towards Basin and I could see it, I could see my beloved Comedy Warehouse and Adventures Club. I was sooooo close and yet so very, very far away . I wanted to go so bad!!! But there was no way I would make other people put up with a babbling toddler during the show. Besides the fact it’s a bar
Me thinks we spoiled him just a bit today
Well that just about ends our day in Orlando. We got back to St. Pete Beach just time for the sunset. We had a great day and I’m so glad we got to come up for the day and look forward to our next time in WDW.
