As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: One Dental Diva takes on the World
Dinner in France and a wicked awesome time at Pleasure Island
We or should I say Jim took a nap for about an hour and a half. I couldn’t sleep with his LOUD snoring. Oh my god was he sawing some wood! I went online and sent e-mails back home plus I downloaded the pictures I took this morning. I love being able to do this away from home! I stayed online for awhile but couldn’t take the snoring anymore. I stood over Jim and kicked the bed….I know it sounds a bit mean but I was going crazy with the noise. He woke up ,I freshened up a bit and away we went.
It had stopped raining and according to the weatherman it shouldn’t start again for a few days. I took a chance and didn’t bring the ponchos but did bring the umbrella.. But the big dumb move was not bringing my coat. I will pay for that later in the night. No one was waiting at the bus stop for Epcot when we got on so it was a quiet ride over.
Again at the bag check I didn’t take of my travel purse and they took a glance at it. Once we got in to Epcot the first mission was to find my new Leave a Legacy tile. DS Pam and I did one in October as part of our package we got for that trip. Dang ,it sure is confusing trying to find your way around those tiles. We walked and walked around trying to find it and was about to give up when we finally found it. It’s the very first stone on the right facing Spaceship Earth.
That done we headed to Test Track and we able to get right on. I so do love this ride, I just wish it were longer! Maybe add 2 more loops? Oh as we were walking over to Test Track I heard my mocking bird by the Electric Umbrella. What bird is that you ask? Every trip now for 3-4 years I hear this mocking bird in the huge palm trees by the restaurant. Has any one else heard him? He make the most delightful sounds…yeah right. He has chosen possibly the most annoying bird calls known to man, a screeching eagle/hawk and a crow like sound that goes CAAAACAAACAAACAAACAAACAAA. He does them constantly ,at top volume but I can’t believe he still there, or maybe it’s his offspring. Next time you go listen , you’ll hear it!
We meandered our way towards World Showcase pausing to stop in Mouse Gears. We saw some stuff to buy and had it shipped back to the resort. Right over the bridge I started to smell the roasted nuts. Boy do those smell good, I’ve yet to try them.! I was starting to get hungry for our big meal in France. Jim took a couple of pictures of me, which never happens because I am the camera person in our family. So it’s nice to get one of me once in while to prove that I have been at WDW. We took our time in the countries just enjoying being outside.
We were a little early for our PS in France and we waited on the benches out front. Jim has yet to eat here, he’s been upstairs at the Bistro. I saw the Beast and Beauty posing for pictures, I love his costume. Finally our names were called and we were seated in almost the same exact place that I ate at in October. We both got soup and salad, Jim got the duck and got the filet mignon. Everything was excellent as usual. Our waitress was starting her first week at Disney and she was a pro already. It was funny because she was a little to rehearsed in asking “Where are you from?” and didn’t really wait for our answer before telling us where she is from (Lyon, France). We didn’t get dessert, I was way too full! Jim wasn’t though.
Me at Chefs de France
Jim right before he ate his duck
After dinner we headed over to the Boardwalk so Jim could get his very favorite dessert of all time anywhere…..a huge honkin’ piece of napoleon from the Boardwalk Bakery. Have you ever seen how big they are? It’s at least 8”long, 4”wide and 3” deep. You can’t cram it into your mouth without looking like a pig. So he gets it and eats it at the bus stop while we are waiting for the Pleasure Island bus. He is getting crumbs from the pastry all over himself, with big globs of the pastry cream smeared on his lips. I’m married to such a classy man He finished it just before the bus came.
We shopped in DTD for a long time and I start to really regret not bring a coat. I am freezing! I head into WOD and like 100 other people get a sweatshirt for moi.
I am getting so excited to go back to my new favorite place!!! I can’t wait to show Jim and hopes he loves it as much as me, because we are coming here every night whether he likes it or not. Adventures Club is closed until 8 for a private party and the first show at Comedy Warehouse doesn’t start until 8:20, so we wander around the Island and decide to get a drink. I haven’t had a hard alcoholic drink in about 4 years, just wine or champagne usually for me I decide to get Planters Punch while Jim gets a beer. They have little bars set up all over the Island near each of the clubs. We got our drinks by the Adventures Club and the bartender was awesome, such a nice guy! The total for 2 drinks was 12 bucks, YIKES. I guess I haven’t been drinking at bars in long time. We gave him a tip and he couldn’t thank us enough. I managed to suck my drink down quite easily and ask Jim for another one. We go back to the awesome bartender, he remembered us so he really dumped the alcohol in my drink this time.
By the time we were let in Adventures Club I am feeling good. I showing Jim everything and talking up a storm. He is just laughing at me because I’m such a light weight. We head into the library room for the telethon show. Jim liked it! My favorite actor is playing to role of Fletcher Hodges tonight. I was hoping he would be at Comedy Warehouse tonight but this will do just fine. He was so funny during the show! Part of the telethon to save the club is an auction of a rare bone from some animal. Fletcher is the club curator so he brings it on stage except he is carrying it under his skirt (long story) and pulls it from between his legs and tells everyone he has the biggest bone of then all! More happens but I’ll let you all find out for yourselves when you go, right?
I took this of Fletcher Hodges without the flash...didn't come out too good.
We then headed into the trophy room for more fun with Fletcher. He trying to get going with show but some people are talking at the other end of the room. He finally turns around and yells at them to "SHUT UP ALREADY JEEZ"! That’s what I love about this club and Comedy Warehouse they really give it good to the drunk obnoxious people! He is showing us different artifacts when Beezle the floating head appears in the china cabinet. So Fletcher and Beezle are fighting when Beezle said meester instead of mister. Fletcher cracks up and we are treated to a little improv between the 2 of them. Fletcher keeps saying “meester? Meester? When did you become a Spanish speaking head?” That made Beezle laugh so hard his fake mustache fell off and had to pull his head away to fix and but then said screw it and took it off. You could tell they both loved trying to make each laugh and mess up and it’s fun for us too.
By this time it’s time for the second show at Comedy Warehoue so we say goodbye to AC and get in line for CW. I want another drink and Jim’s done with his beer so he gets more for us while I hold the place in line. As soon as he gets back we are let in into the club.
The show starts about 10 minutes after you are let in and I use the time by using the ladies room. Now I am starting to feel a little more than tipsy . I decide right then and there to drink water for a while. Back in my seat the show starts, we are seated ,by the way, very close to the stage which is important for the next part of the report.
Coming up: Jenn is part of the Comedy Warehouse cast

Re: One Dental Diva takes on the World
Jenn is part of the Comdey Warehouse cast..sort of
Ok so I’m feeling pretty good at this point and knowing that the cast sometimes asks for volunteers I decide that I will indeed offer myself up. The show is opened by an awesome actor named Matt. He starts the show by “calling” someone on one of the phones along the wall of the club. They ask questions about the guys life and the rest of the cast comes out and makes up a song about him. Very cute.
Then John comes out on stage asking for an embarrassing story. My hand flies up before I even know it’s in the air . He picked someone else first and they tell the usual story of being too drunk and puking (they get a lot of those stories) so he asks if anyone else has one. My hand is still in the air and the piano player sees me and yells to John “pick her, pick her”. John calls on me and Jim whips his head over to look me! He didn’t know my plan and didn’t see my hand up. John asks my name and I proceed to tell him about the time I went to Typhoon Lagoon with my DS Pam, as we were walking towards the wave pool we were making fun of everyone screaming when the waves came. Like “What have you never seen a wave before?” Well I got in and immediately start screaming myself as a huge 6 foot wall of water knocks me over. I stand up sputtering, looking for Pam. I finally see her but feel a cold breeze on my chest area. I look down and my freakin’ top has come off! I whip up the top and just about die!!!! John starts nodding and says “we have a winner” So the rest of the cast comes out and makes up a song about me. It was so cool!!!! Matt came out as a 15 year old boy (voice cracking) and said he learned a lot that day in the wave pool and he “grew” a lot in the pool and had to stay waist deep for a couple of minutes. I could not stop laughing. It was great and before we knew it the show was over.
We got right back in line for the next show. We got the same waitress again, and she remembered us and what we ordered as well. She was really cool! It was another great show and totally different, as it’s up to the audience and their suggestions that guide the show. The actors are very good at not accepting dirty or just plain annoying drunk suggestions. They remind you that certain phrases, suggestions or words cease to exist in the land of magic as the fairy lights twinkle and a spot light shines on a castle with Tinkerbelle type sounds playing in the background. Again we got right in line again for the last show of the night. This time it’s close to midnight and 2 couples with strollers come in with kids. I stood in shock watching them. A) it’s a club and not very stroller accessible b) as a parent you have to make some sacrifices and this would be one of them. I would never take Jameson to this club or AC until he much older (like 13, it's probably rated like a pg-13) because who wants to hear a toddler or baby scream during the show and C) it’s midnight and it’s a club!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok off my soapbox now.
This show was good because they got a little dirtier with double entendre’s. For the 3rd time tonight we got Dee the waitress again. She was laughing at us and didn’t even ask what we wanted and came back with a water and a beer.
The Comedy Warehouse was closing for the night and we headed back to the bus stop. We had such a great time tonight and Jim loved the clubs, maybe not as much as me, but still wants to come back. YEAH!
We hit the hay around 1:30ish and fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Re: One Dental Diva takes on the World
Thanks for your report, Jenn. I took my 11-year-old to Comedy Warehouse for the first show and I was a little embarassed with some of the humor for him (there was one song about a teacher who couldn't stand the feeling of wood, and you can imagine where that double entendre went .) By about 10:00, my son started to feel uncomfortable on Pleasure Island and we left. There were a lot of families with children arriving as we were leaving, though. So, I guess it depends on your own comfort level.
Congratulations on making it to the show, and thanks again for all of the detail!

Re: One Dental Diva takes on the World
Saturday January 16, 2005
Plans for today: Epcot, Relax, Pleasure Island
I wake up today with what I thought was a head cold coming on. Great! Now I’m going to get sick. As I start to shower and get ready for the day I slowly realize that hey, this is a mild hangover! Boy am I dumb! I take some advil at breakfast and feel better in 20 minutes.
Us in front of POP
We called Jameson and this time talked to him which unfortunately was a mistake. He talked to me a little bit but when Daddy said hi he started crying. OOOHHH my poor baby or my poor sister trying to calm him down. She later told he cried for 10 minutes and just wanted to sit on Pam’s lap with his blanket. Other than that he is doing great and they were going to go swimming today at their gym.
There is no threat of rain today so we leave the ponchos behind, but it is cold. We bundled up and head out to the bus stop. Most people were headed to MK as it was a Saturday, our line for Epcot was still a good size.
We have a PS today in Italy for lunch so we take our time and go see Crush at the Living Seas. I still hate that you have to wait to board those dumb hydrolators! I hope they get rid of them soon. Crush was starting in 10 minutes so we browsed around, watching the manatee’s eating huge hunks of lettuce. Crush was letting people in and we got a front row seat. It is the coolest attraction! It will be so much fun for the kids. I love when Crush talks to the kids by saying “You little dude with the pink shell on” or whatever color shirt you are wearing. I kept trying to see if you could see a glitch in the computer program of Crush, maybe to see if the words and mouth didn’t link up, and I am happy to report that to my eyes it was flawless.
After that we left by the dumb hydrolaters….grrrrr and headed over to Ice Station Cool. Jim loves Beverly and drinks a ton of it when we go. I think that of the place in WDW that is the only place where you will not slip and fall due to the sticky floor. Anyone else notice how your shoes squeak and stick when you walk? Jim is now refreshed so I decide that we should go over to WS towards Canada and work our way around that way.
In each country we looked but didn’t buy anything. That is until we reached Italy! I spotted a necklace and earrings set I really like and for a price of $25 is was mine! I found another necklace I liked as well and couldn’t make up my mind which one to get, then my DH said “why pick, get both” Here I was trying to be frugal! So I get both and we walk over to the restaurant for lunch. Again Jim has not eaten at this place. He proceeds to tell me his is not hungry and probably won’t get anything. What a killjoy, but knowing Jim he will cave as soon as we sit down.
True to my word, he does but “only” gets a Caesar salad. I got the fettuccine. Yummy. They gave me so much I couldn’t eat it all, as I push my plate to the side I see a fork come over from the other side of the table. “Well if your done we can’t throw that much away” Jim said. The fork keeps reaching across for 5 minutes before I say just take the plate! He does and finishes that, then orders tiramisu for both of us. So much for not being hungry!
While we were waiting for our food I ask Jim to take my picture with my new necklace. He takes one and says “oops I cut your head off”. He takes a 2nd one and this time he gets the top of my head but not the necklace. Here are the wonderful shots by Ansil Adams himself
Take one...
Take two..
After lunch we decide to head back to the hotel for a nap. This time I pull out my noise canceling headphones and laptop and fall asleep to Anchorman. Jim is snoring but I couldn’t hear him!
Coming up: Dinner in Mexico and what else Comedy Warehouse!
