Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Amanda & Brian\'s Wedding and Honeymoon Report - The Full Report!!!!!!!!

~~@ Welcome to Brian & Amanda's Wedding Story @~~

Background Information:
Amanda - born and raised in St. Louis, MO ... age 22... BA in Business Management...1 younger brother.

Brian - born and raised in St. Louis, MO...age 24...Associates in Computer Aided Drafting and Design....1 older sister.

Brian and I met at a dance at a local church. I was 15 years old and he was 17 years old. So, we were pretty young. He was doing a very popular (dumb) thing which is to get in a group of other guys and slam their bodies against each other. I think it was called "moshing" anyway, I was standing outside of this pit of people and here comes Brian flying out of the pit, knocking into me, and making me fall on my butt. He was mortified! He turned around and started apologizing over and over again. He helped me up and I was fine and I thought, "oh he's cute!" It turned out that we went to the same high school (we had never met before) and we had some mutual friends who were also at the dance. I remember sitting by him in the bleachers and thinking...this guy is worth waiting for. So we became friends and were inseperable for about 4 or 5 months. The whole time I was just waiting for him to get up the nerve to ask me on a date. Finally one night in July he kissed me. And it wasn't one of those immature teenage kisses this was A KISS and I knew then that we were going to be together forever. So that started a long relationship that has survied jealousy, high school, college, both of our parents divorce, jobs, and 2 cats. Hehehe!

The Engagement:
Brian and I moved in together in December of 2000. It was awesome! I was 21 and he was 22 and we loved living together. The day before Valentine's Day I got a dozen roses sent to me at work by Brian (of course!) and they were so beautiful. Now, I know on V-day roses cost a small fortune so I figured oh, this is an awesome gift! I had gotten him a Walt Disney Classic figurine. So I come home on V-day and we are going out to one of my favorite resturants. I come up behind him to give him a hug and what do I feel in his pocket....but a box! OMG! Brian turns to me and says, "I can't believe you just did that." Well of course I start to cry my eyes out! The next thing I know he is down on one knee with this box out in his hand asking me to marry him. And of course I said YES!

Next installment - The Pre-Wedding Highlights.

Fantasia77 - I live in South County of St. Louis. Near Mehlville. But I know where Cedar Hill is! Don't you have to take Hwy 30 West to get there?

Hello Tinkerbell22 and Fantasia77 -
I am another St. Louisan - South County area also - Crestwood/Sunset Hills, but I know where both of you are talking about. I will be through Cedar Hill on Friday when I head to the Lake of the Ozarks. (We usually take 30 to St. Clair to bypass the in-town traffic on the way out!) It's fun to find "neighbors" on the boards.

PS - Congrats on the upcoming wedding - I am really enjoying your report!

Re: Amanda & Brian\'s Wedding and Honeymoon Report - The Full Report!!!!!!!!

~~@ Brian and Amanda's Wedding Story @~~

The Planning:

Cast of Characters -
Brian(24) - Groom
Amanda (22) - Bride

Jeff (29) - Best Man and Brother-in-law of Groom
Jessica (21) - Maid of Honor and Best Friend

Tonya (23) - Bridesmaid - Longest Friend
Megan (22) - Bridesmaid - Great Friend
Janette (24 ) - Bridesmaid - College Friend
Tiffany (24) - Bridesmaid - Great Friend

Brandon (19) - Groomsmen and Bride's Brother
Kurt (24) - Groomsman and Bride's good friend
Bryan (27) - Groomsman and Bride's Cousin
Karl (25) - Grooms longest friend

My dress is white (of course) with spaghetti straps and lots of beading. It is hard to describe so I won't even try! The bridesmaids dresses are burgandy colored with spaghetti straps and sheer wrap. I LOVE my BM's dresses!

We are getting married in a old Catholic Church in a great neighborhood in St. Louis. This is one of those churches with the great big ceilings and beautiful stain glass windows. And it is HUGE! It will take me forever to get down the aisle. We have a 2:00pm ceremony and it will only be the marriage ceremony. We can't have a full mass (which is also over an hour long ) because DF is Lutheran.

Reception:
Will start at 7pm at a place called Andre's. We are serving Chicken Breast in a white wine and cheese sauce, Roast Beef, Fettuicne Alfredo, Rigatoni, Rosemary Potatoes, Italian Salad, Fruit, and Cheese buffet style. We will have a DJ so there will be lots of dancing. Our centerpieces for the table are small bowls filled with water with a floating rose candle in them. Set that on top of a piece of mirrored tile with rose petals all around. LOVE IT! And it only cost me $80 for 30 tables!

Flowers:
We went wit Silk flowers because it would only cost us $200 instead of $1000 for what we wanted. I will have a cascading bouquet with bridal white and pink roses, mauve hydrangia, and ivy. Very pretty! The BM's will carry single bridal pink roses with greenery. GM's will have burgandy colored rose.

Cake:
4 layers of white icing on white cake with strawberry filling. With a cool scribble design all over. In front of that will be 3 satellite cakes with the same design. And hydrangia all over! Hydrangia is my favorite flower!

Those are the basics! I'll add more later!

Wow, I've been only married for 7 years, but reading your report makes it seem like so long ago! I had the scribble design thing on our cake too. One thing I did wrong was have the top 2 layers of the cake made out of red velvet, they were heavy and sank into the bottom layer! Oh well, everything turned out okay!

Another vote for a full wedding report! I'll agree with Las17, we are suckers for a romantic story around here!! Also, has anyone heard from MommaPooh or GoofyWill?! Please, keep the report coming! I bet you could print out your report as a keepsake, kind of like a wedding journal. Cool, huh?

I just love to read love stories. But then, I'm a sentimental kind of gal anyway. I just love the way you found the ring.

Re: Amanda & Brian\'s Wedding and Honeymoon Report - The Full Report!!!!!!!!

Hello! It is update time I have been very busy for the past 2 weeks addressing and stuffing our invitations. I went and got stamps today (60 cents for invitation envelope, 37 cents for response envelope) and will be busy stamping tonight. We finally get them out the door next Monday! Happy day Happy Day Happy Day!

I have my first fitting tomorrow, I am very excited. I think I am going to take the whole ensemble (unmentionables and all) that way I can see what the finish piece will look like. DF just bought me a beautiful necklace to go with my dress (he has never seen it) It is an aquamarine stone and it is so pale it almost looks like a diamond. It is in a white gold antique looking setting. God I LOVE it! But I am not allowed to wear it till the wedding day. It is like waving a Mickey Bar in your face and saying sorry, you have to wait until later! Grrrr! I wish there was more to report but there really isn't. I've been preparing for our Disney Honeymoon by constantly Trip Reports.
